Halloween Treats using Stampin' Up! Toil & Trouble Pumpkins

Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog Sneak Peek

I'm still on a Halloween kick with the Stampin' Up! Toil & Trouble Designer Series Paper, and the Cat Punch.  The Cat Punch is from the annual Stampin' Up! Catalog, and the Toil & Trouble Designer Series Paper is from the Holiday Catalog.  Today I'm using a print that includes these wonderful pumpkins.  Additionally, I'm using the Everyday Label Punch, which works with the Labels to Love stamp set.  I also made a Halloween treat bag with the 2" X 8" cellophane bags tied with the Black 1/8" Cord trim from the annual Stampin' Up! catalog.

I also used the 1/8" Black Cord trim and a Copper Brad to fashion a hanger for the tag on the card.  I used the 1/2" satin ribbon to create a bow running under the cat.

The Metallic brads from the annual catalog include Copper, Gold, Rose Gold, and Silver brads.I used the paper piercer from the new Take Your Pick tool to pierce a hole for the brad, and I used the putty end to easily pick up and position the Copper Brad.

Directions for today's card:

  • Cajun Craze basecard
  • Next layer is Basic Black and a print from the Toil & Trouble paper pack
  • The cat is punch out of Pumpkin Pie using the Cat Punch
  • The black bow on the card is created using the 1/2" Black Satin Ribbon

  • The sentiment tag used on both the card and the treat bag is stamped twice on Whisper White.  Once using Pumpkin Pie and a second time using Tuxedo Black Memento ink.  The word "Halloween" is carefully cut from the Pumpkin Pie tag and used on the Basic Black Tag
  • Tape the 1/8" Black Cord  to the back of the tag, pop the tag up on dimensionals, and center the cord on a Copper Brad.  Use the paper-piercer end on the Take Your Pick tool to make a hole for the brad
  • For the treat bag, make a second tag, fill the 2" X 8" Cellophane Bag with candy, tie the top of the bag with more of the 1/8" Black Cord, and attach the tag with glue dots.

New, Take Your Pick Tool

Another cool item from the Stampin' Up! Holiday catalog is the Take Your Pick multipurpose pickup and precision tool.  What do you mean by "multipurpose" tool?   It does a lot more than one thing!

This new tool has a tacky putty tip, which helps you easily pick up sequins, paper accents and other small objects.  Twist the dispenser and more putty appears.  But there's more to this new Stampin' Up! tool!

The other end of this tool includes a mini spatula to help you lift small items like pearls and rhinestones.  This tip is removable and when you turn it around, it becomes a paper piercer.  You can remove and replace this end with another end which includes a small stylus on one end or a larger stylus on the other end.  In addition, the Take Your Pick tool comes with a second Take Your Pick Putty Refill.  And when that runs out, you can order additional Take Your Pick Putty Refills separately.  What an incredibly useful little tool!  Check it out on Page 30 of your new Holiday Catalog.   Just one more item you'll want to add to your Wish List from the Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog!

I would love to be your Demonstrator if you don't have one!  Need a Holiday catalog?  Contact me and I'll put one in the mail to you if you live in the US.

Halloween Treat Tube Holder with Spooky Cat from Stampin' Up!

  • Halloween Treats
  • Free Holiday Catalog Download

Halloween Treat ideas

I haven't posted for a while, as I've been busy creating and was busy this week end with visiting family.  We had so much fun!. Can't wait until they visit again!  This week end I created these cute little treat holders, inspired by Jackie Beers, at BLueLineStamping.com.  The hold the new Stampin' Up Treat Tubes from the Holiday catalog.  I added them to a collection of Halloween cards and treats packages I've been working on.

I think they are a fun addition to the Halloween display I've been working in.

Fall and Holiday themes have always been my favorite to create.  Imagine the fun of sending these cute cards to say "Hi" to someone, or the fun treats to handout to Halloween trick or treaters.

I have used Basic Black and Pumpkin Pie for most of my Halloween project so far.  This project added two additional colors.  Rich Razzleberry and and Lemon Lime Twist.

I've use Rich Razzleberry as the base for this little treat holder for the Treat Tubes. The top is punched with the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch. Then I used Spooky Night Designer Series Paper to decorate the treat holder.  I've filled the treat tubes with different kinds of candies to see which fits in the tube, and I'm happy to report that many small candies fit perfectly.  Candy Corn, M&Ms and Jelly Beans that match our Stampin' Up! colors have been my favorite.

Trick or Treat Tube Holders using Cat Punch from Stampin' Up!

In the treat holder above, I filled the treat tube with Lemon Lime Twist jelly beans.  (That's what I call them!)  They looked so good, I filled one our our small Clear Tiny Treat Boxes with the jelly beans as well to show you how you can coordinate our colors with the candies of the same colors.  I've decorated this treat holder with the Spooky Night Designer Series Paper.  Looking at this now, I'm going to add a punched Lemon Lime Twist cat using the new cat punch to the treat holder above.

This is a side view of the Treat Tube holder, showing the small layer in the bottom of the folded holder showing how the treat tube is held in position.

Here are dimension for making the holders:

Base cardstock:
Cut to 2 X 9-3/4".  Scored at 1/2, 1-1/2, 3-1/2, 4-1/2

Punch the center of the surface after the second score line with a 3/4" circle punch

Base for holder:
Cut cardstock to 3" X 2".  Score 1/2" all around
Punch a 3/4" hole in the center.
Cut up to score lines on each end.
Fold on score lines and tape ends sides to inside of ends.
I glued the base to the inside of the holder.

Recipe for box:

Ink:  Basic Black Archival
Paper:  Rich Razzleberry, Spooky Night Designer Series Paper
