Be Merry Christmas Card from Stampin' Up!
I love how our new stamp sets work with our carry over sets from previous years stretching our investment in our stamp set and supplies. Today I mixed die cuts from the Santa Sleigh set with the new Snowflake Sentiments set. My Designer Series Paper choice is the Be Merry Designer Series Paper from the Annual Catalog. It coordinates with Cherry Cobbler and Garden Green cardstock.
This simple Christmas card also uses the deer die cut from the Santa's Sleigh stamp set and the coordinating Santa's Sleigh Thinlit Dies. As I worked on a swap card due this week, my desk became cluttered with die cuts and ribbon ends. I love looking down at this pile of deer die cuts. The expression on the the deer is perfect, in my opinion -- such confidence and calm! I enjoy the messy process before we get to our final cards.
The base card for my card is Basic Black cardstock. The next layer is two designs from the Be Merry Designer Series Paper from the Annual Catalog. Then I stamped one of the sentiments and the three snowflakes from the Snowflake Sentiments set from the Holiday Catalog onto a circle punched with the Stitched Shapes framelits. The Merry Christmas is stamped in Cherry Cobbler and the three snowflakes are stamped in Garden Green. I cut the "from our family to yours" off my "Merry Christmas" stamp as I wanted to make stamping the Merry Christmas as clean as possible. This also allows me to stamp the "from our family to yours" in another color more easily, when I choose to use it.
The deer die cut is popped up on dimensionals, and the ribbon and bow are made from the 3/8" Silver Metallic-Edge Ribbon. If you have a large number of Christmas cards to make for your list of friends and family and you don't have much time, this card design will help you create a meaningful hand made card quickly for those you love.
