Alternative Card ideas for Beyond The Horizon Paper Pumpkin Kit

  • Paper Pumpkin Alternative Card Ideas for Beyond The Horizon Kit
  • Beyond the Horizon March 2022 Paper Pumpkin Unboxing Video now available
  • Still time to order April 2022 New Beginnings Paper Pumpkin Kit
Today was a fun day.  I met a few stamping friends at Starbucks where we enjoyed coffee and treats and worked on our individual projects at the Big Table.  Our local Starbuck's manager enjoys seeing us spread out our projects and the blast we have coming up with creative ideas.

I focused on making Alternative Cards using the March 2022 Beyond The Horizon Paper Pumpkin Kit.  Paper Pumpkin kits are perfect for newer stampers without many stamping tools.  The kits include everything needed, except scissors, to complete a number of cards with matching envelopes, or treat packaging or other fun ideas that change monthly.  However, experienced stampers love Paper Pumpkin craft kits, too.   We love adding our own personal touch by adding more card layers, making different card layouts with the kit elements, and adding additional stamped elements or die cuts from our stash of Stampin' Up! craft supplies.  I created 5 different layouts today.  I'll show you three today using the Stamp Set that came with the March 2022 kit.  Tomorrow, I'll show you two additional cards made using the free, extra stamp set included in the Beyond The Horizon Paper Pumpkin Kit as a customer thank-you to Paper Pumpkin stampers.  You can watch the assembly video for this kit, below the card photos.  You can purchase Paper Pumpkin kits monthly or as a subscription of 3 months, 6 mos or 12 months.  More info below about next month's kit towards the end of this post.

Three floral greeting card ideas using contents of the Beyond The Horizon March 2022 Paper Pumpkin Kit

To create the card below.  I selected one of the cards from the kit, and cut down the card front to fit my Pale Papaya and Old Olive layers.  I used the remaining piece of White (back of the card) as a layer inside my card.  To give the watercolor scene a more painted look, I embossed a subtle texture onto the card using Tasteful Textiles 3D Embossing Folder.

This Paper Pumpkin Kit included a number of floral die cuts and geometric elements.  I used a couple from the kit, and then, I decided to create a few look-alike floral pieces.  I started with a full sheet of Old Olive Cardstock.  Then I used a Water Painter and my Old Olive ink pad, and added subtle streaks of  watered-down Old Olive ink to the entire piece of cardstock.  Then I selected a die from the Harvest Dies and created the Old Olive wheat shocks element.  As a final touch, I stamped the birds from the Sailing Home Stamp Set in Evening Evergreen onto a portion of my watercooler landscape image. Adding any small sentiment completes this card.

For the next alternative idea for using the Beyond The Horizon Paper Pumpkin Kit, I again chose one of the three card bases that came with the kit...another watercolored landscape.  I trimmed off the card front and matted the watercolor scene onto Misty Moonlight Cardstock.  I again used the birds from the Sailing Home Stamp Set.  Then I added a Basic White die cut from the Encircled in Beauty Dies.   I added another die cut, this time from white vellum cardstock, using one of the dies from the Forever Flourishing Die Set.  I also added another of the Old Olive die cuts from the Harvest Dies.  I stamped a sentiment onto another die cut from the Meadow Dies, and added a few of the gems included with the Beyond The Horizon Paper Pumpkin Kit to complete my second alternative card idea for this kit.

The third card I created from this kit, below, uses the third basecard design included in this Paper Pumpkin Kit.  Once again, I cut the basecard down to fit my Misty Moonlight and Crumb Cake basecard layers. Then I added a green leafy die cut included in the Beyond The Horizon Paper Pumpkin Kit.  I finished the card with die cuts and stamped images from the Nature's Harvest Bundle and a tag die cut from the Tailor Made Tag Dies.  The bow is made using 3/16 Braided Linen Trim, a retired Stampin' Up! product.  The Hello sentiment is from the free stamp set included in this month's Paper Pumpkin Kit and it is stamped in Old Olive ink on the stitched Crumb Cake tag.

Let the SALE Begin!  Today, begins the Last Chance Sale on 2021-2022 Annual Stampin' Up! Catalog items. Several items are on sale up to 50% off.

Last Chance Sale on 2021-2022 Annual Catalog Items

It is just a little over one month before the new Annual Catalog is released.  Check the Stampin' Up! OnLine Store for the Last Chance Products 2021-2022 Annual Catalog Sale.   Some items at deep discounts;  up to 50% off!

Retiring List (with discounts) - See which products are on their way out once the Stampin' Up! 2021-2022 Annual Catalog Retires 2 May 2022

How to get the most from the Retiring Lists

Know what's retiring:  I like to mark my current catalog with items I currently own, and items that will retire.  That way I know which products will carry over before I place a Last Chance order.  Retiring In Color ink refills and Retiring In Color Cardstock tend to sell out right away.  Save also on the In Color Blends Markers in Cinnamon Cider, Just Jade, Magenta Madness and Misty Moonlight, which are on the Retiring Products List.

Same on Carry Over Bundles:  Once my catalog is marked with retiring items, I decide if one of my favorite bundles is on the retiring list.  The bundle may retire, but the individual pieces may carry over to the next catalog.  If its a favorite on my Wish List, I move it to my Shopping List.  The bundle savings of 10% over the cost of purchasing each piece separately from the new annual catalog makes it worthwhile to purchase now.

Carry Over Products - After you've marked your catalog with retiring products, it is easier to see which products will still be available after the current Annual Catalog Retires.  Since one of the unique points about Stampin' Up! is that our products coordinate between all current catalogs, you'll enjoy pairing what you have with new products becoming available in the 3 May 2022 Annual Catalog.

Products Sell Out Fast - Once you decide which Last chance Products you want, order as soon as possible so you don't miss out on these savings.  Availability of retiring products is only while supplies last.  Have a few "back-up" items to your Shopping List in the event an item becomes unavailable while placing your order.
