Stampin' Up! Lilies Easter Card

Remarkable You

Its getting awfully close to Easter and I decided the lilies from Remarkable You stamp set was an appropriate stamp set to use today.  The ham, green beans and baking potatoes are in the fridge and its time to settle in for the holiday week end.  Nothing says Easter to me more than navy and green.  I must have had an Easter Outfit with those colors as a child, because as soon as I put these colors together, it shouted "Easter Outfit" to me.

I found these Night of Navy dotted paper in the Floral Boutique Designer Series Paper pack from the current main catalog.  I matted the Designer Series Paper with Cucumber Crush, one of the colors retiring June 1.  I'm really going to miss it.  It is such a solid, rich color and works so well with Night of Navy.  I stamped the lilies from Remarkable You and then cut them out and positioned them on an oval die cut.  The oval is matted in Cucumber Crush scallops.

I tied a 5/8" Cucumber Crush Mini Striped Ribbon across the Lily stems.  The sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Wishes all-sentiments stamp set.  I was thrilled to see this sentiment set will carry over to the June 1 catalog.  It has 24 different wonderful little sentiments.  The Remarkable You set is also carrying over.  So happy these two will live on.    The sentiment is popped up on dimensional and was die cut using the Stitched Shapes Framelit oval dies.  I did a second version of the card with a happy mother's day sentiment and I think the card works for either holiday.

Backwoods critters

I was pretty surprised when  this coyote appear in our back yard around lunch time today, and he looked pretty hungry.  Our Australian Shepard and I had been out there 30 minutes earlier.

With the abundance of rain we've  had this spring, the back yard wildlife has flourished.  The bunnies are chubby, the squirrels are spunky and the bluebirds and cardinals are abundant.  I worry most about the deer who visit at dawn and dusk.  Two are ready to have their babies and a hungry coyote could cause harm to the babies or the mothers.

I sure hope the rest of the deer herd can protect the soon-to-be mommas.  I'm worried because this morning there was only a single deer visiting our back yard.  We usually see 5 or 6.  Our back yard is a grassy opening in the forest and the deer love to frolic on the small hill and loll around in the grass.

 .

We'll, while I was writing this post, I'm relieved to say that 5 of our deer are now visiting our back yard.  I'm so relieved to see that they are safe from the coyote visitor from earlier today.
