Paper Pumpkin - April 2019 - Sentimental Rose

I waited impatiently for my April Paper Pumpkin Kit by Stampin' Up!  It included a Distinctive style stamp set and I couldn't wait to get my hands on the stamp set.  I haven't even made the kit, yet--but I will.  I grabbed the stamp set and started stamping alternative cards with this beautiful set.  Distinctive stamps are  stamps sets that make it look like you've used a two-step or three-step stamping process to get the look of several colors of ink.  A Distinctive stamp set only takes one stamping to get the same look.  I also wanted an excuse to use a soon-to-retire dragonfly die set called Detailed Dragonfly Thinlits Dies.

The basecard for today's card is Bermuda Bay cardstock.  Then a layer of Whisper White.  Then another layer of Bermuda Bay plus another layer of Whisper White.

The flower stamp from the Paper Pumpkin April kit was stamped in Bermuda Bay and the leaves were stamped in Garden Green.   In order to align the flowers stamped on the two Whisper White layers, the small Bermuda Bay layer was removed and the flowers and leaves were stamped on the two, layered Whisper White layers.

The sentiment is one of several from the April Paper Pumpkin Kit.  It is also stamped in Bermuda Bay.

The dragonfly is die cut our of Bermuda Bay cardstock using the  Detailed Dragonfly Thinlit Dies.  Then I covered the dragonfly with Wink of Stella to give it a shimmer.  Its popped up on a couple of Mini Dimensionals.  This card is one of the cards we're making in the May 11 Spring Greetings Card Class.

Paper Pumpkin Kits must be purchased by the 10 of each month, so the April 2019 Paper Pumpkin Kit is no longer available.  However, now is a great time to order the Special May 2019 Paper Pumpkin Kit.  But you must order it by May 10.  See a sneak peek of what the May kit looks like here.

Cling Stamps

The new Stampin' Up! catalog for 2019-2020 will launch June 4.  Stampin' Up! has been transitioning red rubber stamp sets (called clear mount) to red rubber Cling stamp sets since the January Occasions catalog.  Stamp sets offered in clear-mount and /or wood-mount in the existing catalogs will be offered until depleted or until June 4, 2019.  Once a red rubber clear-mount or wood-mount stamp set inventory is depleted -- even before June 4-- red rubber stamp sets will automatically switch to Cling when placing an order for that stamp set.  All carryover red rubber stamp sets will be available in cling medium only, with the exception of background stamps, beginning June 4.  Stampin' Up! will also continue to carry transparent Photopolymer stamps.  However wood stamps will no longer be carried after January 3.

Labeling red rubber cling stamps is a slightly different process than you may be used to.  It is important to follow the instructions with each cling set to assemble red rubber cling labels.

NOTE:  Once you place the label on the stamp, it is adhered permanently.  Attempting to remove or adjust the label will damage the stamp's foam.

The changes will help your red-rubber Cling stamps stay on your clear blocks without falling off.  However, there are several "best practices" you will want to know about to use Cling stamps successfully.  Watch this video to learn more.

There are instructions for mounting your labels on the inside of each Cling Mount stamp set case.  Its easy.  And you'll love how your stamps adhere to your clear blocks.  Carefully pull up a corner on your stamp set to remove it from your clear block or you will risk pulling the red rubber from the pad.  These new labels really cling!!  I've been using these new Cling sets for about 6 months and I'm loving how much better they cling, with no shifting than our old Clear-Mount.

Clean your blocks with Stampin' Mist.  Avoid alcohol-based cleaners or baby wipes to clean your new Cling red rubber sets as they may damage the "Cling" or leave behind fibers on your new stamps.  Also, avoid using Stazon-Cleaner on your Cling stamp sets.   If Stazon-Cleaner comes in contact with your Cling labels, use Stampin' Mist to remove it.  Clean your Cling Stamps with the Simple Shammy or the Stampin' Scrub.
