Stampin' Up! Blooms & Bliss cards and matching treat box tutorial

  • Blooms & Bliss cards and treat Box
  • Stampin' Up! Paper Pumpkin BOGO - Aug 11-Oct 10 2016
  • Video Tips for using Stampin' Up! Fast Fuse adhesive
  • Stampin' Up! Holiday catalog is coming in September

Blooms and Bliss Designer Series Paper

Stampin' Up! Blooms and Bliss DSP whimsical florals make lovely treat holders and card sets.  I used the  Blooms and Wishes stamp set and the Blossom Builder Punch alone with the Bunch of Blossoms three step stamp set for the more accents on this card and matching treat box.

Here's another card using Blossom Builder Punch that uses the same color combinations and uses papers from the Playful Pallet Designer Series Paper Stack.  I'm really in love with Sweet Sugarplum and all the coordinating Stampin' Up! papers.  Click the image for a larger view.

Stampin' Up! Blooms & Bliss Treat Box Tutorial

This is a small treat box made to match these two cards. It's easy to make using the Stampin' Up! Simply Scored Scoring Tool (122334).  I added another flower made with the Blossom Builder Punch and Bunch of Blossoms stamp set so that it coordinates with the two cards.

Above is the finished treat box

Here's what the treat box looks like without the Blossom Builder flower attached.

The treat box opens in the center and is made from a 4-1/4 X 11 sheet of card stock.  Using the Stampin' Up! Simply Scored Scoring Tool, score:

  •  the long side of the 4-1/4 X 11 card stock at 7/8", 2-3/4", 3-3/4"; then flip the long side around and score from the other end of the long side 7/8", 2-3/4" and 3-3/4" on the opposite end of the long side.
  • The short side of the 4-1/4 X 11 card stock at 1", then flip the short side around and score at 1" on the opposite end of the short side.
  • Cut two 1" X 4-1/4" pieces of card stock.  These two pieces will be used to reinforce the open ends of the base of the box.
  • Score the 1" X 4-1/4" pieces on the long side at 1".  Then flip it to the opposite long side and score this long side at 1"
  • Cut up the sides to the score lines, mitering the smallest tabs
  • Cut in to the score lines at the ends.  Fold the ends in and glue
  • Glue the sides
  • Add 1- 4-1/4 pieces to each open end of the base box.
  • Add DSP
  • Add embellishments / flower to the cover.  I used a circle punch as the base for the flower and only glued 1/2 of the circle to one side of the opening.

The box is hinged on both ends and folds opened and closed from the center.  You'll want to use Fast Fuse to glue the box together.  The Designer Series Paper is applied with Tombal liquid glue.

We have so many news stamp sets and thinlits introduced with the new 2016-2017 Stampin' Up! catalog in June.  Its so much fun to try different combinations.

I finished another set of treat boxes
using this same treat box design as above, a happy birthday banner and matching card that I'll post tomorrow. Make sure you're signed up for my blog to receive my updates in you email.

Tips for using your Fast Fuse Adhesive

Here's a video to help you get the most from your Fast Fuse adhesive. Fast Fuse is a great adhesive for holding small boxes like the one shown above or where you need tape with a holding power greater than a standard Glue runner or  liquid glue.  With Fall crafting season about to begin, you'll be making lots of cute treat packages and hand made gifts in addition to cards and matching envelopes.  Be sure to add Fast Fuse adhesive to your next order.

September creeps closer for new Holiday Catalog
