  • 7 short days until release of Stampin' Up! Holiday catalog

Stampin' Up! coordinates stamps, punches and papers

While I'm waiting for the new Stampin' Up! catalog to go live Sept 1, I've been using up scraps and left overs from other cards.  Here's a card I created with the Blossom Builder Punch and Blooms and Bliss Designer Series Paper..

Stampin' Up! Blooms and Bliss Designer Series Paper and Blossom Builder Punch

I punched a tag using the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch, and then started layering the scrap of Blooms and Bliss Designer Series Paper on Sweet Sugarplum and Rich Razzelberry Card stock.  Click for larger image.

had flowers from another set of cards I made using the Bunch of Blossoms three-step stamp set and they worked perfectly with the color combination I chose for this card.  The sentiment is also from the Bunch of Blossoms stamp set.  It is stamped in Rich Razzelberry ink.

Stamps: Bunch of Blossoms
Ink: Pink Pirouette,  Sweet Sugarplum (Stamped off), Sweet Sugarplum (full strength, Rich Razzelberry (Sentiment)
Paper: Rich Razzelberry, Sweet Sugarplum, Whisper White, Blooms & Bliss DSP

Accessories and tools:  Blossom Builder Punch, Scalloped Tag Topper Punch, 3/8" Sweet Sugarplum Ruched Ribbon, Pearl Basic Jeweles

Bunch of Blossoms card set and treat holder

I think this new card makes a nice card set with the two previous cards I made using the Bunch of Blossoms.  The previous cards and treat holder were described in an earlier post.

Stampin Up! Peaceful Pines Christmas Cards

    • Peaceful Pines Christmas cards
    • Sneak peek from the Stampin' Up! Holiday catalog
    • Stampin' Up! Paper Pumpkin BOGO - Aug 11-Oct 10 2016

    Peaceful Pines

While I'm waiting for the new Stampin' Up! catalog to go live Sept 1, I've been playing with the holiday sets from the existing catalog..  Today, I've pulled out my Peaceful Pines and Perfect Pines Framelits Dies to create a couple of Christmas cards.

Stampin' Up! Peaceful Pines in Sweet Sugarplum

I really like the fact that a three of the stamps include sentiments in addition to three other sentiments and several cut ornaments, packages and stars.  This is really one of the best value sets for Christmas card creation.

Stampin' Up! Peaceful Pines stamp set and Perfect Pines Thinlits

I think I'm going to need to order more gold and sliver embossing powder as I'm really liking the look of this card. I'm going to try it in Silver, next.  The new 3/8" Sugarplum glitter ribbon (available Sept 1) is so easy to work with.  I doubled the ribbon on the bow.  There's a gold enamel star in the gold foil star on top the tree

The sugarplum layer is embossed with the Softly Falling Embossing Folder.

    Stamps: Peaceful Pines
    Ink: Versa-Mark
Paper: Rich Razzelberry,  Gold Foil Sheets, Sweet Sugarplum

Accessories and tools:  Gold enamel star, Metallic Sequin Assortment, Softly Falling Embossing Folder, Perfect Pines Thinlits, 3/8" Sugarplum Glitter Ribbon, Fine Tip Glue Pen, Gold Stampin' Embossing Powder, Embossing Buddy, Heat Tool, Big Shot Die Cut Machine, Precision Base Plate, New Big Shot Platform

    Peaceful Pines on Brick

I had a bunch of left over embossed pieces from the card above and decide to make a quick card from the additional pieces.  This card uses the lovely, luxurious 4/8" Satin Ribbon.  It feels so nice and ties so easily (although I really miss our wide ribbons from years past).  This card uses the Brick Wall embossing folder as well as the Peaceful Pins stamp sets and coordinating Perfect Pines thinlits die set.

    Peaceful Pines with Gold embossing

A few sequins from the Metallic Sequin Assortment complete this card

Sentiments are included as part of the Peaceful Pines stamp set

    Stamps: Peaceful Pines
    Ink: Versa-Mark
Paper: Heavy Whisper White,  Rich Razzelberry,
Accessories and tools:  Metallic Sequin Assortment, Perfect Pines Thinlits, 3/8" Gold Satin Ribbon, Fine Tip Glue Pen, Gold Stampin' Embossing Powder, Big Shot Die Cut Machine, Precision Base Plate, New Big Shot Platform, Embossing Buddy, Heat Tool,

      Gold Poinsettia Christmas Card

      • Thinlits and Framelits create Gold Poinsettia card
      • Sneak peek from the Stampin' Up! Holiday catalog
      • Stampin' Up! Paper Pumpkin BOGO - Aug 11-Oct 10 2016

Gold Poinsettia card using 4 different dies and no stamping

Stampin' Up! has a great punch, called Festive Flower Builder that creates wonderful poinsettias.  However, I've always wanted to create a more delicate looking poinsettia.  I found that the leaf from the May Flowers Framelits really does the trick!  This card is unique in that it requires no stamping, but uses four different Stampin' Up! dies.

Above is a close up of the poinsettia. Full size card is pictured below. I cut eight May Flowers Framelit leaves and positioned them on a 3/4 " circle with hot glue.  You'll need to lay down a layer of hot glue and position the first 4 leaves and then lay down a layer of hot glue on top of the centers of the first four leaves and position the next 4 leaves.  Using Gold foil paper, you are able to bend and mold the shapes of the leaves to get a more realistic look.

Gold Poinsettia using Stampin' Up! Thinlits and Framelits

I added a large gold enamel to the center to finish off the Poinsettia and added a couple more gold enamels for added interested.  I cut two banners using the Banners Framelits.  One in Gold foil and the other in Whisper White.  The Whisper White banner is embossed with the new Pine Bough Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, a sneak peek at one of the new products available in the Holiday Catalog September 1.  The word Peace is also cut from the Gold foil paper using the Christmas Greeting Thinlits.

Its so strange how some cards come together so quickly and make you so happy and others cause you to struggle for hours and still don't hit the right creative mark.  This is one of the easy ones!

      Stamps: None
      Ink: None
Paper: Heavy Whisper White,  Gold Foil Sheets

Accessories and tools:  Gold Enamel Shapes, Christmas Greeting Thinlits, May Flowers Framelits (leaf), Botanical Builder Framelits (modified to simulate pine needles), Banner Framelits, Pine Bough Textured Impressions Embossing Folder

A few more details.  I wanted something that looked like pine needles in addition to the new Pine Bough Textured Impressions Embossing Folder (Available Sept 1).  I found the "fern" die from the Botanical Builders Framelits can quickly be modified to look like pine needles by using your paper snips to make the fern leaves a bit narrower.
