Bloomin' Love Valentine

I've been making eclipse cards recently, and my original intent with today's card was to make it another eclipse.  However, as sometimes happens with the creative processes, sometimes your mental vision of a card takes an interesting turn.  My original card used Berry Burst to stamp the Bloomin' Love large heart and Powder Pink for the smaller flower.    It was okay, but it didn't "pop".  So I decided to try a different direction.  I kept the Berry Burst for the larger heart, but I grabbed my Silver Embossing Powder, to match the edge on the Silver Metallic Edge on the Berry Burst Ribbon.  Better.  So I next reached for my Large Letters Framelits and die cut the word "LOVE" from the card front.  I was about to mount the letters on the card front, but the more I looked at the card, the more I loved the bold Berry Burst color showing through.  So I added the ribbon and my card was done.  Probably one of the fastest cards you can make!

The basecard is Thick Whisper White.  Then a layer of Berry Burst.  Then another layer of Whisper White.

The Bloomin' Love stamp set includes both the heart and the flower used to stamp the front of the card.  I first stamped the large heart, then I waited a moment to ensure the ink was dry.  Then I used Versamark to stamp the smaller flowers and then embossed with Silver Embossing powder.

I die cut the Love using the Large Letters Framelits.  Then I assembled the Berry Burst and the die cut front layer, and added the Berry Burst 3/8" Metallic-Edge Ribbon. Then I added the two top layers to the Thick Whisper White layer.

This is one of the cards we'll make in class February 4.  Read more below.

The Valentine gift and card class --February 4-- is going to be one you won't want to miss.  Take a look at the cards and gifts pictured below we'll make during this class.  You'll love having these cute items on hand for Valentine's Day giving.  Most of these projects were made with new products from the Stampin' Up! Occasions catalog, and you'll see lots more samples using these new products on display the day of the event.  Be sure to bring your camera to take photos of samples you'll want to make later.

We'll make 3 full-size cards, three treat packages, and three of the new Stampin' Up! narrow note cards with matching envelopes.  Stampin' Up! carries the new Silver Mini Gable Boxes, the 2 X 2 X 2"clear plastic cubes, and the Big Shot dies used to create the Valentine treat box.  This treat box also holds the new narrow note cards -- a perfect gift.
