Treat Holder idea using Let It Snow Specialty Designer Series Paper from Stampin' Up!

  • Stampin' Up! Cup of Christmas Stamp Set
  • Let It Snow Specialty Designer Series Paper
  • Don't miss Stampin' Up! OnLine Extravaganza November 20-22, 2019

Treat Holders are Oh, So Sweet

Today's project is a small candy holder with a gift card or business card slot, using Stampin' Up! Let It Snow Specialty Designer Series Paper.  The small treat box holds  3 Ferrero Rocher Hazelnut Chocolates.  Wouldn't these be great to hand to someone special for the outstanding job they've done for you this year with a gift card tucked inside?  Or think of the fun you would have handing this to a fellow crafter you just struck up a conversation with while standing in line at the post office mailing your Thanksgiving or Christmas cards.

Here's what I used to create these:  The sentiment is from the Cup of Christmas Stamp Set.  It is stamped in Shaded Spruce Ink.  The labels are from the Ornate Frame Dies.  I cut the outside frame in Gold Foil Sheets to match the gold foil wrapping on the candy.  I used the Everyday Label Punch to punch the opening so you can see the candy.  I didn't need to use a window sheet because the candy is large enough that it won't fall out.   I added a bow out of Shaded Spruce/Gold 3/8" Striped Ribbon and attached it with Glue Dots.

Measurements:
Cardstock:  11-1/4" X 7-3/4" (I started with a 12 X 12 Sheet of Whisper White)
On the Short Side, score at 1/2", 1-7/8".  Turn paper 180 degrees and score 1/2" and 1-7/8"
On the long side, score:  1/2", 1-7/8", 3-1/4", 4-5/8",  6" (score only down to the second score line), 8-3/8" and 10-3/4"  Turn the paper over and at the 6" mark on the long side, score down to the second score line.

DSP:  1 ea.  3-7/8" X 2-1/4", 2 ea 1-1/4" X 3-7/8", 2 ea-1-1/4 X 1-1/4".
Hint:  I found it was easier to  add the Designer Series Paper while the box was not yet assembled.  Also, once the Designer Series Paper was in place, I re-punched the opening on the wrong side of the opening so that I could line up the punch in the same location as the first punch.

On the top portion of the treat box, I used Tear & Tape where the gift card slot opens and used it to hold down the two sides without the thumb slot.

I originally made this treat holder several years ago, and there are additional instructions and a link to a video showing cutting instructions in my original post.

Cup of Christmas Bundle from Stampin' Up!

  • Cup of Christmas Stamp Set
  • Cup of Cheer Dies
  • A few seats remain for Holiday Card Class #8, Sunday, October 20, 2019

Stampin' Up! Cup of Christmas

I'm having fun today with a Gift Card Holder / Business Card Holder card.  It uses the Cup of Christmas stamp set and the coordinating Cup of Cheer Dies.  The finished card size is 4-1/4 X 4-1/4 so you can use a full-size card envelope or create a custom envelope.  am such a fan of the two stamp sets I'm using today.  I've paired the Cup of Christmas Bundle with 6" X 6" Wrapped in Plaid Specialty Designer Series Paper to give this cute Gift Card Holder a holiday feel.  This is perfect for remembering special people who have helped you throughout the year.

The basecard for this card is Shaded Spruce.  The basecard is 10-1/2 X 4-1/4.  It is scored at 4-1/4" X 5-1/4" and 6-1/4".  Fold the basecard to create an "M" or a "W", and crease with a bone folder to create a sharp crease.  Use tear an tape to hold the pieces together.  Use the Classic Label Punch to punch out an opening wide enough to hold a gift card.

Then add layers to the card front of Gold Foil Sheet, and Cajun Craze, and finally, one of 6" X 6" Wrapped in Plaid Specialty Designer Series Paper.  The Wrapped in Plaid layer is 3" X 3" meaning you can get 4 from each 6" X 6" sheet.  Before adding these layers to the basecard, I added a bow using Shaded Spruce/Gold 3/8" Striped Ribbon.

To complete the card front, I used the Cup of Cheer Dies to cut a mug from Cajun Craze card stock.  I used two other dies to cut the Christmas flower and leaves from Gold Foil Sheet.  Finally, I used the tag dies and the string die to create my sentiment layers for the card front.   The sentiment is stamped in Shaded Spruce ink.

On the inside of the card, I added a layer of Cajun Craze and then used a Whisper White layer for my sentiment.  The Sentiment and border is from the Cup of Christmas Stamp Set.

This same layout would work for Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years as well as Birthday's and other celebrations by changing up the colors, designer series papers and the Gold Foil accents.  Join us this week end to make this and other beautiful Holiday Cards.  See more below about our upcoming Holiday Card Class.  You'll love creating this fun gift card using Cup of Christmas Stamp Set and the Cup of Cheer Dies.  And, you'll love everything you make with this bundle.
