Stampin' Up! Copper Petal Burst

  • Copper Petal Burst
  • New items on Clearance Racks
  • Final day for 25% off this week's weekly specials

Vintage Leaves from Stampin' Up!

Copper Petal Burst
I used the wonderful, new copper foil paper and the Petal Burst Embossing Folder to create this card.

Copper Foil and Vintage Leaves

The card was difficult to photograph due to the shine from the copper foil.  In real life the copper foil makes a dramatic background.

The sentiment is from the Grateful Bunch.  I used just the words "grateful" from the Greatful Bunch.  It is embossed in Copper.

Stamps: Vintage Leaves, Falling Flowers, Grateful Bunch (Sentiment)
Ink: Versa-Mark, Garden Green, Pumpkin Pie, Cajun Craze
Paper: Pumpkin Pie, Copper Foil, Garden Green, Cajun Craze

Accessories:  Leaflets Framelits, May Flowers Framelits,  Copper Embossing powder, Powder Pal,  Fluttering Textured Impressions Embossiung Folders, Standard Cutting Pads, Thin Die Adapter, Big Shot Platform, Big Shot Die Cutting Machine, sponge

I sponged the edges of the large Pumpkin Pie leaf with Cajan Craze.  The open leaves in Cajun Craze are from May Flower Framelit.

    Gold Poinsettia Christmas Card

    • Thinlits and Framelits create Gold Poinsettia card
    • Sneak peek from the Stampin' Up! Holiday catalog
    • Stampin' Up! Paper Pumpkin BOGO - Aug 11-Oct 10 2016

Gold Poinsettia card using 4 different dies and no stamping

Stampin' Up! has a great punch, called Festive Flower Builder that creates wonderful poinsettias.  However, I've always wanted to create a more delicate looking poinsettia.  I found that the leaf from the May Flowers Framelits really does the trick!  This card is unique in that it requires no stamping, but uses four different Stampin' Up! dies.

Above is a close up of the poinsettia. Full size card is pictured below. I cut eight May Flowers Framelit leaves and positioned them on a 3/4 " circle with hot glue.  You'll need to lay down a layer of hot glue and position the first 4 leaves and then lay down a layer of hot glue on top of the centers of the first four leaves and position the next 4 leaves.  Using Gold foil paper, you are able to bend and mold the shapes of the leaves to get a more realistic look.

Gold Poinsettia using Stampin' Up! Thinlits and Framelits

I added a large gold enamel to the center to finish off the Poinsettia and added a couple more gold enamels for added interested.  I cut two banners using the Banners Framelits.  One in Gold foil and the other in Whisper White.  The Whisper White banner is embossed with the new Pine Bough Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, a sneak peek at one of the new products available in the Holiday Catalog September 1.  The word Peace is also cut from the Gold foil paper using the Christmas Greeting Thinlits.

Its so strange how some cards come together so quickly and make you so happy and others cause you to struggle for hours and still don't hit the right creative mark.  This is one of the easy ones!

    Stamps: None
    Ink: None
Paper: Heavy Whisper White,  Gold Foil Sheets

Accessories and tools:  Gold Enamel Shapes, Christmas Greeting Thinlits, May Flowers Framelits (leaf), Botanical Builder Framelits (modified to simulate pine needles), Banner Framelits, Pine Bough Textured Impressions Embossing Folder

A few more details.  I wanted something that looked like pine needles in addition to the new Pine Bough Textured Impressions Embossing Folder (Available Sept 1).  I found the "fern" die from the Botanical Builders Framelits can quickly be modified to look like pine needles by using your paper snips to make the fern leaves a bit narrower.

      Bonus Month

      • May Flowers Framelit
      • Bonus Month

Mint Macaron and May Flowers Framelit

I've showcased the new Mayflower Framelit one one of the cards in an earlier post, and I'm using another piece from that framelit set today to make the flower on this card.

See full Falling Flowers card below

Mint Macaron is one of my favorite Stampin' Up! colors, and I was so pleased to see the Blooms and Bliss Designer Series paper from the June catalog coordinates with this delicious card stock.  I'm also loving the Falling Flowers stamp set, which coordinates with the May Flowers Framelits.  I used the framelit to cut  two of the same flower and layered them together, although they were wonderful as a single flower.  My only regret is that the card doesn't photograph nearly as well as the card in real life.  This is one of those cards you need to see in person to appreciate it.

I made this in a landscape version and also used another version in a portrait size with the other side of this Blooms and Bliss Designer Series Paper for an upcoming swap.

I think Stampin' Up! has done a remarkable job this year providing us with so many beautiful, delicate dies to work with our stamp sets.  It is easy to put together cards that will wow your recipients with your thoughtfulness and creative skills.

      Floral Boutique with Flourishing Phrases

      • Floral Boutique
      • $35 in extra rewards on a $350 order ends June 30
      • Sign up as a demonstrator and earn 2 free stamps

      Floral Boutique card set

Today I'm casing a set of cards I saw on a Facebook site for demonstrators preparing for their new catalog open houses.  I know it was a German demonstrator, but I've searched the site several times and can no longer find the site to give attribution to the original creator.  I have made some changes to make them my own.

Flourishing Phrases (141531) and Floral Boutique Designer Series Paper (141663)

I think this is one of the most versatile sets from the new catalog.  There are so many ways to use this stamp set, along with the Floral Boutique Designer Series Paper, and the coordinating Flourish Thinlit Dies.  This is the second set of cards I've made with this set and matching die set.  Check out my earlier Flourishing Phases and coordinating Flourish Thinlit set.   Here a look at the set of 4 cards, but I'm not done.  I'll be working on more items with this coordinated set and the matching dies.

Flourishing Phrases, Coordinating DSP and the Flourish Thinlit Die.  Click for larger image.

Each card was quick and easy and I think these cards would be a great card set to give as a gift or to keep an use.

Here's a close up of each card:

Floral Boutique Design Series Paper coordinates with Night of Navy card stock.

This card also used the Layering Circles Framelits along with the stamps from the Flourishing Phrases set. The sentiment is also from this set.

      May Flowers Framelit (140276)

This card includes a large flower from the May Flowers Framelit, which gives the flower from Flourishing Phases a much larger footprint and adds a lot of interest.  The sentiment uses the new Layering Ovals Framelit.  Both the Layering Circles and the Layering Ovals include scalloped and straight shapes.

      Flourishing Phrases image and sentiment.

This card, like all of the cards in this set, is stamped in Night of Navy and Night of Navy card stock is used to frame the DSP.

This background is another pattern in the Floral Boutique Designer Series Paper

This is such a functional set!  The set of sentiments included makes this a very useful set.  This is one of the more expensive stamp sets in the catalog.  If you're wish list is over $99, consider joining as a demonstrator before June 30 and choose this stamp set as one of two Free stamp set you can select if you decide to purchase a starter kit.  See more details below.

      Recipe:

      • Stamps:  Flourishing Phrases
      • Ink:  Night of Navy
      • Paper: Thick Whisper White, Night of Navy, Floral Boutique Designer Series Paper

I've said this before; I'm not done playing with this set. I still have several more color combinations to try. What color combinations will you try?
