Remarkable You stamp set from Stampin' Up!

  • Remarkable You in Powder Pink
  • 4 days remain to order retiring items

Powder Pink Lilies

Today's card uses one of our current stamp sets that will carry over to the new catalog with new papers and inks...and I'm loving it!  I'm using the Remarkable You set with the new Pink Powder and Lemon Lime Twist ink.  I used a masking technique on the lilies before stamping the branches.  To color the lilies I started with an ink pad and aqua painter and then I added a bit of light, light, light Mellon Mambo watercolor pencil to fill in what I had missed with an aqua painter.

I used the new Powder Pink cardsotck for my base card, a Whisper White layer, and then one of the Powder Pink designs from the Fresh Florals Designer Series Paper packs.  The sentiment and image layer is Whisper White.  If I'm stamping the sentiment on the image block, I'll usually stamp my sentiment first -- especially if it is a large sentiment-- to ensure I have enough room for it before I do the rest of my stamping.  Also, when stamping Archival Basic Black, which tends to remain wet longer than our regular fast drying inks, I'll keep a paper towel handy to blot my black stamping before I handle the card.

I used a Daffodil Delight watercolor pencil to accent the flower center, and I used Old Olive on the lily stems.

The corner of the image layer is accented with the new Glimmer Enamel dots in three sizes. I love that they are on acetate so that you can align them on your card by laying the acetate over the area where you plan to transfer the dots and use the dots that remain as a positioning guide.   These glimmer dots are going to be big sellers!  I can't get enough of them!  I squeal and smile every time I pick them up!

Recipe:

Stamp:  Remarkable You
Ink:  Lemon Line Twist, Basic Black Archival, Powder Pink
Paper:   Whisper White, Powder Pink, Fresh Florals Designer Series Paper Stack

New Items Sneak Peek

This is the Glitter Enamel Dots.  They are adhesive-backed dots in Ombre shades.  10 each in 4 colors including Dapper Denim, Crushed Curry, Berry Burst, and Old Olive.  The hues make it easy to match these dots with many of our colors, such as the Powder Pink I matched it with on toady's cards.

Glitter Enamel Dots

These were so popular, they sold out during the Demonstrator preview order period.  Stampin' Up! worked hard with the vendor to get these back in stock, and our supplies will be replenished by June 5.

4 days to get Retiring Items

With only a few days remaining, you may want to look through the catalog one last time and check the Retiring Merchandise List.  I picked up one of the holiday bundles that will carry over to the new catalog saving myself 10%.

The bundles that will carry over to the new catalog (bundles = stamp sets and matching dies or punches), will still be available for purchase, after May 31, but the bundle pricing goes away and you'll pay full price for these coordinating items..  Until May 31, you can purchase bundles with the 10% discount.  June 1, the special pricing goes away.

Lovely Words Thinlit Dies from Stampin' Up!

  • Lovely WOrds Dies Sneak Peek
  • 6 days remain to order retiring items

Lovely Words Thinlit Dies

Today I'm playing with another item from the demonstrator preorder, the Lovely Words Thinlit.  This new die includes three dies spelling, "Friend," "Hugs," and "Lovely".  I've used two of the words on today cards.  This new die will be available soon, when the new Stampin' Up! catalog is released June 1.  I've paired this with the new Daisy Delight stamp set and one of the new In Colors, Lemon Lime Twist.

Lovely Words Thinlit Dies

I stamped the new Daisy Delight flower on Whisper White and then on Lemon Lime Twist, and punched out the Lemon Lime Twist Daisy with the new Daisy Punch.  I also used the new Lovely Words Thinlit die to create the sentiment for the cards, cutting the words out of Basic Black Cardstock and then mounting it on a scalloped circle or oval of Lemon Lime Twist.  I like to stamp the Daisy twice, offsetting the second from the first, to give it a fuller look. I stamped the center in Basic Black and then accented the Lemon Lime Twist Daisy with one of the new, Clear Faceted Gems.

Also using Daisy Delight flower stamp set and coordinating Daisy Punch

Below you can see two of the die cut words together on the two cards, Friend and Hugs.   You can see all three of the dies later in this post.  The new Faceted Gems come in either Clear or Gold.  I've gravitated towards the Clear more than the Gold, but I know I'll be order more of both these new embellishments when  the full catalog becomes available to customers and demonstrators June 1.  Although demonstrators can place preorders now, we are limited to only a few of the new items and we, like our customers, must wait for June 1 before we can order all of the new items from the catalog.

I think these  new dies are going to be very popular in the new catalog.  While the dies cut the inner edge, they do not cut the outer edge.  I used the Layering Ovals or the Layering Circle dies to cut the boarder for the words.  This means the dies could be used to cut only the word and oval, or round shape out of a full layer, making this a perfect set for creating shaker cards or word windows.

Be sure to add this to your June 1 new catalog wish list.    Want to receive your new catalog?    If you've purchased form me in the past year, you've received your new catalog in the mail.  Haven't order from me before?  Place a $25 order designating me as your demonstrator and your new catalog will be on its way.

Another Hello Lovely card

Hello Lovely

I was busy today preping for my Hello Lovely class this week end.   I just love this scrapbooking card collection set.  And if you choose to use the collection for cards, instead of scrapbook pages, you'll find this collection makes wonderful greeting cards.

As I looked through the Hello Lovey card collection remaining after putting together cards for the class, I decided to make one more card with this set.  In the Hello Lovely Accessory Pack, I found an acetate sheet that I used as a layer between the base card and the image block.  I trimmed it so the White pluses showed at the bottom of the page.  I used Soft Sky for this card, although Pool Party would have worked just as well.  The flower in this image compliments both colors.

Make wonderful cards using the Hello Lovely Project Life card collection

The sentiment block is matted with a Stitched Shape Circle Die cut.  The sentiment itself is part of a stamp from the Everyday Tags stamp set from the Occasions catalog.  I stamped the sentiment in Soft Sky to keep the overall soft feel of this card.  The sequins are also from the Hello Lovely Project Life Accessory kit.  I used one of the small circles from the Layering Circle Framelit set to cut only the words from this sentiment stamp.  I added a 1/2 " Very Vanilla Lace Trim bow to the corner of the image block.

Hello Lovely Project Life Class - May 28

This is the class I'm holding this week end, May 28, using the Hello Lovely Project Life card collection and Accessory pack.  We'll make 8 cards and a frameable 12 X 12 art page in this class.

A bonus that I decided to add today is a ninth card--the card I posted today!

Some cards are preprinted with sentiments.  Others, like today's card,  can be customized to make them usable for your upcoming occasions.

8 cards we'll make during class; plus materials to make more on your own

You'll receive and use both the main Hello Lovely collection and the accessory pack.  The main Hello Lovely collection includes over 100 cards in a variety of 3 X 4,  4 X 4 and 4 X 6 sizes.  We'll make the cards above, and you'll have plenty of left overs to make more cards or scrapbook pages on your own.

The Hello Lovely accessory pack includes a 12 piece photopolymer stamp set, 11-double sided 2 X 2" cards, 12 wood shapes that can be water colored to match your cards or scrapbook pages, paper die cuts, acetate overlays, enamel stickers, washi tape, sequins and 2 sets of alphabet letters.

We'll also use cards from this Project Life kit to make this frameable 12 X 12" art page pictured below.
