Stampin' Up! Home To Roost

Today's I'm highlighting the free Sale-A-Bration set called Home To Roost.  With all of the exciting free Sale-A-Bration selections introduced as part of the second and  third Sale-A-Bration releases, its easy to forget about one of the sets introduced with the first release of Sale-A-Bration selections.  I'm guilty of wanting to play with the latest, new items I've received and so today was the first time I played with Home to Roost.  This card just seemed to fall together in minutes.  This stamp set is so easy to work with.  It can be yours free, with a $50 order (not including shipping and tax).

Background created using Corrugated Dynamic Textured
Impressions Embossing Folder (148026) USD $10.00

The basecard for today's card is Sahara Sand.  Then a layer of Cherry Cobbler.  Then another layer of Sahara Sand that is dry embossed with the Corrugated Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.  Once embossed, I used a Sponge Dauber to lightly ink the ridges of this layer with Sahara Sand ink.

The banner uses a piece of Festival Farmhouse, a retired  paper from the Holiday catalog that I just can't seem to part with.  The image layer is a circle of Very Vanilla die cut with the Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies.

The rooster image is stamped in Cherry Cobbler.  The reeds are stamped in Sahara Sand.  The sentiment is also from the Home To Roost Stamp Set and it is stamped in Cherry Cobbler and then punched using the Classic Label Punch.  Gold Metallic Pearls accent the image layer and the sentiment.

You can earn this free Sale-A-Bration selection -- Home To Roost -- free with a $50 order placed by March 31.

One of my favorites from the Occasions catalog is the Stampin' Up! Happy Tails bundle.  The bundle includes the photopolymer stamp set and coordinating punch, and the doggie stamp includes large and small spots or can be left plain.  Purchasing these two items as a bundle saves you 10% over purchasing the stamp set and punch individually.  I'm also using another Occasions catalog favorite, the Crackle Paint background stamp. See the item numbers below and add them to your Wish List today. Purchase them before March 31 to earn free Sale-A-Bration selections for each $50 you order.  But don't wait!  Sale-A-Bration is Stampin' Up!s best and busiest sale of the year, and items are only available until they sell out.  This year's sale has been one of the best yet, and with the final weeks of Sale-A-Bration coming to a close, many items have already sold out.  Stampin' Up! has added even more selections in the final month of Sale-A-Bration, so don't miss your favorites!

The basecard for today's card is Basic Gray.  Then a Smoky Slate layer is die cut using the Rectangle Stitched Framelits Dies and then stamped with the Crackle Paint Background stamp in Smoky Slate ink.  Then the hearts are die cut using the Be Mine Stitched Framelits Dies out of Smoky Slate cardstock.

The paw prints are from the Happy Tails Stamp set and are stamped on Smoky Slate hearts in Smoky Slate ink.  The sentiment -- also from Happy Tails -- is stamped in Versamark ink, sprinkled with White Embossing Powder, and then heat set with the Heat Tool.

Order the Happy Trails stamp set and punch bundle (150632)
and save 10% over purchasing them separately

The puppy is stamped in Smoky Slate ink on Whisper White and then punched out with the Dog Builder Punch, and mounted on dimensionals before adding it to the card.  The heart is punched out of Lovely Lipstick cardstock and it is part of the Dog Builder Punch.

Want to make this project plus earn the Country Floral Embossing folder as a free pick from the Sale-A-Bration selections?  Order the stamp sets and punch used in today's card for a free Level 1 pick.

Country Florals Embossing Folder

One of the most exciting, free Sale-A-Bration selections is the Country Florals Embossing Folder.  You'll find my recent blog post have covered several techniques for using this versatile new folder including:

  • Inking the folder with an ink pad before adding your cardstock and running it through the Big Shot
  • Coloring the raised areas of the embossed cardstock with Blends Markers or Daubers
  • Using the embossed cardstock as a background for a beautiful sentiment
  • Embossing a lighter shade of cardstock with the embossing folder and backing it with a darker shade of cardstock from the same color family for a monochromatic look for your card.

