Make a Difference Alphabet set and more... from Stampin' Up!

Make a Difference Stamp Set

Today you're probably looking at the photo below and saying to yourself, " Which stamp set was used for that sentiment?  I don't remember seeing that sentiment in the Share What You Love Suite."  Well, I used the new Make A Difference Stamp set, an alphabet set that you can use to easily create sentiments to meet your needs.

The Make A Difference stamp set includes not only upper and lower case letters, in two different fonts, and also includes numbers, some common double letters and an assortment of symbols and small sentiments for more usefulness.  There's a Stampin' Up! copyright to ensure your cards meet the Angle Policy if you're selling your finished cards.  There is also a few items for tags, such as "to" and "from", or for an envelope "deliver to", More sentiments for the back of cards or projects:  "Handstamped by," or "Handcrafted just for you" or "created by."  There are even stamps to personalize your books or stamp sets with, "This belongs to".  You can create your own name to use with any of these statements to personalize your creations.  I can't wait to use, "From the desk of."

I used an Old Olive base card.  Then I dry embossed the Lovely Floral embossing folder image on a Whisper White Layer.  I created a 1-3/4" X 5-1/4" banner under the image block and decorated the banner with one of the flower and branch images from the Make a Difference Alphabet set. I stamped the image in Versamark on the Old Olive banner to give it an softer look.

The image block is Whisper White backed with an old Olive mat.  The images of the flower, stems and backgrounds are from the Share What You Love set.  The leaves and stems are stamped in Old Olive.  The flowers were stamped in Grapefruit Grove on Whisper White and fussy cut before popping them up on Dimensionals.

The sentiment uses a new die from the June 1 catalog called Stitched Label Framelits and it is matted with a scalloped circle from the Layering Circles Framelits.  A few of the Share What You Love Artisan Pearls were added to the card.

This stamp set is part of the Gotta Have It All bundle from the Share What You Love Suite, and its available for purchase now -- before the release of the new Annual Catalog coming out June 1.  Purchasing one of the three bundles includes free gifts.  After May 31, the Share What you love bundles can still be purchased from the new catalog, but the free gifts go away.  Download a brochure with details about the free gifts and each of the three bundles here

Petal Palette stamp set from Stampin' Up!

  • Petal Palette stamps and Petal Pair Embossing folder
  • Blends highlight embossing

Petal Pair Embossing Folder

Sometimes, your "test" turn into cards.  That's what happened today.  I haven't used my Petal Pair embossing folder in a while and I wanted to see what it would look like if I added color to the embossed images.  I first used daubers and ink pads and lightly brushed the raised images.  It just wasn't colorful enough, so I tried adding Blends Marker ink to a couple of images.  I was so pleased with the results that I added a sentiment and a ribbon, put it on a base card, and done!

I chose Old Olive for my base card.  Then the embossed Petal Pair image is on a Whisper White Layer.  I used the light Calypso Coral and the Light Old Olive blends to highlight the raised areas of the embossed image.

Then sentiment is die cut using the Layering Ovals and cut from Whisper White.  It is framed with a Scalloped oval of Old Olive.

The sentiment and the flower are both stamped in Old Olive, and they are both from the Petal Palette Stamp Set.  I colored the flowers with Light Old Olive Blends for the leaves and Calypso Coral for the flowers.

The ribbon is 5/8" Peekaboo Peach crinkled seam binding ribbon, which is one of the retiring ribbons I stocked up on.  Its retiring and this is your last chance to get it before the end of May.

This stamp set and its coordinating dies will carry over to the new catalog.  However, if you're thinking about getting the Petal Palette bundle, you'll want to order it now and save 10% on the stamp set and dies.  The 10% bundle saving disappears on May 31.  Don't forget to order the matching Petal Pair embossing folder to extending the usefulness of this set.
