Grateful Bunch and Punch from Stampin' Up!

Grateful Bunch

So, Dear Husband decided to join my weekly grocery shopping trip this morning.  I was pleased, but I knew my regular shopping routine of 5 or 6 stops to maximize my trip would need to be reduced to accommodate his shorter shopping attention span.

We arrived at Costco, and after a quick grazing at the food court, he grabbed the cart and we were off to the races.  Then he surprised me and said he was going to go up and down every aisle.  Well, that lasted about 10 aisles before he started skipping around the food aisles eating those risky samples served up throughout the store. (I'm telling you, don't eat the crab or anything with beans  or you'll be doing a quick two-step to the the little girls room most of the next day.)   As I grabbed for items on our regular shopping list, he picked up strange items like green pea crisps (dried sugar peas), crispy coconut rolls with roasted black sesame seeds,  and a big jar of Jelly Belly jelly beans left over from Easter.  True!  There were only about 10 total jars on display -- not the usual 10 cases, like most of their displays.

About 3/4 of the way through the store he says, "Okay, I think we're ready to go, now."   I quickly ticked off 7 or 8 additional items on our weekly list from the aisles we hadn't hit yet.  I knew I would never get him to back-track to the paper goods in the back of the store, but I was able to get most of the rest of our list before he sprinted out the door.  As he loaded the 36-can soda cases, cases of almond milk and other bulk items into the trunk, he exclaimed.  "Boy, this grocery shopping is really tiring!"   I didn't have the heart to tell him that this was 1/5 of the normal grocery shopping I do on my weekly trip.

Next stop was Starbucks for a giant 420 calories, 34g of sugar Iced Carmel Mocha Frappuccino or something like that -- I can never remember the names of those specialty drink in the giant cups with the whipped cream toppers-- to reward him for shopping with me....and, so I had an excuse to grab coffee beans and tick off one more of my weekly shopping stops.  It WAS nice to have his company -- a rare treat!  BUT, I'll need to make a second trip this week to finish the rest of our grocery list.

I looked over my posts this weeks and it looks like I've been on a flower kick.  I'm continuing that momentum with another flower card today using Grateful Bunch.  I began with a Whisper White basecard with a background created with the Simply Scored Scoring Tool.

I picked a Real Red polka dot paper from the  12 X 12 Designer Series Paper Stacks.   Then I grabbed a bunch of Whisper White scraps and stamped a bunch of Real Red daises from the Grateful Bunch stamp set, and punched them out with the Blossom Bunch punch.

I scattered the smallest of the three daisies onto the Whisper White portion of the card and layered the two larger daisies at the top of the card and accented each daisy with Basic Pearls.

The sentiment label was created with the Special Reasons stamp set and cut with the Stylish Stems Dies. The sentiment is from the Sunburst Sayings set.

I finished the card, looked at it, and kicked myself for the color I chose for the sentiment.  We have Memorial Day coming up in late May.  Using blue ink for the sentiment turns this card into a great, patriotic card for use in a few weeks.  I used Marina Mist on this final version and really liked how it turned out.
