To finish the creative process of developing alternative ideas for cards using contents of the January 2024 Lovely lavender Paper Pumpkin Kit, here are two more handmade masterpieces to add to the four eye-catching alternative cards ideas I shared in this earlier blog post. As you recall, the contents of this kit coordinates with the Love of Spring Dies, Item # 164396, as well as the Perennial Lavender Suite, Item #162613, which you'll see I've used in these delightful and versatile cards. If you want to make more cards with your kit, as a Paper Pumpkin subscriber, you can purchase refills for your Lovely Lavender Paper Pumpkin Kit, Item 164384 | $11.50 USD. I used the dies from both the Painted Lavender Bundle and from the Love of Spring Dies on these cards. I've cut the card bases from the kit in half and I'm using these as elements in these cards. I created one card with the daffodil die cuts from Love of Spring, and I created a shaker card as my additional card.
Below, the alternative card idea uses the kit's polka dot basecard cut down to a layer on this card. It's matted with Basic White Cardstock, and mounted on a basecard of Pecan Pie Cardstock.
The image area of Basic White is created using the Everyday Details Dies. The Garden Green leaves in the center is from the Painted Lavender Dies, and the daffodils were created using the dies from the Love of Spring add-on Dies. I colored the Basic White Daffodil die cuts using Garden Green ink with a blender pen, and Daffodil Delight and Pumpkin Pie Blends.
The sentiment banner is a piece of 3/4" Natural Herringbone Ribbon from the Annual Catalog, and the "Thanks" die cut was created from Crumb Cake Cardstock using the retired Amazing Thanks Die. I add a couple of Adhesive-Backed Swirl Dots that will be available to customers from the Stampin' Up! Online Exclusives collection on 5 March.
The next card, below, is a shaker card using one of the preprinted lavender card bases from the Lovely Lavender Paper Pumpkin Kit along with one of the Crumb Cake card bases from the kit used as the base for the shaker card. I placed a clear window sheet over the opening in the basecard, and used Foam Adhesive Strips to outline the opening and the outside of the card.
Then I filled the shaker card opening with a white sequin assortment from my stash and layered the Crumb Cake Polka Dot base, stamped with a floral from the stamp set included in the Lovely Lavender Paper Pumpkin Kit onto the Foam Adhesive Strips. I added a Garden Green Leaves die cut from the Painted Lavender Dies, and added a preprinted Lavender Flower die cut from the Lovely Lavender Paper Pumpkin Kit contents. The "Thanks" die cut was created from Basic White and Gorgeous Grape Cardstock using the retired Amazing Thanks Dies, and I added a few retired Gorgeous Grape Pearls. This is a great way to use up some of the retired items in your stash.