There are so many different techniques you can use with your Embossing Folder, and the Country Florals is a beautiful addition to your collection of Embossing Folder.  The wonderful Country Floral Embossing Folder is free with a $50 USD order (before Tax and Shipping).  Be sure to place your order for this Sale-A-Bration item before Sale-A-Bration ends, on March 31, The folder is available while supplies last.

Stampin' Up! Amazing Life

  • Stampin' Up! Amazing Life
  • Seats remain for the March 17 card class, register below
  • For $99 get $175 starter kit selections by joining as a demonstrator before March 31

Stampin' Up! Amazing Life

The Amazing Life Stamp Set was one of those sets that I just couldn't get my head around when I first saw it in the catalog.  Stampin' Up! always gives us a couple of Birthday sets with each new catalog, and when the Occasions Catalog previewed to demonstrators during OnStage in early November, I have to admit that this set wasn't high on my list.   However, after seeing many wonderful samples over the past few months and working with it on my own, I'm now totally in love with this set and can't wait to see what I can create next.

For today's card, I decided to use the Blossoms Elements-- small resin flowers in three colors--from the Annual Catalog as an accent on my card.  You're going to love these little resin treats that come in Calypso Coral, Petal Pink, and So Saffron!  They add so much to a simple card.

The basecard for today's card is Daffodil Delight.  Then a layer of Basic Black.  And next is a layer of Whisper White with a 1" strip of Gingham Gala 6" X 6" Designer Series Paper at the bottom.

The sentiment is from the Amazing Life set.  It is stamped in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.  This is such a large image that I grabbed my Stamparatus instead of a large, clear block to stamp this image.  I was worried that the stamp might now stamp fully the first time I inked it and I wanted to be able to stamp the image again with the Stamparatus if I needed to rather than discarding a bad stamped image.  Not to worry.  This image stamped beautifully the first time, and, again, the second time I tried it.  Clean, beautifully, crisp image.

Stampin' Up! Amazing Life Stamp Set

Then I grabbed a piece of Basic Black and stamped the banner in Versamark ink, covered it with White embossing powder, and heat set it with my Heat Tool.  I fussy cut it and mounted it on mini dimensional before adding it to my card.  I tied a piece of Organdy Ribbon from the sold-out Organdy Ribbon Combo Pack onto the bottom of my card, and then added the small Blossoms Elements --resin rose--onto the side of the card with a glue dot.

This is such an uplifting card, and so easy to make.  I can't wait to make more to add to my card stash to have on hand when I want to send a quick message to someone special to me.

Stampin' Up! Country Livin' stamp set

  • Stampin' Up! Country Living with boots and guitar
  • Seats remain for the March 17 card class, register below
  • Follow the money. For $99 get $175 starter kit selections

Stampin' Up! Country Livin'

I needed some quick Birthday cards today, so I reached for a stamp set that I haven't given much love recently, -- Country Livin'. It's a well used set; one of my last remaining wood sets, but one of my all-time favorites.  It's Simple, Pared down. Timeless.

I broke out an Aqua Painter and used ink pad ink to color the guitar and boots images.

The basecard for today's card is Crumb Cake, then another layer of Crumb Cake dry embossed with the Tin Tile Embossing Folder.  I then used a sponge Dauber and enhanced the embossing with Crumb Cake ink.

Then I built a layer for the sentiment area using dies from The Stitched Shapes Framelits Set for a Very Vanilla layer, the I used the Wonderful Floral Framelit Die Set for a Rich Razzelberry layer.  Then, the Stitched Framelit Dies to create another Very Vanilla layer for the stamped sentiment.

I created a light wash with an Aqua Painter and Rich Razzelberry on the Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies before stamping the sentiment in Rich Razzelberry ink.  The edge of the sentiment oval includes a small, Gold Faceted Gem.

The guitar is stamped in Soft Suede and then painted with an Aqua Painter and Crumb Cake ink.  The boots are stamped in Rich Razzelberry and then colored with an Aqua Painter and Rich Razzelberry ink.   We'll its time to hang up my boots for today.  Have a great evening.
