Stampin' Up! Color Revamp coming with June 1 New Catalog

Stampin' Up! Color Revamp

Stampin' Up last updated its core colors in 2013.  They plan to update colors every three to five years to keep our colors fresh and current.  Colors will be updated with the release of the 2018-2019 annual catalog, and we thought you would like to know now.

Future color up dates will continue to include the In Color offering, which updates five new In Colors each year and the new In Colors are available for two years.

Color revamp in a nutshell

  - Keeping 27 of the existing core colors
  - 13 core colors are going away
  - adding 10 new core colors
  - adding 6 returning In Colors that will now be core colors (colors offered in the past that will now be available again)

One additional change coming:  New ink pad & cases.  Why would we change the cases?  The cases manufacturing mold was about to expire.  We can only use a mold a limited number of times before we need to replace it, so we had to decide if we wanted to order more of the same molds or try to improve the design.  Stampin' Up! choose to improve it.  Choosing to do this at the same times as the color revamp means stampers only need to invest in changes once -- especially demonstrators who want to stay current.

What's better about the new stamp pad case?  Less confusing to open.  Tighter fit between the lid and the base, which helps insure the lid doesn't accidentally become disconnected.  Stackable, which means they are easier to store and transport.  And, improved labels and stickers.  The pads will still fit in the color caddy, just not as tightly as the previously ink pad style.  The ink is being improved as well.  A defoamer will be added to reduce ink bubbles and more evenly coat ink on the stamp giving you a smoother, solid look.  Additionally Archival Ink will no longer be part of our ink offering.  Basic Gray will now be offered in Classic Ink.  Your best options for black ink are the Tuxedo Black Memento Pad and Jet Black StazOn Pad.

Colors Going Away

Turning to the Color Revamp, Stampin' Up! is replacing these core colors.

These 2016-2018 In Colors will also retire May 31.  These are the colors that Stampin' Up! replaces every two years to keep the colors fresh.

New Colors

When the June catalog is released Stampin' Up! is adding 5 new In Colors, as expected.  The color revamp will add ten new core colors, and 6 colors are returning and are being added to the core colors.  Also, Whisper White, Very Vanilla and Basic Black are a new color category called Basics, giving us space for three more colors.  Take a look at the new lineup of colors planned with the release of the Annual Catalog.  For a larger image, click the image.

I'm thrilled with these returning new Core Colors.  Mint Macaron was one of my all-time favorite In Colors and I was terribly sad when it retired.  I love that I can use it again!

Start your wish list today and plan to add these new colors to your order when the June catalog is released.  The new catalog is right around the corner and if you're like me, you'll want time to look through your retired stash to see if you have any of these returning Core Colors, and start to budget for new items we know we all need.

Last-Chance Product Lists

To view all of the retiring products, visit my online store.  This is your best source to see if the product you want is still available.  As items sell out, they will no longer be listed in my online store.
