Climbing Orchad stamp set from Stampin' Up!

  • Which are your favorite?  Striped or Spotted Orchids?
  • Daisy punch is back in stock!

Daffodil Delight Orchids

Today I'm playing with another new stamp set called Climbing Orchid and its coordinating die set called Orchid Builder Framelits.  I wasn't aware that orchids came in so many colors.  From plain, ordinary white to every shade of the rainbow!.  Also, orchids come in different shading and tones and this wonderful stamp set is full of stamps that create different orchid looks in both stripes or spots.

I choose Daffodil Delight with Berry Burst accents for my first use of this set.  I can't wait to try other color combinations!

I used a base card of Fresh Fig with a coordinating Fresh Fig ribbon.  The accent layers were Crumb Cake and Soft Suede and the image block is Very Vanilla.  The sentiment is also from the Climbing Orchid set.

The Very Vanilla image block is dry embossed with the new Pinewood Planks Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.  The flowers are stamped with Berry Burst ink.  The stems and sentiment are stamped in Soft Suede.  I love the look of these orchids.  This set is going to get a lot of  use, I predict.   One other note:  I haven't played with Fresh Fig, one of the new In Colors, until today.  Looking at it in the package, it just didn't do anything for me.  However, when paired with other colors, Fresh Fig takes center stage!  It becomes a rich, warm compliment that I'm really beginning to love.

Recipe for card:

Stamps: Climbing Orchid
Ink:  Berry Burst, Soft Suede

Fun with Daisies

  • Daisy punch is back in stock!
  • June 25 class

More fun with Delightful Daisy Suite

Finally!...I was so happy to learn earlier today that the very popular Daisy Punch was back in stock.

So today's card is another idea for using the Daisy punch, the coordinating stamp, and Delightful Daisy Designer Series Paper (DSP).  Yeah!  I love playing with this set.  The Designer Series Papers coordinate with both bold as well as muted cardstock colors.  I happen to be drawn towards the bolder colors, but I've seen so many wonderful card samples on Pinterest or in the Stampin' Up! Facebook demonstrator sites that use softer colors with this set.  You will definitely want this stamp set and punch bundle on your stamping shelves because it works for so many occasions.

I used the a colorful paper in the Delightful Daisy Designer Series Paper because it used so many yummy colors to work with.  I pulled out the Peekaboo Peach and used a layer of cardstock to highlight that color in this pattern. I also stamped the Daisy in Peekaboo Peach on Whisper White and punched it out with the Daisy punch.  I layered two of the stamped Daisies together to give it more fullness.

My basecard is Wisteria Wonder.  The Daisy stem is stamped in Old Olive.  I curved the stamp on my clear block rather than stamping it straight.  I love that our Photopolymer stamps allow you to curve your stamps to fit different situations.   The center of the Daisy is a new Clear Faceted Gem.
I added a small bow made from the new 1/8" Calypso Coral Sheer Ribbon, which picks up another color in this daisy DSP print.  The sentiment is stamped using words and a boarder from the Thoughtful Banners stamp set.  Then the Classic Label punch was used to punch out the label.

Recipe for card:

Stamps: Daisy Delight, Thoughtful Banners(Sentiment)
Ink:  Peekaboo Peach, Old Olive
Paper: Whisper White, Wisteria Wonder, Peekaboo Peach, Delightful Daisy Designer Series Paper
Accessories:  1/8" Calypso Coral Sheer Ribbon, Clear Faceted Gem, Daisy Punch, Classic Label Punch, Multipurpose Glue, Dimensionals, Mini Dimensionals
