Welcome the new Stampin' Up! colors to your Stamping Room

In many cases, welcome back some of your favorite in-colors from previous years!  I was so excited!  I had most of the new colors already in my paper supplies!  I never stopped using them because they were among my favorites.  I used them for my personal project.  Now I can use them for my blog projects as well -- and so can you!

Since the last color renovation three years ago, Stampin' Up! has been watching colors closely and continually researches, surveys and monitors sales.  Stampin' Up decided now was the time for a small color refresh just as they promised they would do every three to 5 years.  As you bid farewell to 10 of our colors, you'll welcome back nine of your old In Color favorites, along with one new color.  The color families have also been rearranged a little to keep them on trend.    Without further fanfare, here are the new colors!

Smoky Slate is the new color; the rest of the refreshed colors are favorite In Colors from previous years.

Additionally, these are the In-colors for 2014.

You'll see the new 2014 In-colors in the new catalog, which are great additions to traditional products. You can also order the color swatches of the new In-Colors for your color Color Coach or order the new Color Coach (130118) with a card for every color in the Stampin' Up! collection. We bet you want those new colors for MDS too, right? Good news-the next time you're connected to the Internet, the software will add all seven new colors:

Add these cards to your Color Coach - 130120 - $2.50

    • Baked Brown Sugar
    • Coastal Cabana
    • Crisp Cantaloupe
    • Pistachio Pudding
    • Strawberry Slush

I'll post some samples with these new colors over the next few days.

Retire list for the current catalog still available...you know the drill

Now that the 2013-2014 Stampin' Up! catalog is live, you have only a few more days (Monday, June 3)  to order from the retired list of current stamps and accessories.

Morning Meadow Hostess Set sample from the 2013-2014 Catalog

Here's a card idea from one of the new hostess sets, Morning Meadow.  I can't wait to order the matching punch from the new catalog!  The smaller flowers are from Morning Meadow and until my order from the new catalog arrives, I hand cut the blossoms.  The larger blossom is punched using the Blossom Punch.  Then it was outlined with the White gel pen.

    Recipe
Stamps: Morning Meadow (Hostess) (129678 - Clear; 129675 - Wood)
    Paper:   Whisper White; Basic Black
    Inks:  Black Staz-On

For those of you wondering where I've been.... after a couple months of drama, I'm now back on track..and spent a delightful month playing with new catalog preview products

    Heart break ...and new joy...

We lost our 13-year-old Sheltie after a 5 month battle with liver & gall bladder disease and, finally, he lost the use of his back legs...arthritis.  He was stoic until the end, and left such a large hole in our daily lives.  Dear Husband and I immediately began a puppy search to fill the hole.  After reading through hundreds of puppy listings and talking to numerous breeders, we found our new love, Cookie, an Australian Shepard.  She joined our family the week before I left for Brazil for a 3-city, week-long business trip.  She quickly bonded with DH while I was gone; and when I returned it was like a new love affair.

She's exceptionally bright and mastered potty training in 13-14 weeks.  She started obedience classes at 14 week and we're busy socializing our little Cookie to new experiences, other puppies, and different neighbors and other people.  At 18 weeks she learned to climb stairs to my craft studio so I've been thoroughly distracted as she learns what's hers and what's not hers to play with in my studio and office.

This is Cookie during a recent vet visit.

Creative?  But no time to stamp?  Not anymore!

You love to craft, but it can be quite a process...choose a project, decide what supplies you need, gather everything together, then finally find the time to sit down and create.  Whew-- it can be a lot of work!  Not anymore!

Stampin' Up!'s new membership program, Paper Pumpkin, makes crafting as easy as opening your mail.  When you sign up for Paper Pumpkin, the package arrive in your mail every month, and you'll love the fun packages that included everything you need (stamps, ink, paper, and accessories) except adhesives to create a fun, exclusive crafting project; everything from cards and journals to home decor and more.  Each project is designed to take approximately 30 minutes to create, and everything comes measured and cut.

