Magnolia 3D Embossing Folder

Stampin' Up! Magnolia 3D Embossing Folder

One of the items in the Magnolia Lane Suite that I've been reluctant to use is the Magnolia 3D embossing folder.  I just wasn't sure that the impressions would stand out except as a background.  However, I found a way to highlight it to make it pop off the page using Whisper White Craft ink and sponge daubers. Check out Sunday's Class below, where you'll be able to make this card.  You can see the entire Magnolia Lane Suite on page 36 -38 of the Stampin' Up! annual catalog

This is  pretty simple card.  I made it with two different base cards and ribbons to see how each would look.  The basecard on the one pictured above is Petal Pink.  Then the image layer is Crumb Cake.  I dry embossed the Magnolia images using the Magnolia 3D Embossing folder and the blue Embossing Plate.   The Magnolia 3D Embossing Folder is one of the new-style 3D embossing folders, and you will need to use the new 3D Embossing Folder Plate, item 149658 (USD$10.00) when embossing with this folder.  This plate is new, and you won't find it in the catalog, but you will find in in the online store.  This plate is a "must have" if you plan to order any of the new-style 3D Embossing folder in this year's annual catalog.

I used Whisper White Craft ink and sponge daubers to highlight the Magnolia image.  Then I used Petal Pink on the sponge dauber to highlight the inside petals.  Finally, I used a Blender Pen and Crumb Cake ink to highlight outside the embossed image to provide more dimension to the image

I added a bow of 5/8" Organdy Striped Ribbon to the corner of one card.  For the card with the Crush Curry Basecard, I added a Crushed Curry bow of 3/8" Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon.

The Magnolia Lane Suite has so may different looks, this is a nice change of pace.
