Beautiful Day in Bermuda Bay

  • Flower from Beautiful Day stamp set
  • Sale-A-bration selections with a $50 or $100 order

Bermuda Bay flower from Beautiful Day set

The card today uses the Beautiful Day set from the Stampin' Up! Occasion set.  This set includes both this large flower and a large butterfly.  Both create stunning cards.  I'm using the alcohol-based Blends again today, which I've been using heavily for cards this week.  I'm loving how easy it is to color images and add highlights using these wonderful markers.  And the Occasion catalog includes a wide variety of stamp sets that include images perfect for using these markers.

I used Bermuda Bay as my basecard.  Then a layer of Soft Sky.  And then a layer of Whisper White.  The Whisper White layer was dry embossed with the Layered Leaves Embossing Folder.

The Old Olive striped paper is from the Sweet Soiree Specialty Designer Series Papers and this card uses a 2" strip under the flower.

The flower was stamped in Bermuda Bay on Whisper White.  Then clear embossing powder was poured over the wet Bermuda Bay ink and set with a heat tool.  The flower was fussy cute and then colored with the Light Bermuda Bay Blends marker.

The sentiment was stamped in Tuxedo Black Memento ink.  The banner behind the sentiment uses the light green Glimmer Paper from the Myths & Magic 6" X 6" Glimmer Paper pack from the Occasions catalog.

The card comes together quickly yet looks sophisticated.  You'll be proud to send this card to someone you love.

We Must Celebrate stamp set from Stampin' Up!

  • Fur-ever Friends!
  • Free Sale-A-bration selections with a $50 or $100 order

We Must Celebration

The furry animals in the Stampin' Up! We Must Celebrate are so friendly, you just want to cuddle them all.  I've been waiting to use this set, and I finally found just the right Designer Series Paper (DSP) to work with these cure creatures.  This is one of the sets in the Occasions catalog and the DSP is from the Pick a Pattern Designer Series Paper pack from the main catalog.  I thought the mushrooms and the Crushed Curry background added just the right amount of punch to the fairly neutral Blends alcohol-based pens used to color the animals.

I tried a couple of different sentiments from this set since this set includes 6 different sentiments, plus several additional elements to create backgrounds and more interest.

The basecard for these cards is Basic Black, then a Layer of Crush Curry, and then two different patterns from the Pick a Pattern Designer Series Paper pack.  I added a narrow Black Band down the center between the two Designer Series Papers, and double layer of Crush Curry Bakers Twine.

The animals are stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and then colored with Blends alcohol-based pens listed in the recipe below.

The two different sentiments used on the two cards were treated differently to see how each would look.  One was matted on Oval dies cuts.  The other was matted on a rectangle.   This is a great set for sending congratulations or encouragement from a group.

Next, I'm going to cut these cute animals apart so that I can use them as a group or as individual elements.  This is a red rubber stamp so this will be easy to do.  I think you'll see this bunny soon on a cute Easter card I have in mind.
