Christmas Gift Box using Stampin' Up! Holiday products

  • Christmas Snowflakes gift box
  • Free Holiday catalog download available

Christmas in Black & White, Gold & Silver

Last week I posted a Black and White, Gold & Silver Christmas card that I really liked.   Today I created a gift box to compliment the B&W card, staying with the Black and White, Gold & Silver combination.  The gift box uses the new mini pizza boxes available in the Stampin' Up! Holiday catalog.  The catalog is full of Black and White, Gold & Silver, and I'm loving it.  I've always loved the crisp look of black and white cards and gift items.

To decorate this box, I first used sponges and my silicone mat to color one of our foil snowflakes black.  I inked the backside of one of the foil snowflakes, and I was really pleased to see how nicely the snowflake took the black ink I sponged onto it.  Coverage was very solid and I was very happy with the outcome.

I created a 3-1/4 X 3-1/4 inch background layer of Basic Black and then a 3 X 3 inch layer of one of the Year of Cheer Specialty Designer Series Papers (DSP), and then added ribbons and bows in Silver Foil on top of the  box.

I used the Bow Builder punch to create the silver foil bow on the top of the box.  I used Tear & Tape to hold my Silver Foil bow together.  I added 3/8" Silver Metallic-Edge Ribbon to the bow and to the cover of the gift box.  I also cut a Silver Foil Snowflake using the Swirly Snowflakes Thinlits Dies and added it as an accent under the bow.  I wanted the ribbon to remain intact once the box was open so I tucked the ribbon under the cardstock layers on the top of the box.  However, you could also wrap the ribbon around the entire box to hold it closed to keep someone from peeking.

The box is a great size.  They arrive flat and once folded, the box is 3-1/2 X 3-1/2" X 1".  It can hold wrapped chocolates or candy or gift cards, small toys, or cookies.  The interior of these mini pizza boxes are food-safe.

It is hard to capture the glitter of the gold foil and silver foil in the DSP, ribbon and bows.
This has a lot of bling in real life

Add some tissue paper or shreds inside the box, and this becomes the perfect gift for many, many occasions. It can be decorated for any event and using a little alcohol and reinkers it can be spritzed to a color that will match your Stampin' Up! cardstock and ribbons. This box is also the perfect size for giving handmade 3 X 3 gift cards and envelopes -- these gift card envelopes are now available in the Holiday catalog -- or handmade Holiday tags.  You'll think of so many uses for these versatile boxes, so be sure to order these cute boxes and start decorating them today!

The box can also be given without a card by adding a tag from the Merry Little Labels stamp set, and punched out using the Everyday Label Punch.