I already do this with my cosmetics -- and I love the surprise each month of receiving my products without having to wade through catalogs trying to match up what I need.   What a time saver!  And if you ever decide to skip a month because your life is too full to craft, just log on before the 10th and change your setting to skip a month!  This is a fabulous way to have fun in a limited amount of time.  Sign up with your sister, mom or girlfriend and make it a girls night when you all receive your kits each month!

The stamps and accessories in the kit are often exclusive, which means that the only way to enjoy these great products is to be part of the Paper Pumpkin magic!  Paper Pumpkin packages ship on or around the 15th of each month.  Paper pumpkin memberships are only $19.95 US/$24.95 CAN a month (including shipping).  Sign up at my Paper Pumpkin link.  Not sure?  Order our Try the Paper Pumpkin kit at my online store for $16.95 US, Item 132600.

     Online class - download immediately!

Learn how quickly and easily you can line up stamped images for precision placement, achieve the right ink coverage, combine images together exactly where you want them, and more!

Class features the Show & Tell 1 and 2 Stamp Sets, and includes six lessons (Backgrounds, Building, Layering, Versatility, Gift Giving, and Memory Keeping), step-out photos, instructional videos, and instructions and supply lists for 15 projects. Available for download only.  Order "Seeing the Possibilities Online Class" Item #134532 for only $14.95 US

25% off select My Digital Studio (MDS) Print products until June 15.

  • Make and take project from Dallas Regional
  • FINAL HOURS:  Free Sale-A-Bration pick with $50 Order

  • This was one of the make and take's from the Dallas Regional.  I'm planned to save it for St. Patrick's Day, but my schedule has been so busy that Sunday got away from me.  So I'm posting it now.

I hadn't really noticed this stamp set until we used is at the Dallas Regional in Feb 2013. (See previous posts for links to display boards from Dallas Regional)  This set is really growing on me!  It has some funky pieces that add variety to your projects.   This is a great card layout to get you out of a rut.  The Stampin' Spritzer and the circle template filled in with sponge daubers reminded me of how much fun when I first started stamping...oh so many years ago!  Sponge daubers are still one of my favorite tools.  So simple; yet so versatile.  This card looks like it has so many more layers than it really does.

    Recipe
Stamps: Clockworks(127290-W; 127292-C and it is also available as a digital download)
Paper:   Whisper White, Basic Gray, Pool Party

    Ideas to Stretch your Creativity

    • Ingredients for Creativity - By the Tide stamp set + ribbons
    • Fully Customizable Starter Kit gives you $150 worth of product for $99!
What you make is up to you.  I couldn't agree more!  I saw this simple card in Stampin' Success this month (a magazine for Stampin 'Up! demonstrators) and I couldn't wait to make it -- because of its simplicity. It included all the ingredients for using my own creativity.  I copied the first card. Then I turned around and made 3 more -- each with a little twist from the original -- another sentiment, different ribbons, and different placement of the elements.  Quick, easy, ...and now I have four masculine cards ready to go.

Here's the original card -- well, not exactly, I mounted my card on Chocolate Chip.  The sample used only one base layer of Very Vanilla.  Instead of Very Vanilla, I've been on a Naturals Ivory cardstock kick, so my background card uses Naturals Ivory.

    Recipe
Stamps: By the Tide - 2013 spring catalog (129117-w; 129120-c), Teeny Tiny Wishes
    Paper:   Chocolate Chip, Naturals, Ivory
    Inks:  Chocolate Chip
Accessories:  1-1/4" Punch; 1-3/8" square punch

To place an order: Visit my Stampin' Up! Store

This is a great starter set if you are just getting started stamping.  The Dallas Regional had many card ideas using this set on display.  I posted some of the display board photos in my last post.

Here are a few more samples made with this same stamp set.

This card just scattered the 3 square blocks a little differently and used a different sentiment Stamp from Blooming with Kindness (126422-c).

Here's all 4 of the card together.  Click for a larger image.

Next are the final two close ups of the alternative cards.  I love the ribbons on these final cards.  Most ribbons on cards are a little too feminine for a masculine card.  However the two I used are perfect for male cards.

