More This Little Piggy stamping

This Little Piggy

Today I'm using the stamp set called This Little Piggy, again.  The stamp set has four main piggy images, and the one I chose today is just the calm little piggy of the bunch.

After the energy I had yesterday, I was really surprised at how my day went today.  I took my morning walk and ran errands until lunch time.   When I got home I was too exhausted to even eat lunch.  I curled up under a soft blanket and slept the entire afternoon!  What's with that?!!  I woke up groggy and just barely had the energy to make a card.  Something going around that I'm not aware of?   After feeling so great yesterday -- and most days --  today really surprised me!

The navy and white daisy paper that I'm in love with is the one from the Delightful Daisy Designer Series Paper Pack and I choose it again today.  I also had fun trying the new Decorative Ribbon Border punch.  I used it as a boarder on a strip of Daffodil Delight.  I used Daffodil Delight for my matt for the piggy image to match the yellow in the center of the daisy print. The basecard is Thick Whisper White.   The image is stamped in Night of Navy and then painted with Aqua Painters and Powder Pink Ink.  Then I lightly went over the image with watercolor pencil to fill in the edges of the image and add a little subtle shading.

This also uses the new Decorative Ribbon punch which created two different edges

I'm enjoying the speed at which I can create with this stamp set because the image includes the sentiment as part of the stamp.  No fussy positioning or cutting an extra sentiment piece.  Although you could do so if you wanted.  Just cover the sentiment with a sticky note before you stamp the little piggy.  Then stamp the sentiment separately by using a sticky note to cover the little piggy image.  Another alternative is to cut the sentiment from the piggy image and use it as a separate piece.  I may do that later, but for now I'm enjoying the convenience and ease of having the image and sentiment as a single stamp.

The bow is the new 1/4" Double Stitched ribbon in Daffodil Delight.  I also added a piece of Double Stitched ribbon down the center of the banner behind the image.

The new Decorative Ribbon Punch actually cuts two different boarder designs.  If you turn your punched image one way it forms a scalloped edge that matches the scalloped edge of our circles, squares and oval scallopped layering framelits.  Turn the image the other direction and it forms the  decorative ribbon edge.  This is a must-have, duel purpose punch.
