Shear Happiness using the Crafting Forever stamp set

  • More uses of the Crafting Forever stamp set
  • Hello Lovely collection card class

Sheer Happiness

This is the second card I've made with the new Crafting Forever set so you'll have a sneak peek at some great ideas for this set, available June 1.   Take a look at yesterday's post for another idea for using this set.  The images in this set are shown further down in this post.  I used the scissors image on today's card I was sending a note to my mom about all of the crafts she used to do that gave me the crafting gene.  I can't wait to use this card with my hair dresser or for my sisters.  I'm probably going to use one of the alphabet sets to create sentiments such as, "Stay Sharp" or " Shear Elegance" or something else punny.

2017-2018 new catalog Sneak Peek

I chose Crumb Cake and Very Vanilla and Early Espresso for my color pallet today.  The sentiment and scissors are both stamped in Early Espresso.  The image and sentiment blocks are both matted in Early Espresso.  I also used one of the tea lace doilies from the Occasions catalog as an accent on this card.  I'm so sad that these tea lace doilies from are sold out, but you can still order the Delicate White Doilies (141701) from the current catalog.

2017-2018 new catalog Sneak Peek

The Crumb Cack background layer is dry embossed with the new Oh My Stars (143710) Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, available in the new June 1 catalog.  I can see all kinds of possibilities for this embossing folder, and I'll be using it quite a bit, I'm sure.  One added bonus with this set is a very small stamps with the Stampin' Up! copyright on it.  This is perfect for stamping the back of cards, and it means I'll probably keep this set long after it retires.

Crafting Forever stamp set

  • Crafting Forever with Berry Burst Pens
  • Project Life Hello Lovely collection

Crafty Pens

I saw this new stamp set in April, ordered it right away, and then it sat on my stamp shelf until today.  You can see the images in this set further down in this post.  I used the three pens today, but can't wait to use some of the other images later this week.

It took me a while to figure out how best to color the pen images.  I started with ink and Aqua Painter and found it to be kind of hard to control the details.  Then I reached for the new In Color Markers and found the colors too saturated and I lost the details of the small images on each pen.  Then I reached for my water color pencils and that seemed to be the best option for coloring the pens.  However, the colors were a little dull when I finished, so I grabbed my Aqua Painter and just barely touched each watercolor pencil area to make the colors pop.   We don't have In Color watercolor pencils, but I think the Melon Mambo,  Old Olive and Basic Gray worked well on this card.

The card is accented with a 1/2" Berry Bright Finely Woven Ribbon tab.  The sentiment is stamped in Night of Navy, as is the image of the 3 pens.

The basecard is Basic Black, accented with a Berry Burst Fresh Florals Designer Series Paper Stack.  The image block rectangle is Whisper White and Berry Burst cardstock.  The oval image block is die cut with the Layering Ovals dies using the Big Shot Die Cut machine.  The Whisper White oval is matted with a scalloped Basic Black oval. The sentiment is stamped on a Stitched Shapes Oval

I did a version to use as a Graduation card with a sentiment from the Teeny Tiny Wishes set and some of the Glitter Enamel Dots.

Powder Pink Daisy and White Roses card

  • Daisy in Powder Pink and white embossing
  • New Daisy Punch
  • Upcoming class with Hello Lovely Project Life set

Powder Pink Daisy

I continued working with the new In Color Powder Pink again today.  I used both the Wood Woods stamp set and the Daisy Delight Stamp Set.  The delicate flowers from the Wood Woods stamp set and the Daisy are both heat embossed in White embossing powder.

The basecard is in Powder Pink, then a layer of Whisper White and then an image layer in Powder Pink.   The daisy is also stamped on Powder Pink cardstock and heat embossed in white.

The card is accented with a 1/2" Powder Pink Finely Woven Ribbon.  The sentiment is stamped in Night of Navy, and the sentiment is from the Rose Wonder stamp set.  The size of the Thank You in Rose Wonder was a better fit for my card than the Thank You from the Daisy Delight stamp set.

The close-up of the card below, shows the new Clear Faceted Gems used in the center of the flower.  The Daisy is actually a double layer.  The new Daisy punch was used to punch out the two Daisies which were layered together and popped up on a dimensional.  I also curled the edged of the Daisy with a bone folder to add a little curl to the Daisy.

Now I'm anxious to try this same card with Silver embossing and another version with Gold embossing.  I think both will be stunning!

Recipe:

Stamp: Daisy Delight, Wood Words, Rose Wonder (Sentiments)
Ink:  Night of Navy,
Paper:  Powder Pink, Whisper White
Accessories:   Daisy Punch, Stampin' White Embossing Powder, Embossing Buddy, Heat Tool, 1/2" Powder Pink Finely Woven Ribbon, Stampin' Scrub, Stampin' Mist, Multipurpose Liquid Glue, Dimensionals