This card uses the 7/8" Cotton Ribbon (127844) ... a carry over from the Holiday Catalog that we can still purchase using the item number above.  You can also find it in the back of the Spring Catalog.  The Hello sentiment is from Lacy & Lovely (122887-c)

This card uses the 7/16" natural trim ribbon.  It looks like burlap, but it's made of flax and cotton.  The Thank You sentiment is also from Lacy & Lovely (122887-c)

Fully Customizable Starter Kit gives you $150 worth of product for $99!

If you are placing an order for ~$100, consider this.  You can become a  hobby demonstrator, and order your entire order as a "Starter Kit", plus, until March 22, the end of Sale-a-Bration, you’ll get 25% more products for FREE in your Starter Kit!  That's ~$150 worth of merchandise for $99!  Find out more and take advantage of this limited-time offer.
As a hobby demonstrator, you place your future orders at a 20% discount; 30% off your first order as a demonstrator.  Plus, with Stampin' Up!, you have access to not only all of the card samples and 2,000+ videos on Stampin' Connection, Stampin' Up! hosts additional regional events, yearly Conventions and on-line tutorials and free training that will quickly grow your Stampin' skills.  So shop today to take advantage of this special.

    Getting creative with Valentine stamps

    • More Cellophane Treat Bag ideas
    • Free Sale-A-Bration products for every $50 you spend
    • Dallas Region - February 16 -- Just 6 more days to sign up

Today I'm going to show you how to use alternate stamps to make the same project I showed yesterday.  Yesterday's post showed a treat sample using a stamp that was one of the Single Stamp Specials and was offered only for a limited time.  You can make the same Valentine project with many different stamps.  I pulled from current sets and retired sets.  You could also create images from your digital downloads and make hybrid projects (tradition and digital images).  Don't miss out again!.  Get these new single Stamps today, while they are still available.

Here are some additional samples of the Cellophane treat bags using the same color combinations, die cuts and ribbon as I used for yesterday's project

My original project used the Love Stamp, (132334) one of the limited time-offered Single Stamps, It also used the Hearts a Flutter Stamp set (w-129249, c-129252) from the Spring Catalog.  That's the sample on the far left.

I checked my own stash of stamps.  I admit, I haven't been good about getting rid of all my old stamps, so I found not only current stamps, but also a few retired sets that all work well with this quick and easy design.

First the current stamps:  The sample on the left uses You are loved (w-123777; c-123779) from the main catalog,  Hearts a Flutter (w-129249- C129252) from the Spring catalog, and the sentiment is Teeny Tiny Wishes.  I also used the Modern label stamp from the Affection Collection set from the Holiday mini (no longer available), but the sentiment would look just as good stamped and punched with the modern label punched and the edges sponged with Cherry Cobbler.  I used the heart punch on the heart stamp from the You are loved set to get the shape and size I needed for this design.   I'm really pleased with how this one tuned out.

The sample on the right uses the another stamp from the You are loved set from the main catalog, and Hearts a Flutter. from the Spring mini  One tip on this sample... I cut the Hearts a Flutter heart apart and let some show on the bottom and some show on the top of the "Love " label.

Next - retired stamps:  If you're stamping on a budget, a great place to find bargain stamps is in the Clearance Rack.  Stampin' Up recently starting offering retired stamps along with their retired papers and accessories.  Look for the P.S. I love you set (w-125460) and order it from my Stampin' Up! store today to finish your Valentine projects.  The sample on the left uses the heart from P.S. I love you.  The sample on the right is the same except I added  the "Love" sentiment from Affection Collection set (127946).  I love how you can mix and match stamps from different sets, from different catalogs and even from different years and still come up with great - looking projects.  So what are you waiting for?   Get creative!  Dig out those old sets and mix them up with your new sets.  You'll be surprised at how creative you can be once you get started.  Need more sets?  Place an order today to take advantage of the Sale-A-Bration specials going on now.  read more below.
