Daisy Delight and Berry Burst Sneak Peek from Stampin' Up!

  • Berry Burst -- good enough to eat
  • Color Theory Suite

New Berry Burst from Stampin' Up!

Ohhh my!  I think I have a new favorite color!.  This is my first card using Berry Burst, one of the new InColors, available June 1 in the new Annual Catalog.  Uhhhmm, Uhhmm, Uhmmm!  What a great new color!  This is a bright, bold, rich addition to the Stampin' Up! color family.  I want to melt it with some cream, add sugar, and eat it over French Vanilla ice cream!   I chose one of the Berry Burst crackled papers from the Color Theory Designer Series Paper Stack and paired it with the Daisy Delight stamp set for today's card.

I used a Berry Burst  basecard and added a background layer of Berry Burst crackle pattern.   The Daisey Delight stamp set was used for both the large Daisey as well as the small daisies stamped as a boarder on the top and bottom of the Whisper White image layer.

It can't be seen in these photos, but the Daisy Delight stamp was stamped twice on the Whisper White background to add fullness before adding the two layers of daisy petals punched using the new Daisy punch.  This stamp set also includes the leaves, two flower centers and a couple of different sentiments, including the one used on the card above.

The photo above used a sentiment from the Crazy About You set, which includes an incredible variety of sentiments and words that can be used to create many different phrases.  The Crazy About You set is on the Retirng List.  The sentiment boarder is from the Rose Garden Thinlit and the Rose Wonder Stamp set.  I cut two of the sentiment panels; one in Lemon Lime Twist and one in Whisper White.  After stamping the sentiment and label boarder, I fussy cut the Whisper White sentiment on the label boarder.  Then I layered it on top of the Lemon Lime Twist die cut sentiment panel.

The center of the Daisy was stamped with one of the detailed stamps in the Delightful Daisy set.  Then a new Clear Faceted Gem was added to the center of the flower.

Recipe:

Stamp: Delightful Daisy, Rose Wonder (label boarder)
Ink:  Basic Black Archival
Paper:  Berry Burst, Lemon Lime Twist, Color Theory Designer Series Paper Stack (6 X 6), Whisper White
Accessories:   Rose Garden Thinlit Dies, Clear Faceted Gem, Standard Cutting Pads, Precision Base Plate, Big Shot Platform, Big Shot Die Cutting Machine, Stampin' Scrub, Stampin' Mist, Multipurpose Liquid Glue, Dimensionals

Color Theory Suite Sneak Peek video from Stampin' Up!

I've shown this video previously, but if you haven't had time to watch it, you'll love seeing this new suite.

Papers in the Color Theory Paper Stack, available June 1

The other new product I'm really excited about are the Gold and Clear faceted gems.

Clear Faceted Gems

I used the Clear Faceted Gem on the Berry Burst card above.  In an earlier card I made with Daisy Delight, I used the Gold Faceted Gems.  I predict that these are going to be very popular.

Delightful Daisy Designer Series paper is Big and Bold

  • Big Bold Butterflies and Daisies Sneak Peek
  • Video showcase of the Wood Suite

Daisies and Big Bold Butterfly

I'm so torn, today, that its hard to focus.  Rather than blog, I'm torn between being outside with my dog, Cookie, enjoying the wonderful weather, the blooming flowers, the soft breeze and the setting sun through the 60 to 70 foot pine tree forest across the street from our home.  But I'm also torn because I want to play in my craft room with the exciting new products that arrived yesterday.  Its all unpacked and organized, yet I keep pulling out the new paper packs and looking at new designs that I missed when I looked at the catalog  photos.  Then I'm torn because I want to finish this post showing you this dramatic, bold card I created with some of the pre-order products.   AHHHHHH!

I know I really shouldn't complain, because I get to do some of each.  Ever want to split yourself into thirds so you can do everything as long as you want to.  (...wasn't there an old movie where someone cloned themselves so they could be everywhere they needed to be and get everything done that they needed or wanted to get done... I'll think of it later.)

The big, bold daisies on the Delightful Daisy Designer Series Paper, a new DSP from the 2017-2i018 catalog coming June 1, begged for a big, bold butterfly.   This beautiful butterfly die from the Butterflies Thinlit set adds just the right drama to the new Delightful Daisy paper.

The colors in the Delightful Daisies Designer Series Paper are Daffodil Delight and Old Olive, so I chose a basecard is Old Olive.

I used the largest die from the Butterflies Thinlit die set to cut a Daffodil Delight detailed butterfly to accent the face of this card. I rolled the wings lightly around a marker to give the butterfly a bit of dimension.  I also added dimensionals to the body of the butterfly to lift it off the page slightly.

This card also showcases the new Old Olive Mini Chevron ribbon, another sneak peek from the 2017-2018 catalog available June 1.

I used a sentiment from the Colorful Seasons Stamp Set--also new-- on a label created using the Rose Garden Thinlit and a border from the Rose Wonder Stamp Set.  The sentiment and border is stamped in Old Olive ink.

The body of the butterfly is accented with four basic pearls.

This card really makes me smile.  There's something about Daffodil Delight that leaves me grinning with pleasure whenever I use it.

Who wouldn't want to receive this card?  It just say, "Smile!" "Happy Spring!" or "Enjoy the Sunshine!"   You'll want to add the Delightful Daisy Designer Series Papers to your new catalog Wish List to order on June 1.  The wonderful designs below are all included in this paper pack.

Seasonal Layers Thinlit Dies Sneak Peek

  • Sneak Peek of the Seasonal Layers Thinlit
  • Color Suite Video and Paper stack video peeks
  • Three weeks remain to order items on the Retiring list

Seasonal Layers Thinlit Dies from Stampin' Up!

In case you missed my earlier card using the Colorful Seasons stamp set and coordinating Seasonal Layers Thinlit, here is another card using that set.  It is a totally different look than my earlier card, yet both use the new Color Theory suite of products.

I used Basic Black for the basecard.  The background layer uses the Fresh Flowers Designer Stack in Lemon Lime Twist.  Take a look at the video below to see the other colors this stack comes in.  The two chairs were cut from Basic Black cardstock using the Seasonal Layers Thinlit Dies.  They are layered on a piece of Color Theory Designer Series Paper Stack with a Lemon Lime Twist matt.  This paper is gradated shades of green from darker to lighter.

I LOVE the detail in these leaves.  Coordinates with detailed leaf stamps for layering.

The two detailed leaves were die cut out of Basic Black cardstock using the Seasonal Layers Thinlit. The gradated papers in the Color Theory Designer Series Paper Stack come in four colors that are prefect for seasonal card designs, calendars, or seasonal scrapbooking.  They also coordinate with the papers in the Fresh Lorals Designer Series Paper Stack.    I cut the two leaves using the Seasonal Layers THinlit; one in Lemon Lime Twist and the other out of Vellum cardstock.  The sentiment is from the Colorful Seasons stamp set, which coordinates with this die set.  All of the items in the Color Theory Suite used on this card will be available in the new catalog, just 3 weeks away!
