Stampin' Up! 30th Anniversary Celebration

This week has been so exciting!  I’m in Orlando with 7,500 of my fellow Stampin’ Up! demonstrator friends.  The hotels, restaurants, rental cars and parking lot attendant all know that Stampin’ Up! is in town.  The Orange County Convention Center has been our home away from our homes for the past 3 days as we’ve formed stronger friendship bonds, stamped with new stamp, swapped cards with other demos, and seen product demos for new stamping products available to customers in January.

Over 53,000 demonstrator worldwide will get these products early so we’ll have time to make samples and set up on classes in early January. Be sure you’re signed up  on my Meetup site to hear about upcoming classes and events. You’ll get a jump start on creating Birthday, Valentine  and other cards you’ll need early next year.

Sessions began with Sara, CEO, and her mom, Shelli, Chairman of the Board, chatting on stage about some of the new changes and products in the upcoming Occasions and Sale-A-Bration catalogs.  Although we heard many presenters over these few days, no one is a popular as hearing from Sara and Shelli together on stage.  We love the fun, off-the-cuff banter of this month-daughter duo.  And the highlight for demonstrators is to watch these two stamp together, as we did during closing session.  And for the first time on stage, we saw two of Sara's daughters join them in stamping demos, giving us three generations of this wonderful family-run business on stage, making us all feeling like family.

Some of the highlights coming our way include new Cling Red Rubber Stamps and the elimination of wood stamps except for a few background stamps, a Stamparatus carrying case, and more ways to pay when you order on-line through my Stampin' Up! store. Plus Stampin' Up! is moving their computer infrastructure to the Cloud.  This means that during busy ordering times, like the introduction of the new catalogs, they have an easy way of adding more computer capacity so that you don't end up with a stalled computer right in the middle of your order.  And, Stampin' Up! is going to create a mobile app to make it even easier to place on line orders!

Another highlight for us demonstrators is getting copies of the upcoming Occasions and Sale-A-Bration Catalogs early.  We also love the change in policies where we can begin sharing more from the On Stage event on our blogs and other social media earlier than we've been allowed to in the past.  Be sure to contact me if you want to be put on my mailing list to receive these new catalogs in late December.  You'll be able to place orders in early January.

The stamping demonstrations we saw and many more photos I took will have to wait for another post, as I'm packing to leave Orlando.  However, I will comment that all of the stamping demonstrations showed us how to use each new stamp for the new stamper, the casual stamper and the avid stamper, which will be a big help in demonstrators holding classes that appeal to a wide range of crafters.

Of course there we lots of Prize Patrols where we received some of the  new stamp sets and new papers from the Occasions and Sale-A-Bration Catalogs as gifts.

Prize Patrol gave us all new Tool Bags!  Here with friends Chris and Angie

Here, my friends Angie and Chris show the new tool bags we received.  We're all excited by the new Stamparatus bags and a new Craft and Carry Tote bag which will also be available to customers in January.

On Stage wouldn't be complete without recognition of the accomplishments of demonstrators.  Angie is a new demonstrator friend, and she earned two Quick Start Awards in her first 6 months after signing on as a Demonstrator, progressed to Bronze Elite title, earned 1800 CVS bonus, and her discount increased from 20% to 25%.  Way to grow, Angie!!

Congratulations to Angie on two Quick Start awards!!!

Of course there were many other awards for sales, recruiting and length of years with Stampin' Up! as a Demonstrator.  Its always fun to see a 30 year-old company that continues to help its demonstrators increase sales and grow.

We also met with our regional Stampin' Up! Demonstrator Development Managers (DDMs).  Chad Williams, on the left below, is the Midwest South DDM.  These side meetings are a great opportunity to hear the inside scoop on what's going one with demonstrators in your region, share ideas with your DDM, plus its is an opportunity to meet other demonstrators from your immediate area. That's Carole Cory next to Chad.  She's a fellow demonstrator and a neighbor only a few miles from where I live in Houston, TX.  We finally got to meet in person in Orlando!  She's so friendly and sweet.

To continue the fun at On Stage, we're able to use some of the new stamps to create samples to show our customers, along with seeing displays of samples from the Stampin' Up! home office people and other demonstrator demonstrations we saw on stage.  There were so many fun ideas for using these new stamps.

The samples below use the new Piece of Cake stamp set.  It includes a coordinating cake builder punch.  We all have so many birthday cards we need to create, this will definitely be one of the sets you'll want to add to your Wish List in January.

Another beautiful, new set created by a $1,000,000 sales achiever demonstrator, Janet Wakeland, is the Artfully Aware stamp set.  This set coordinates with the Support Ribbon Framelit Dies from the annual catalog.  Janet told a heartfelt story about creating this stamp set in support of her mother who has Alzheimer's.

Among Janet's many samples were several in purple, in support of her mother.  The images are line art and are beautiful as simple black and white cards using our Note Cards.  The ribbon image and all others can also be colored with Blends Alcohol-based Markers or our watercolor pencils.  Using our note cards and our colored pencils, you can create many of these cards with minimal stamping supplies, making this stamp set perfect for a new stamper or to use in a fundraiser.

I'll have more of these wonderful ideas and more swap samples to show you in later posts.
