Stampin' Up! Fable Friends Easter and Baby Cards

  • Easter, Baby and Spring cards using Fable Friends
  • Last week to place Sale-A-Bration orders for free selections
  • Upcoming Dates to Remember

Stampin' Up! Fable Friends Card Idea

Today's cards uses one of the first stamp sets I ordered from the Occasions catalog.  I knew I wanted a new Easter set, and I always need baby cards, and this set really fits the bill.  It includes such cute images.  You're going to want to pick up the Stampin' Up! Fabled Friends set to use before Easter and use it throughout the Spring and for baby cards all year long.  Add it to your Wish List today.

The basecard for today's card is Balmy Blue.  Then a layer of Crumb Cake, die cut using the Rectangle Stitched Framelit Dies.  Then a small layer of Gingham Gala 6" X 6" Designer Series Paper.

The image layer is an oval cut with the Stitched Shapes Framelit Dies.  The bunny from the Fable Friends stamp set is stamped in Tuxedo Black Memento ink and colored with Blends Marker.  Blends Marker colors used include:  Light Balmy Blue, Light Soft Sued, and Ivory for the face and hands and ears.  Isn't this little bunny adorable?

Then,  I added the greetings from the Fable Friends set onto a sentiment die cut in Whisper White with a Balmy Blue mat.  These two dies are from the Lilies Framelit Dies.  Then a bow of Balmy Blue from the Organdy Ribbon Pack was added.

This card and and earlier card--both using the Stampin' Up! Fable Friends stamp set, show off the "cuteness" factor of this Occasions catalog stamp set.

Stampin' Up! Animal Outing Stamp Set for cute baby cards

  • Stampin' Up! Animal Outing for Baby Cards
  • Craft Holiday cards during a fun afternoon class - November 18

Stampin' Up! Animal Outing

My husband's niece recently had a baby boy, and I created this card using the Stampin' Up! Animal Outing Stamp Set with the coordinating Animal Friends Thinlits Dies for them. It turned out so cute!

I used a Smoky Slate cardstock for my base card. Then a layer of Blueberry Bushel.  Then another layer of Smoky Slate dry embossed with the Tufted Embossing folder.

For the image layers, I die cut a circle using the Stitched Shapes die, which leaves stitches along the outer edge.  I stamped this Blueberry Bushel circle with the hearts from Treat Time stamp set using Blueberry Bushel ink.

Then I stamped the kangaroo in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored the image with Light Smoky Slate Blends, and the little Koala is colored with Light Crumb Cake Blends.  I used one of the dies in the Animal Friends Thinlits set to cut out the Kangaroo, mounted it on Dimensional and added it to the Blueberry Bushel circle.

For the sentiment, I first stamped the square from the Swirly Frames Stamp Set.  Then I stamped one of the sentiments from Animal Outing in Memento Tuxedo Black, and then hand cut around the edges.

Before adding the sentiment to the card, I tied a narrow ribbon of Blueberry Bushel to the top third of the card.  I also added three small Silver Metallic Pearls to the face of the card.

I decided to make more of these cards for one of the swaps I participated in during On Stage in Orlando last week.  These went together very quickly with the help of my Stamparatus Stamp Position tool.  Here's how:

Instead of stamping the Kangaroo and then cutting it out with its coordinating die, I die cut all of the Kangaroo shapes first before stamping them.  Then I took a 5 X 7" sheet of cardstock and cut one more Kangaroo out of it and used the opening in the sheet to position my Kangaroos into the cut out opening and quickly stamped them using the Stamparatus.  It was so fast it felt like cheating!  My Stamparatus saved me sooo much stamping time for swaps! You'll want to add the Stamparatus to your Christmas Wish List today. These cards were such a hit that I came home without a sample of the card for my own display board!  I'm so glad I took photos of this card while I was creating it, because I don't have a single one left.

Find this stamp set and dies on my Stampin' Up Store, and other holiday stamps and dies in the  Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog.
