Elegant Butterfly Brilliance Greeting Card

  • Butterfly Brilliance Stamp Set and Coordinating Brilliant Wings Dies
  • Last Chance to pick up the Stitched Shapes Dies and Layering Ovals Dies
  • Order So Cool by Paper Pumpkin by April 10

The Butterfly brilliance Stamp Set was sitting on my work table today, and I decided to create another fun butterfly card using the Butterfly Brilliance Bundle and one of the prints from the Love You Always specialty Designer Series Pape.

I wanted to call your attention to two sets of dies that I used on this card that I believe are absolute staples for my stamping supplies.  The ovals on this card are cut using the Layering Ovals Dies and the Stitched Shapes dies.  Both ore on the list to retire on 3 May 2021.  Why would Stampin' Up! retire these often-used dies?  Well, these dies have been around for quite a while.  Many, many demonstrators and customers have already added these items to their permanent stampin' stash.  I know I've been using them heavily for many years.  However, with most demonstrators and customers already owning these items, Stampin' Up! would rather offer us something new and with limited catalog space, some of the items that have stopped selling well are removed to make room for new, more on-trend items.  So if you haven't yet ordered the Stitched Shapes (Item #152323)  and Layering Ovals Dies (151771), be sure to order them by 3 May 2021 during the Last Chance Products Sale going on now.

You'll recall from my recent post, Brilliant Butterfly Bundle from the upcoming Annul Catalog, is an early-release item that you can order now...with the knowledge that these items will remain current for over a full year.

Butterfly Card idea using the Butterfly Brilliance from Stampin' Up!

The basecard for these cards is Thich Very Vanilla.  Then a layer of Sahara Sand.  Then a layer of one of the beautiful prints from the Love You Always Specialty Designer Series Paper.  This print has a silver embossed leaf pattern that is lovely, but very difficult to photograph.

The I used the Stitched Shapes Dies and the Layering Ovals Dies --both set to retire 3 May 2021--to create an oval  layer of scalloped Sahara Sand, a layer of Very Vanilla, and a layer of Stitched Sahara Sand to serve as my image layer.

Two butterflies on a neutral card with open-weave ribbon

I stamped two of the Butterflies in Sahara Sand ink onto Very Vanilla Cardstock, and die cut them using the Brilliant Wings Dies, which coordinate with the Butterfly Brilliance Stamp Set.  I popped them up on Mini Dimensionals, and added five Pearl Basic Jewels down the center of each butterfly.

The sentiments shape is one of the labels from the Messages Die.  I die cut them from Very Vanilla Cardstock, and stamped sentiments from the A touch of Ink Stamp set I earned during Sale-A-Bration that is no longer available.  I added a swag of Very Vanilla open-weave ribbon from the Forever Greenery Trim Combo Pack behind the image layer, I added a subtle border from the Painted Labels Dies beneath the sentiment label, and I added two pearls from the Pearl Basic Jewels to the sentiment label.

I need to mention for those of you who have purchased detailed dies from Stampin' Up! over the years, when Stampin' Up! began selling their own die cutting machines, they also switched die manufacturers.  I've struggled for years with detailed dies that were so difficult and time consuming to remove all of the chads from the dies.  Over the past year, I've had a much more pleasant experience using Stampin' Up!'s detailed dies.  The Brilliant Wings Dies are a great example of ease-of-use.  Yes, you will still need to remove a few of the chads when you finish cutting these butterflies, but they are exponentially easier to work with than detailed dies before Stampin' Up! made this switch.

Again, Butterfly Brilliance dies and stamp set is an early-release bundle for those of us who just can't wait to get our hands on new items.  See order number for this bundle below. Your friends or family will love the extra touch these butterflies make on the cards you create that make them feel special.  Order the new Butterfly Brilliance Bundle from my Stampin' Up! shopping site  24 X 7.
