Playful Deer Christmas Card idea using Peaceful Deer Stamp Set

  • Stampin' Up! Peaceful Deer Stamp Set
  • Coordinating Deer Builder Punch
  • Select Peaceful Prints 12" X 12" Designer Series Paper as a Free Sale-A-Bration selection with $50 order

I still had one of the prints from Peaceful Prints Designer Series Paper on my work surface and decided to make another card using the Peaceful Deer Bundle, one of my favorite new sets from the July-December 2021 Mini Catalog.  I paired it with die cuts from the Stitched Stars Dies, the Wintry 3D embossing Folder, and a Whisper White Crinkled Seam Binding Bow to create this simple card with a playful deer focal point.  And a quick reminder:   Until 30 September, for each $50 or $100 order you place (less tax and shipping), you'll earn FREE Sale-A-Bration selections.

Christmas Card with a deer focal point using Stampin' Up! Peaceful Deer Bundle

The basecard for this card is Thick Basic White Cardstock.  Then Star Die Cuts were created using one of the dies from the Stitched Stars Dies.  Tip:  I backed the Cherry Cobbler Cardstock with Adhesive Sheets before diecutting the swirly stars, which made it very easy to remove the backing from the die cut and adhere to the top and bottom of my card.

The image layer of the center of the card is Basic White Cardstock dry embossed using the Wintry 3D embossing Folder, and matted with a piece of Cherry Cobbler Cardstock.  The deer was punched from the Peaceful Prints 12" X 12" specialty Designer Series Paper from the Sale-A-Bration Brochure.  It was punched out using the Deer Builder Punch.

The sentiment was stamped on a die cut from the Bloom Dies.  The sentiment is one of several from the Peaceful Deer Stamp Set, and it is tamped in Cherry Cobbler ink.  I also added a bow out of Whisper White 1/4" Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon, and added three Red Rhinestones Basic Jewels to complete the card.

I'm sure I'll be making many more cards using the Peaceful Deer Stamp Set and it's coordinating Deer Builder Punch.  And I used some of my Free Sale-A-Bration selections with my recent order to pickup several packages of Peaceful Prints Specialty designer Series Paper, which coordinates with the Peaceful Deer Bundle.

Last week, we received a heads up that suppliers both in the US and China that supply SU products are running behind, with low inventory on several ink pad colors and a few holiday catalog items already in shot supply. Order now so you aren't disappointed later.

Visit my Stampin' Up! on-line store to place your order.  Use the August Host Code if your order is between $50-$149 before shipping and tax to qualify for a thank you gift for shopping with me.  Orders over $150 earn Stampin' Rewards from Stampin' Up!, and you do not use the Host Code to qualify.  August Host Code:  VA4XYHGEV

Christmas: When Presence of Family is better than Presents from Family

  • Stampin' Up! Defined Stamp Set
  • Christmas Pinecone Dies & Encircled in Beauty Dies
  • Select Penguin Playmates 12" X 12" Designer Series Paper as a Free Sale-A-Bration selection with $50 order

I've been playing with this card the past few day... not really sure how to complete it; not really sure if I liked it.  In the end, I decided to leave it up to you.  How would you feel if you received this Christmas Card from a friend?  I like the individual elements  such as the Christmas Pine Cone Die Cuts and the stamped image from the Well Defined Stamp Set with the Encircled In Beauty Die cut from Fresh Freesia Velum.  These we left over die cuts I had decided not to use on another project, but they seems to come together quite well.  I loved the Blackberry Bliss Striped Bow and the  Pastel Pearls.  I enjoy playing with different elements from the Stampin' Up! product line, because they work so well together.  It makes the investment very worth while. And a quick reminder:   Until 30 September, for each $50 or $100 order you place (less tax and shipping), you'll earn FREE Sale-A-Bration selections.

Handmade Christmas Card with pine sprig die cuts and Christmas definition

The basecard for this card is Thick Basic White Cardstock.  Then Die Cuts using the Christmas Pinecone Dies.  One layer of Fresh Freesia and the other layer of Blackberry Bliss Cardstock.  Tip:  I backed the Blackberry Bliss layer with Adhesive Sheets before die cutting, making it very easy to adhere the resulting large layer on top of the Fresh Freesia die cut.

Handmade Holiday Card using Stampin' Up! Christmas Pinecne Dies

For the image layer, I used Basic White Cardstock.  I stamped the sentiment from the Well Defined Stamp Set in Fresh Freesia Ink onto a die cut circle. Then I die cut a detailed circle frame using the Encircled in Beauty dies.  I cut it from Fresh Freesia Shimmer Vellum.  I added Dimensionals to the back of the sentiment before adding it to the front of the card.

Close up of sentiment on handmade Christmas Card using the Stampin' Up! Well Defined Cling Stamp Set

To add a little more interest to the card, I added a bow out of Striped Blackberry Bliss ribbon (retired), and a few Pastel Pearls.

The Well Define Stamp Set includes sentiments for several Holidays, including Christmas, Halloween, as well as several general sentiments, including a definition of winter, gratitude and holiday. Its a fun addition to your more traditional sentiments stamps.
