Sneak Peek of Halloween Spooky Cat bundle availalbe Sept 1

  • Fun with New Cat Punch
  • August 20 Card Class

Stampin' Up! Spooky Night Suite

I wasn't sure what I wanted to play with in my Kraft room today, but  my dippy dog ate a whole bag of orange jelly beans I had sitting on the edge of my craft table after I filled these cute Treat Tubes and the clear treat bag and I decided I better photography these Halloween items before my dog gets a hold of any more of my samples.   Today I'm working with the new Cat punch, the Spooky Night Designer Series Paper (DSP) and the Spooky Cat stamp set.  This is a sneak peek of some of the Halloween products coming out in the upcoming Holiday Catalog on September 1.  To me, Halloween is all about threat packaging.  Stampin' Up! has given us many great items to create holiday packaging that will delight everyone who receives your treats this year!

Halloween treat holders using clear tiny treat boxes and treat tubes

Above, I've added a punched cat in Basic Black to one of our Clear Tiny Treat Boxes filled with jelly beans.  A perfect little treat.  I had a small metal pail to which I added a band in the Spooky Night Designer Series Paper.  Then I stamped a tag from the Spooky Cat stamp set and added a sentiment from that same set, and attached the tag to the DSP band using glue dots.  The pail I used already had pumpkin faces.  However, the Pick a Pumpkin set and coordinating Patterned Pumpkins Thinlit set in the Holiday catalog can be used to create pumpkin faces to decorate your container.

Below, you can see some of the cats I punched and stamped.  I added them to the new Jute Twine, another sneak peek items from the upcoming Holiday catalog. One of the patterns in the Spooky Night Designer Series Paper includes cats that can be punched out using the new Cat Punch.  You'll have fun creating with both the stamp set and the Designer Series Paper.

Treat Tubes and Clear Tiny Treat Boxes available in the Holiday catalog

I filled the Treat Tubes with Orange and Black jelly beans and candy corn and then used a pumpkin pail I had in my stash to display them.  The Treat Tubes include cork stoppers and are food safe.

Think of the cute holiday displays you'll quickly create using just a few of the new items you'll be able to purchase beginning September 1.  With only 8 weeks from Sept 1 to Halloween, you'll want to order these Halloween items as soon as possible when they become available.

Sneak Peek of Halloween projects using new Stampin' Up! products available September 1 2017

The cat punch and the coordinating Spooky Cat stamp set will be available as a bundle saving you 10% when purchased together.  I didn't finish my samples until after dark, so my photos are full of shadows.  I can't wait until I can photograph these fun projects in natural light tomorrow.

Holiday Card with Oh, What Fun Stamp set from Stampin' Up!

  • Oh, What fun ... getting a jump on Christmas Cards
  • Join us for August 20 Card Class

Oh, What Fun stamp set

There are many Holiday stamp sets and a Holiday Designer Series Paper in the annual Stampin' Up! catalog which means you can get a start on your Holiday cards now rather than waiting for the September 1 release of the Holiday catalog.  Today I pulled together a fast Holiday card that will can be made quickly if you have a long holiday list to make cards for.   I pulled out the Oh, What Fun stamp set and the Be Merry Designer Series Paper pack and put together a charming holiday card, ready for my holiday mailing list.

Close up of the image layer and sentiment fo this hand made card

I also looked for a way to stretch my materials.  If you first look at the card, you would think that that there are seven layers to this card.  I actually thought about how to create the Garden Green circle without using any additional cardstock, and ended up cutting it from the center of the left over Garden Green scalloped frame.  Instead of making that a solid layer, I used the large scallop square and the next size square thinlit to cut the scallop frame.  Then from the remaining Garden Green square, I used two of the Layering Circles thinlits to cut a circle frame rather than cutting separate layers for all of these pieces.

Layering Squares and Layering Cirlces Thinlits add accents to the image layer of this handmade card.

I used  a Garden Green basecard, a Whisper White layer, and then I cut the Be Merry Pattern into 3 sections.  Then I layers a piece of Silver Metallic ribbon  under the sentiment block.

I used the Laeyring Squares thinlits to create the Garden Green scalloped layer and then created a smaller square Whisper White image layer.  Because the jingle bell image was so small -- the set is meant to create tags -- I used another stamps from the set to add the squiggles to the top and bottom of the jingle bell image.  The image still appeared a bit small, so I used two of the Layering Circles thinlits to create a circle frame to accent the hingle bell image.

Layring Squares and Layering Cirlcles add accents to this cards' sentiment

I used  a the Merry Christmas from the Teeny Tiny Sentiments set, stamped it in Garden Green, and punched it out with the Classic Label Punch.  A small silver Metallic Enamel Shape accents the sentiment
