Why are Gold Foil Christmas Tress and Gold Embossed Snowflakes so had to photograph?

  • Stampin' Up! Snowflakes Wishes
  • Pine Woods Dies
  • Final 2 days to order September 2020 Hello Pumpkin Paper Pumpkin Kit!
I played with the Pine Woods Dies over the long holiday week end, and I just wasn't ready to put it away. So, I decided to create a simple card to show off one of the fun dies in the Stampin' Up! Pine Woods Dies set. Then I decided to add some Gold Embossed snowflakes using the Snowflake Wishes Stamp Set.  And, finally, I added a Gold Embossed sentiment from the Wishes & Wonder Stamp Set.  For embellishments, I added a few Gold Metallic Pearls. Not very complicated, and fast!  The only issue is that photos don't show how lovely this card is in real life.

Christmas Card with Gold Tree and Gold Snowflakes

The basecard for this card is Thick Whisper White Cardstock.  Then a layer of Whisper White heat embossed with two different snowflakes dies from the Snowflake wishes Stamp Set.  Snowflakes were stamped in Versamark ink and covered with the Gold Embossing Powder, and then the Heat tool was used to set the Gold Embossing Powder.

Then I used an oval from the Stitched Shapes Dies to cut an oval opening in the  embossed Whisper White layer.  I mounted the embossed layer on Dimensionals before adhering it to the basecard.

Then I cut a piece of Gold Foil Sheets.  I added a piece of Adhesive Sheets to the backside of the Gold Foil Sheet.  Then I selected two dies form the Pine Woods Dies and I die cut the tree.  I removed the Adhesive Sheet backing from the die cut and adhered the tree to the basecard in the oval opening.  The benefit of using Adhesive Sheets is that you don't get liquid glue on your Gold Foil.  .

To finish my card, I cut a 1" X 4" of Vellum Cardstock, stamped a sentiment from wishes & Wonder in Versamark ink, and heat embossed it with Gold Stampin' Emboss Powder.  I added two small Gold Metallic Pearls to each end and used a Glue Dot behind the Metallic Pearls to secure the sentiment to the card front.  Three more Gold Metallic Pearls accent the Gold Foil Tree.

You'll enjoy creating your own unique cards using these images and other elements from embossing folders to dies from the Stampin' Up! annual catalog or the August - December Mini catalog.  Add these stamp sets and products to your Shopping List today.
