Butterflies create Beautiful Days

  • Another Beautiful Day card
  • Sale-A-bration selections with a $50 or $100 order

Silver Butterfly using Beautiful Day set

Today's card uses the Beautiful Day stamp set, again.  This set, along with the Blends alcohol-based markers, has continued to grow on me.  It is such a versatile set and it works with so many different papers, colors and accessories.  Today, I paired this stamp set with Silver Embossing and Blends coloring on vellum to create this lovely butterfly card.

I used a basecard of Berry Burst.  Then a layer of Smoky Slate dry embossed with the Simple Stripes Textured Embossing Folder.  I inserted the paper diagonally into the embossing folder to create diagonal rather than vertical embossed lines on the Smoky Slate.  I then used the Lots of Labels Framelits to cut a frame out of Berry Burst and another out of Sweet Sugarplum.  I dry embossed the Sweet Sugarplum later with the Layered Leaves Embossing Folder and adhered the layers together.

The butterfly from the Beautiful Days set was stamped in Versamark on Vellum cardstock, and then covered with Silver Embossing powder.  I used the heat tool to set the embossing powder.

Then I used the Dark Pink Pirouette Blends and the Light Rich Razzleberry Blends to color the reverse side of the vellum.  It creates a translucent look to the butterfly wings.  I waited a moment for the Blends markers to dry and then added a second layer of color to the vellum.

The sentiment is from the Hello Friend set.  Its stamped in Berry Burst Ink and punched with a 1-1/4" punch.  I used a Silver Foil scalloped circle punched with the 1-3/8" scallop punch to mat the sentiment.  A bow created using the Berry Burst 3/8' Metallic Edge Ribbon was added to the top of the frame.  This card begs to be held up to the sunlight to show off the sparkle and shine and the subtle translucent butterfly.
