Valentine treats and card

  • Valentine Cellophane treats and card
  • Stampin' Up! is coming to Dallas for a day of Stampin' - Feb 16, 2013
  • Get Free Products during Sale-A-Bration - for each $50 order

I'm making these wonderful treats for my friends at work.  I can't wait to fill my candy dish with these wonderful treats.  I used the same color theme and design elements to make a matching card.  I'm make more treats and send them to my mom to have on hand for visits from the grandchildren.

I used the 1" X 8" Cellophane Bags (124134) to make these cute treats.  The Window frame die cut is layered with the heart from Hearts a Flutter and then topped with a heart stamped with the Love Heart single stamp (132334) and punched with the Heart punch.

The new 7/8" cotton ribbon (127844) from the Spring Catalog  is so easy to work with.  It matches the Naturals Ivory card stock well.

I quickly pulled together this card using some of the  elements from the candy sleeves.  All of the framelit dies and Impression folders offered by Stampin' Up! help make cards like this fast and easy.  I planned on making more of these cute treat sleeves filled with Cinnamon Jelly Hearts, but after I ate all the first contain, I found that  the grocery store didn't have any more!  I'm kicking myself for not buying more!  I guess some other people found out how good they were too -- and its still 3 weeks before Valentine's Day!

Recipe
Stamps: Hearts a Flutter (w-129249; c-129252); Love Heart (Single Stamp) (132334)

Best Christmas Present ever - Merry Christmas 2012

    •  Best Christmas Present . . . ever
    •  Christmas Lodge Christmas Card
    •  Fa-la-la-la-la, la-la-la-la

Here's a quick card template from My Digital Studio design software that I reworked a bit to accommodate a photo of our 11-year old Sheltie, Rascal.  We're so fortunate to have him with us.  A couple weeks ago we weren't sure if he would make it home for Christmas.

Rascal just stopped eating one Monday morning shortly after Thanksgiving.  We were able to get a little bit of food in him each day, but by Friday I was really alarmed and took him to the vet on Saturday.  The vet told us it was probably a bad tooth and sent him home with some pain meds until we could get him back to the vet for teeth cleaning a week later.

On Sunday, Rascal started throwing up and still wouldn't eat.  Monday we took Rascal back to the vet and found that his blood work showed very high liver chemistry numbers.  We went for an ultrasound at an animal hospital the following morning.  The new vet told us they would like to do exploratory surgery because the abdominal ultrasound revealed a distension of the gall bladder and a mottled liver.  I learned more about the importance of a dogs liver and gall bladder over the next few days than I ever thought possible.  However, I was really concerned what major surgery and a long recovery period would do to an older dog with hip problems.

We opted not to do the surgery, which would have required a 10-day stay in the animal hospital and the results wouldn't be back for 3-4 weeks.  Instead we decided to try a variety of heavy drugs because they couldn't pinpoint if this was a bacteria, fungal, gall stone blockage or what.

We're happy to say that after a couple of days he started eating again--a little bit more each day--and two weeks after we started the drugs he's more active, alert and his eating is back to normal.  His liver chemistries are improving, with bilirubin now normal.  He will remain on Clavamox, Baytril, Ursodiol, Denamarin for whatever is causing his liver and gall bladder problems, Cerenia (for nausea, if needed) and Tramadol for his hip pain for another couple of weeks to be sure we got it all.

The return to health of our beloved companion is the best Christmas present ever!

Here's what I used on Rascal's scrapbook page.
      My Digital Studio recipe:
    Stamps
Designer Kits/More Merry Messages/More Merry Messages - merry christmas, Stamp Color:  SUMMER STARFRUIT

Designer Kits/More Merry Messages/More Merry Messages - do not open, Color:  I color matched a piece of fur in his coat.
    Background Color: CHERRY COBBLER
    Punches
1.25 Square Punch, Fill Color: CHERRY COBBLER     1.25 Square Punch, Fill Color:  I color matched a piece of fur in his coat.

My Digital Studio Design Software:  30-day free trial available.  (Try it today with your Christmas photos!)

