Wintery card idea using Stampin' Up! Magical Meadow and Peaceful Cabin Stamp Set

Do you have a retired stamp set that you just didn't get to use as much as you would have liked?  That's the way I feel about Peaceful Cabin.  It is such a beautiful set that I just couldn't let it sit on my shelf unused for another season.  As soon as I received the Magical Meadow Stamp Set, I knew I had to pair these two wonderful stamp sets together on a card.  My card today is a monochromatic card of Smoky Slate, Basic White and Black.  I included some strips of a Smoky Gray print from the Winter Meadow Designer Series Paper Pack. I stamped the cabin from Peaceful Cabin in Smoky Slate, as well as a couple of trees from that set.  Then I used some of the trees from the Magical Meadow stamp set, and stamped them to create more depth in the cabin scene.  Finally, I stamped a sentiment from the Magical Meadow Stamp Set in Tuxedo Black Memento ink, and added a few Clear Adhesive-Backed Glitter Sequins to the scene.  Then I added a subtle touch to the snowy roof and snow surrounding the cabin by bushing clear Wink of Stella Glitter over these areas.  I love how peaceful this card turned out.  

   

The basecard for this card is Smoky Slate Cardstock.  Then a layer of Basic White Cardstock. I cut three 1" X 4" strips of one of the Smoky Slate prints from the Winter Meadow 12" X 12" Designer Series Paper to use under my image block.  Then I cut the center strip of 1" X 4" in half so I could create the illusion of a longer strip of Designer Series Paper in the center.     

Next, I created a square image area using Basic White Cardstock matted in Basic Black and Smoky Slate Cardstock.  I stamped the cabin from the retired Peaceful Cabin Stamp Set in Smoky Slate.  Then I stamped the image of the cabin on a sticky note and cut out a mask to use before stamping the background trees.  I used two trees from the Peaceful Cabin Stamp set on the left side of the cabin, which I stamped in Smoky Slate ink.  I used a trees stamp from the Magical Meadow Stamp Set behind the cabin on the right side.  

 

To finish my card, I stamped a sentiment from the Magical Meadow Stamp Set on below the cabin image using Tuxedo Black Memento ink.  I added a few Adhesive-Backed Glitter Sequins, and I covered the snowy roof and snow on the ground around the cabin using Wink of Steller Clear Glitter.
