With the final week of the two current Stampin' Up! Catalogs coming to a close, creating with favorites products before they retire is a fitting way to say farewell. Distressed Gold Specialty Paper, Vellum Cardstock, Gold Trim and Natural Prints Dies will soon be gone but not forgotten, as they join Stampin' Up! retired favorites. However, the Stippled Roses Stamp Set and Dies will happily carry forward in the upcoming Annual Catalog launch. Today's color theme is Gold and Wild Wheat. The monochromatic roses were stamped in Wild Wheat Ink and then colored with Light Wild Wheat Blends. The trick to working with Vellum is to only apply glue under images, as glue or Glue Dots will show through the Vellum Cardstock. The sentiment label is die cut using one of the Natural Prints Dies, and the sentiment is from the Stippled Roses Stamp Set. The die cut leaves are from the Stippled Roses Dies. The bow is gold Trim from the Simply Elegant Trim pack. The Stippled Roses Stamp Set and Dies will carry over as individual items in the 2024-2025 Annual Catalog. You can purchase the Stamp set and dies as a bundle until April 30 at a 10% savings. After 1 May, the stamp set and dies will be sold as individual items without the 10% savings. This card design goes together quickly. The basecard is Thick Basic White Cardstock. The entire front is covered with a layer of Distressed Gold 12" X 12" Specialty Paper. Then, the image area is Vellum Cardstock. The images are layered onto the cardstock before adding the cardstock to the Distressed Gold layer, as you want to be able to hide your glue and or Glue Dots behind the images so it doesn't through through the Vellum Cardstock.
The Stippled Roses image was stamped on Basic White Cardstock using Wild Wheat Ink and die cut using the Stippled Roses Dies. Then, the roses were colored using Light wild Wheat Blends. The leaves were not colored to provide contrast to the roses. The Stippled Roses Dies were also used to die cut leaves from the Distressed Gold 12" X 12" Specialty paper and tucked under the roses die cut. The Roses were popped up on Dimensionals before adding it to the Vellum layer, then the entire vellum layer with dies cut roses and sentiment were added to the Distress Gold Basecard.
