Toil & Trouble Designer Series Paper from Stampin' Up! is a must for Halloween

  • Cat Punch
  • Christmas Traditions Punch Box

Toil & Trouble Treat Box made with Gift Bag Punch

Today I created a treat box for Halloween using the Toil & Trouble Designer Series Paper and 12 X 12" Basic Black cardstock.  This cute box is all one piece and rather large.  It hold a small package of sweets and is perfect for the visiting trick or treaters or a Halloween-themed party.  I love that these are a single piece of cardstock, including the lid.  The lid simply flips up.

The box base is Basic Black and covered with Toil & Trouble Designer Series Paper from the Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog.  The striped banner paper is another pattern from Toil & Trouble Designer Series Paper pack.

I began with a 12 X 12 sheet of Basic Black cardstock cut to 11-3/8" X 6-3/8".  Using the Simply Scored Scoring tool, score along the long side at 1-3/8, 3-3/8, 6-3/8 and 8-3/8.  Turn the Basic Black card stock and score on the short side at 1-3/8" and 5"

Switching to the Gift Bag Punch Board, along the long edge, line up the 1-3/8" score line with the score guide on the punch and punch. Move to the next score line (3-3/8") and align with the score guide and punch.  Move to the third score line (6-3/8) and punch.  Line up the longest edge with the punch guide and punch again, giving all edges rounded corners.

Now, flip the Basic Black piece over and beginning again with the 1-3/8" edge, align with the punch guide with the score line and punch on the four score lines again -- 1-3/8", 3-3/8", 6-3/8" and 8-3/8".  Line up the outer edge as well, and punch causing rounded corners on all edges.  Alternatively, you can round your corners with the Detailed Trio punch, which includes a corner-rounder.

The dimensions for the designer series pieces:
  3-1/4" X 2-3/4" - for front of box
  3-1/4" X 1-3/4" - for top of box
Watch the direction of your prints or stripes
Use Fast Fuse or Tear & Tape to hold your box together.  Fast Fuse refills are still available on the Clearance Rack at deep discount.

The banner-tag:
  Highland Heather - 2 X 5".
  Stripe print from Toil & Trouble DSP - 1-3/4" X 4-7/8"

Use Fast Fuse to adhere the banner.  Only glue it to the box cover so it flips up when the box cover flips up.  I tied a double bow with the Ribbon in 1/2" Black Satin from the big catalog, and then glued the ends of the ribbon under the lid.

Add a Gorgeous Grape cat punched with the Cat Punch.  Add the cat with two dimensionals attached to the tag -- not the base of the box -- so the cat also flips up when the cover flips up.   I used a sentiment from the  Spooky Sweets stamp set and punched it with the punch from the Christmas Traditions Punch Box.  The sentiment is backed with a square punched using the Stitched Shapes squares.

Be sure to add the Toil & Trouble Designer Series Paper and the Cat Punch and to your order from the Holiday catalog.  The Cat Punch is popular for much more than Halloween.

Country Home Stamped Card colored with Blends Markers

  • Stampin' Up! Country Home stamp set
  • Fall colors, Fall Card with plenty of texture
  • Fall Card Class September 23

Stampin' Up! Country Home Stamp Set

I'm so loving the colors on this card.  It uses the Stampin' Up! Country Home Stamp set with Cherry Cobbler accents.  Paired with the Smoky Slate and new Galvanized Metallic Paper dry embossed with the Tin Tile Embossing Folder, its so warm and Fall-like.  This is one of the cards we'll make this week-end in the Fun Fall card class listed below.

Fall card with beautiful textures and colors

This simple card doesn't have any fussy cutting and doesn't have any die cuts.  Two embossing folders were used.  The Galvanized Foil Sheet was embossed with the Tin Tile embossing folder and the Cherry Cobbler Tag was embossed with the Subtle folder.  The Subtle folder adds a texture to your cardstock that reminds me of the Textured cardstock that we used to carry.  What's nice is the Subtle embossing folder allows you to turn any of your cardstock colors into beautiful Textured cardstock without having to purchase Textured cardstock in every color. Its a great investment!

The images were stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black, and then colored with Blends Markers.  I used Smoky Slate, Cherry Cobbler, Old Olive and Crumb Cake Stampin' Blends Markers.

You can download free copies of the Stampin' Up! Holiday catalog and Annual Catalogs at this link.  This set is on page 43 of the Holiday catalog.
