Stampin' Up! Sailing Home Stamp Set

Today's Sneak Peek from the new 2019-2020 annual Stampin' Up! catalog uses the Sailing Home Stamp Set from the new Come Sail Away Suite.  I also the coordinating Smooth Sailing Dies along with the new Stitched Nested Labels Dies.  I'm IN MAD LOVE with our new style dies!!  They cut so smoothly and the detailed stitching is much more detailed than on our current dies.  The stitched details come out of the dies so easily and perfectly.  I can't wait to use more of these new dies!

I created a card based on one of the cards from the display boards at the San Antonio event and added my own creative twists.

The basecard for today's card is Night of Navy.  Then a layer of the coordinating Come Sail Away Designer Series Paper from the Come Sail Away Suite.  Then a banner of Cherry Cobbler dry embossed with the Subtle 3D Embossing Folder, which will carry over to the new catalog. (Yeah!)

I stamped the sailboat and birds in Night of Navy on a piece of Crumb Cake cardstock die cut using the Rectangle Stitched Framelits Dies.  Then I use my White colored pencil to shade the sailboat sail white.  I used a label die from the Smooth Sailing Dies to create a die cut for the sentiment.  The sentiment is stamped on a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock in Night of Navy.  Look closely at the stitched edges.  They came out of the die perfectly!

I created a second version of this card using another sentiment from the Sailing Home Stamp Set and stamped it in Night of Navy on a Very Vanilla Stitched Rectangle die cut.

We were introduced to this set during Stampin' Up! On Stage where we made the card on the right.  This suite has so many fun elements to work with, I can't wait to find more ways to use this set.  It includes sentiments that make this a perfect stamp set for creating great graduation cards, encouragement, Thanks you cards, and other very useful sentiment.  The coordinating Smooth Sailing Dies and the coordinating Come Sail Away Designer Series Papers will make this suite a delight to work with.

You'll find many ways to create with this new suite.  I'm sure your Pinterest Boards are growing with the addition of other new catalog sneak peeks you are seeing.  Be sure to add this to your Sailing Home Stamp Set board on Pinterest.

Love this new set from the upcoming catalog?  If you don't have a current Stampin' Up! demonstrator, I would love to be your demonstrator.  Contact me, so I can add you to my new catalog mailing list, which I'm finalizing at the end of this month (April 30).  New catalogs will arrive towards the end of May, giving you time to put together your Wish List so you'll be ready to order June 4.

Stampin' Up! Healing Hugs photorealistic stamp set

  • Stampin' Up! Healing Hugs DistINKtive stamp
  • Stampin' Up! DistINKtive stamps created depth and texture
  • How to create monochromatic images using Healing Hugs DistINKtive stamps

Stampin' Up! Healing Hugs

Today I wanted to highlight a new stamp set called Healing Hugs.  The Stampin' Up! Healing Hugs Stamp is one of the creative new stamp sets in a family of stamp sets called DistINKtive stamps.  These stamp sets are created using a new patent-pending process developed by Stampin' Up! to create photorealistic images.  That process creates stamps you won't find anywhere else on the market.  It creates images with depth and dimension that you usually can't create unless you use a two-or three-step stamping process.

Two stamps in the Healing Hugs stamp set use this process--the rose and the double leaves.  They make creating an image with a lot of depth and texture fast and easy.  Just stamp once and you're ready to use on a card front.   A tip for using the DistINKtive style stamps:  Be sure your stamp is fully inked to ensure your get the most detailed image from these stamps.  Stamp pads with bubbles means you're stamp pad is too juicy and you may lose some of the details.

You can create more color variations on your DistINKtive-style stamps by using a base color and adding additional colors to select areas of the stamp using daubers.  Here's a video showing you this technique and telling you more about these wonderful photorealistic stamps.

This is one of the wonderful cards I received from Annmarie Turner during a recent swap.  It uses the new Healing Hugs stamp set.  This card includes a basecard of Calypso Coral, then a layer of Very Vanilla, and then one of the new Tea Time Specialty Designer Series Papers.

The image layer repeats the Very Vanilla and Calypso Coral, and another Very Vanilla layer.

Then the rose image from Healing Hugs is stamped in Calypso Coral on Whisper White and cut out of by hand (fussy cut).  It is mounted on Dimensionals in the middle of the image block.  The sentiment is from this set, and it is stamped in Tuxedo Black Memento ink.

Recipe:

Stamp: Healing Hugs
Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black, Calypso Coral
Paper:  Calypso Coral, Very Vanilla, Tea Room Specialty Designer Series Paper
Accessories:  Paper Snips, Bone Folder, Stampin' Trimmer, Multipurpose Glue, Dimensionals

The second card also uses the Healing Hugs rose image.  This card uses the returning Mint Macaron color for its base card.  Then the Whisper White layer is stamped using the Playful Background stamp set with Mint Macaron ink.

The rose image from Healing Hugs stamp set is stamped in Mint Macaron on a circle of Whisper White cut using the Layering Circle Framelits.  Its matted on a Mint Macaron Circle created using the Stitched Shapes Framelits.

The bow is Silver & Pool Party Baker Twine.  The card is accented with Pearl Basic Jewels.  The sentiment is from the Petal Pallet stamp set, and is stamped in Tuxedo Black Memento ink.

Below are the two cards side by side showing you two ideas for using this stamp set.  Fast, simple cards using this new-style stamp to create details and texture stamping the rose image only once.  The card on the right needs few supplies other than your paper cutter, a scissors, a piece of coordinating paper, ink and cardstock.  The card on the right includes die cuts and background stamps and embellishments.  Both would be a thoughtful way to send a sentiment to someone you love.

There are other stamp sets in the new annual catalog that were created using this new photorealistic process.  Look for the red DistINKtive emblem on the stamp set for stamps using this new process.