Last Christmas Card of the season

Here's my last Christmas Card of the season.  Now I can start playing with all of the new pre-order products from the Spring Catalog merchandise!  As much as I love to play with new stamps and merchandise, I love making Chrtmas cards and gift wrapping the most.  I wish we could use all of the sparkel, big fluffy bows, and festive papers all year round...love, love, love it and hate to put away the Christmas fun at the end of every year.

I love the Christmas Lodge stamp set.  This is the second Christmas in a row that I've used it on my main Christmas Card...even though I have every new Christmas stamp from this year's catalog...this one is my all-time favorite.  Also, check out the Cherry Cobbler Dazzling Details (125585).  You're going to want a bottle of this for your Valentine cards.

    This card uses:

Stamps:  Christmas Lodge (123769), More Merry Messages (inside verse, which I forgot to photograph - 126402)
    Inks:  Soft Suede
Papers:  Soft Suede, Cherry cobbler, Very Vanilla, Champaign Glimmer Paper
Accessories:  Cherry Cobbler Dazzling Details, Labels Collection Framelit (125598), Big Shot & Cutting pads

Here's wishing you a Very Merry Christmas, with a final word (Christmas song) from Rascal...

    Fa-la-la-la-la, la-la-la-la

Sing it out, Rascal ... and to all a good night!

    Enjoy!

I shopped for Christmas Ornaments and candles and started working on digital Christmas projects this week-end...I'm finding it a little hard to believe we just finished Halloween and it is almost Thanksgiving!  I spent the rest of the week-end playing with My Digital Studio Downloads.   Here's one of the digtal projects I created a couple of weeks ago for a class.

One way I plan to save time and enjoy the holidays more is with My Digital Studio designs.  I'll use this background design for many different projects.

This design were based on an idea I saw and didn't think to capture where I was on the web when I saw these striking color combinations.  The great thing about designing in My digital Studio is that once I've created the basic background design, I can use it on all kinds of die cuts, tags and cards.  I'll be able to make matching card fronts, gift packages like this pillow box, matchbox candy holders, or anything else I want to create from this design.

I started by doing a search in My Digital Studio for all the snowflake I had purchased as downloads.  I selected several snowflakes from different kits, sized them, positioned them, and then colored them using either Crumb Cake or Basic Black.  I admit to a little trial and error.  I printed this on regular computer paper and laid a Sizzix pillow box template over the design to position elements where I wanted them to end up on the finished die cut.  I added the dotted line from the Candlelight Chritmas digital kit and position the text around the dotted line.

Here are the My Digital Studio Products used in the little Pillow Box above:

    Stamps, Desginer Kits, & Colors
Bright Hopes\Bright Hopes - snowflake, Color = CRUMB CAKE
Calendar Basics Kit\Calendar Kit - snowflake, Color = CRUMB CAKE
Holiday Blitz\Holiday Blitz - snowflake, Color = CRUMB CAKE
Jolly Bingo Bits\Jolly Bingo Bits - snowflake, Color = CRUMB CAKE, BASIC BLACK
Snowflake Soiree\Snowflake Soiree - snowflake 3, Color = CRUMB CAKE
Designer Kits\Candlelight Christmas\Candlelight Christmas - dotted line, Color = Taken with Team (retired)

I'm betting you've been thinking about trying digital designing software, as your stamp room has grown more cluttered with barely an empty space to work in.  It is great to have all of the traditional scrapbooking products, but some days you just wish for a clean working space to begin your creative process.

That's one of the beauties of My Digital Studio.  You can start with a blank page.  Or you can begin with one of the many designer templates or photo templates available.  It is a fast way to try different color combinations and stamps to create your designs before you pull out all your papers and stamps.  Even if you are casing an idea you saw elsewhere, you might want to try different color combinations, designer papers or different stamps.  My Digital Studio design software helps you personalize an idea quickly, and economically.

With so many ladies becoming highly skilled in using digital design software MyDigitaStudio.com site is filled with handy videos to get you started and keep you going.  The forums are friendly and useful for beginners or experienced users.
