Today's card in non-traditional holiday colores uses Blushing Bride, Silver Foil, Basic White and the Wonderful Snowflakes. The Wonderful Snowflakes had a pearlescent side and a plain white side. Using your Blending Bushes, you can color the plain white side to any our our ink colors to match your cardstock. I colored mine with Blushing Bride ink to match the Blushing Bride cardstock on my basecard. I added a sentiment from the Merriest Moments Stamp Set, a few Pastel Pearls and a Silver Foil stitched Snowflake and my card was complete. If you're looking for a easy card layout for a large quantity of Christmas Cards, this card idea is a perfect time-saver.
The basecard for this card is Blushing Bride Cardstock. Then a layer of one of the Silver Foil Sheets from the Silver Foil 12" X 12" Specialty Pack. Then a Basic White Layer.
Next, I used a Blending Brush to color one of the Wonderful Snowflakes Blushing Bride. Tip: I found it helpful to color the Wonderful Snowflake BEFORE detaching it from the backing. I also found that I could create a stencil effect while coloring the Wonderful Snowflakes with a Blending Bush. So, I could stencil a snowflake image onto the front corner of an envelope at the same time I was coloring the plain side of a Wonderful Snowflake. Once it was colored, I removed the Wonderful Snowflake from its backing and it was ready to add to my card front.
Before adding the colored Wonderful Snowflake to my card, I cut a piece of Silver 3/8" Metallic Edge ribbon and layered it on my card. Then I added the Wonderful Ribbon and then a Silver Foil Stitched Snowflake cut with one of the Stitched Snowflake Dies. I stamped a sentiment from the Merriest Moments Stamp Set in Smoky Slate ink onto the lower portion of the card.
