Create Christmas Cards using Perfectly Plaid Stamp Set and Coordinating Pine Tree Punch

  • Christmas Card using Perfectly Plaid Stamp Set
  • Stampin' Up! Pine Tree Punch
  • Curvy Celebrations early-release products available to customers 4 November 2020

I love when I find a way to use a great card layout from a previous year again with updated papers and colors.  Last October, I created a card similar to today's card, and even included a short history of tartan plaid.  I've loved the plaids in this years Plaid Tidings 6" X 6" Designer Series Paper, part of the Designer Series Paper Sale going on until October 31, 2020.  I selected a Blackberry Bliss Plaid and paired it with the Perfectly Plaid Stamp Set and the Pine Tree Punch.  I'm so happy that the Gold 1/4" Shimmer Ribbon is still available, even though it isn't shown in the current catalogs.  You can order it using item #152156.  I found a curly cue in the World Map Dies that created a perfect accent for this card, especially when paired with the gold Gilded Gems.

The basecard for this Christmas Card is Blackberry Bliss cardstock.  Then a layer of Crumb Cake.  Then a 2" strip of one of the prints from the Plaid tidings 6" X 6" Designer Series Papers.

I die cut the largest Stitched Shapes Circles out of Whisper White.  I also die cut a Crumb Cake oval using the the second to the largest Oval Die from the Stitched Shapes Die, which I stamped using one of the trees from the Perfectly Plaid Stamp Set.  I stamped it in Blackberry Bliss to match the plaid. I punched a tree shape in the center of the whisper White circle and mounted the stamped Crumb Cake tree behind the Christmas Tree opening.   Then I added dimensonals to the back of the Whisper White Circle.

I tied a bow using the Gold 1/4" Shimmer Ribbon and added it to the card front.  I die cut a curly cue out of Gold Foil Sheets using one of the dies from the World Map Dies.  I stamped the Merry Christmas sentiment from the Perfectly Plaid Stamp Set in Black Berry Bliss onto the Crumb Cake potion of the card.  Then I added three medium sized Gilded Gems to the Whisper White Circle.

Remember, also, that Plaid Tidings 6" X 6" Designer Series Paper is on sale as part of the Designer Series Paper Sale until October 31.  And, I love when a stamp set carries over from one catalog season to the next.  You'll find so many more ideas for using a carry-over set like the Perfectly Plaid Stamp Set and Pine Tree Punch because its been available for a while.  It generally means it was an extremely popular sets, which makes it easy to create with.  You'll love creating cards your family and friends will enjoy with this stamp set and coordinating Punch.

Little Treat Box Dies for fun Halloween Treat Packaging

  • Stampin' Up! Little Treats Bundle
  • Halloween sentiments from Banner Year and Festive Post Stamp Sets
  • Magic In This Night Designer Series Paper is on sale this month!

It's gettering closer and closer to Halloween, so today I started making treat holders for trick or treaters, using the Little Treat Box Dies.  I love how quickly these little packages went together.  I used Pumpkin Pie, Basic Gray and Cajun Craze with accents of Magic In This Night Designer Series Paper.    I filled the packages with a couple of wrapped Hershey Nuggets and tied them closed with Black Glittered Organdy Ribbon and Linen Thread.  I used sentiments from the Festive Post and the Banner Year stamp sets and die cuts from the Peek-A- Hoot Dies and the Little Treat Box Dies.

The bases for each of the treat holders were selected based on which cardstock matched the Magic In This Night Designer Series Paper.  Pumpkin Pie, Cajun Craze and Basic Gray.  These base die cuts simply fold together with a little tab that hold the box area together.  I used Seal+ to hold the front and back flaps to the box area.

Orange and black Halloween Treat Boxes with Glittered Organdy Ribbon

I selected three different Magic in This Night Designer Series Papers to match each of the Little Treat Boxes.  Best of all, the Magic In This Night Designer Series Paper is part of the Designer Series Paper Sale until October 31, 2020.  I cut a 1-1/2" X 5-1/2" strip of Designer Series Paper, and wrap it around the box section of of the treat holder and used Multipurpose Liquid Glue to hold it to the treat box.

To decorate each treat holder, I used dies from the Little Treat Box,  from the Peek-A-Hoot Dies, and the Stitched Shapes Dies to create webs, spiders and sentiment labels and mats.  I stamped sentiments form Festive Post and Banner Year Stamp Sets in Tuxedo Black Memento ink onto Whisper White.   To add a little bling, I tied the boxes shut with Black 3/8" Glittered Organdy ribbon and Linen Thread.  Then I colored Metallic Pearls using the Dark Basic Black Stampin' Blends and added one to each sentiment.
