Use Perfectly Plaid Stamp Set and Fresh Freesia for a refreshing Christmas Card look

  • Stampin' Up! Perfectly Plaid Stamp Set
  • Select a Fresh Freesia color palette for a novel Christmas look
  • Paper crafting fun with the Haunts & Harvest Paper Pumpkin Kit.

One of my favorite carry-over sets from past catalogs is the Perfectly Plaid stamp set and coordinating Pine Tree Punch.  Today, I used this combination to create a fresh, fun Christmas Card as I continue to build up my stash for the holidays.  I encourage you to get started now, by ordering the products you need so when you have a few hours of free time, you'll be able to begin your holiday cards, too.  I combined Fresh Freesia cardstock, A Fresh Freesia print from the In Color Designer Series Paper and Fresh Freesia Open Weave Ribbon with both heat embossing and dry embossing to fashion today's cards.  Adding a few Pastel Pearls finished the card perfectly.  A quick reminder:  We've begun the final month of Sale-a-Bration.  Until 30 September, for each $50 or $100 order you place (less tax and shipping), you'll earn FREE Sale-A-Bration selections.

The basecard for this card is Fresh Freesia Cardstock.  Then a layer of Basic White Cardstock is dry embossed using the Wintry 3D Embossing Folder.  This is one of the smaller embossing folders, so I needed to run the top half of the Basic White layer, and then the bottom half of the Basic White layer.  I didn't need to be too fussy about lining up the embossing folder in the middle of the layer because the middle is covered by a piece of the 2021-2023 In Color 6" X 6" Designer series Paper.

Then, I created an image layer using an Fresh Freesia oval scalloped layer and a Basic White oval using the retired Layering Ovals Dies.  There's an entire psychology around shapes and what they make you feel.  Ovals, with their softer angles, often represent magic and mystery, which we often feel from our childhood-memories of Christmas, along with the eternity of Christ's birth.   So, although the Layering Ovals dies are retired, I'll continue to use them for many of my designs.

Next, I selected a stamp from the Perfectly Plaid Stamp Set, stamped it in Versamark ink, and covered it with White embossing powder.  I used my heat tool to set the embossing powder, and punched out the pine tree shape using the Pine tree Punch, which coordinates with the Perfectly Plaid Stamp set.  Below the embossed tree, which is mounted on Dimensionals, I stamped a Merry Christmas sentiment from the For Unto Us Stamp Set, using Fresh Freesia ink.  I finished the card front by adding a bow in Fresh Freesia 3/8" Open Weave Ribbon, and adding 3 Pastel Pearls.

I love redoing past card designs using new colors and products.  This is a great card design to try in your favorite holiday colors.

Art in Bloom Bundle creates Detailed Florals for your handmade greeting cards

  • Stampin' Up! Art In Bloom Bundle
  • Pick a Gingham print from the Pansy Petals Designer Series Paper.
  • Final month to join my team and select a free bundle from the Mini catalog in addition to the starter kit.

Today I'm playing with a most unusual set of stamps, dies and embossing folders. You may have missed this special set.  I know I bought it right away when the catalog came out, but I had no idea how to use it!  One of the benefits of being a demonstrator is that we have access to videos from our Stampin' Up! CEO, Sara Douglass and other members of the Stampin' Up! team, showing us how to use new products.  I love going back to these videos when I need a reminder of how to do something.

This bundle is called the Art In Bloom Bundle, from the Stampin' Up! Annual Catalog.   It's on page 116 of the annual catalog, with more details on page 157.   The reason this is an unusual bundle is the way the Dies and Embossing folder work together so that you can emboss and die cut in one pass through your Stampin' Cut & emboss Machine. The die fits inside the embossing folder, so your cardstock is embossed and die cut at the same time. I'm showcasing these beautiful die cut and embossed flowers from Art in Bloom Bundle with Fresh Freesia accents.  Using a fairly simple layout, the ease with which these die cuts are created, meant I had more time to make several of these cards rather than just a couple.  The beautiful embossed flowers added so much to the card.  I simply added a bow in Fresh Freesia Open Weave Ribbon and I was done. A quick reminder:  We've begun the final month of ale-A- Bration.  Until 30 September, for each $50 or $100 order you place (less tax and shipping), you'll earn FREE Sale-A-Bration selections.

Floral handmade thank you card using the Stmapin' Up! Art In Bloom Bundle

The basecard for this card is Thick Basic White.  Then a layer of Fresh Freesia Cardstock.  I selected a Fresh Freesia gingham print from the Pansy Petals 12" X 12" Designer series Paper for my third layer  Then i die cut a Basic White Rectangle using the Rectangle Stitched Dies to use as the base for my image layer.

Handmade Thank You Card using Stampin' Up! At in Bloom Bundle

The floral images were created using the unique Bloom Hybrid Embossing Folder.  The die for the 3 flowers is "seated" inside the coordinated Embossing Folder, along with the Cardstock, and then run through the Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine together, in a single pass.  I ran the Fresh Freesia Cardstock through my machine and then popped the individual flowers up on Dimensionals, before adding them on top of the Basic white Stitched Rectangle.

Two floral thank you cards using embossing folders, die cuts and the Art In Bloom Stamp Set from Stampin' Up!

I completed the card by using one of the sentiments from Art In Bloom Stamp set.  The sentiment was too long for my card, but since I only wanted to use the word "thanks" from the long sentiment in this stamp set, I used my Fresh Freesia Stampin' Write Marker and only colored the word I wanted to use.  I used a sentiment label from the Messages Die in Basic White Cardstock. And, I finished by added a bow of 3/8" Fresh Freesia Weave Ribbon.

Now I'm anxious to try more ideas with this unique set.
