Mossy Meadow Plaid Christmas Card using So Many Snowflakes Dies

  • So Many Snowflakes Dies for Christmas Cards
  • Banner Year Stamp Set
  • Use Your Bonus Days Coupons by 31 August 2020
I fought against making this card all day.  It is sooo hot outside that I just couldn't get into the mood to start making Christmas cards.  I finally opened the So Many Snowflakes Dies package and took out the largest snowflake and ran it through my Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine.  To my surprise it produced a reverse image.  So I fell back on my old scrap booking days where we did a lot of fussy cutting and I cut around the snowflake image to create the snowflake I wanted for this card.  It turned out great!  That gave me the boost I needed to put together the rest of this card. In addition to the So Many Snowflakes Dies, It also uses the Best Plaid Builder Dies to create the plaid background.  Then I added a Mossy Meadow Striped Ribbon, a sentiment, and a few Blue Gems and it was done!

Christmas Card with Snowflake and Striped Bow

The basecard for this card is Mossy Meadow Cardstock.  Then a layer of Whisper White.  Then I decided to use a Crumb Cake layer under the plaid I created using the Best Plaid Builder Dies.  The largest layer is Mossy Meadow and then Basic Black was used for the grid lines.

I glued the snowflake flat against the plaid background and then added the striped, Mossy Meadow bow to the center of the snowflake.

Two Mossy Meadow Plaid Christmas Cards with Striped Bow

I chose a sentiment from the Stampin' Up! Banner Year Stamp set, and stamped it in Mossy Meadow ink onto a Whisper White strip.  On one I added a tag end, the other I left plain.  I think I like the tag end better.  Then, to add a little glitz, I selected three gems from the Blue Adhesive Backed Gems package and added them to the card front.

Elements used to create Mossy Meadow Plaid Christmas Card

I really enjoy using elements, like the large snowflake in alternative ways from the way it was meant to be used.  It means the set is more versatile than it first appears.  You'll enjoy creating winter and Christmas Cards using these elements, and your family and friends will enjoy receiving special handmade cards from your over the holidays.  Starting early will ensure you have plenty of time to finish your cards before the Holiday season begins.   Add these items to your Shopping List today.

If you live in the USA and don't have a demonstrator and want a copy of the Stampin' Up! Annual Catalog or a copy of the August-December 2020 Mini Catalog, contact me.   I would love to be your Stampin' Up! Demonstrator.

  • Everything Festive Stamp Set
  • Holiday Card Classes happening this week end

Stampin' Up! Toile Tidings Designer Series Paper

Here's an idea for a lovely Christmas Card that will go together quickly and looks very festive.  It uses the Everything Festive Stamp Set, which is filled with Sentiments you'll find useful for Fall, Winter, and Spring Occasions. And, the Toile Tidings Designer Series Paper, which includes prints in classic colors of Garden Green and Real Red.  The Garden Green 3/8" Double Stitched Ribbon along with the paper and Toile Tidings Glitter Enamel Dots are all part of the Stampin' Up! Toile Tidings Suite.  You'll love how easy it is to coordinate items on you cards when you purchase items in Stampin' Up! suites.

For today's card, I used a basecard of Thick Very Vanilla Cardstock.  Then a layer of Garden Green.  The Designer Series Paper I selected is a print from the Toile Tidings Designer Series Paper. If you look closely, you'll find the fox, rabbit and some of the trees from the Nature's Beauty Stamp Set are part of this print, and you'll love decorating the inside of your card and your envelope with  matching elements from the Nature's Beauty Stamp Sets.

For the sentiments, I selected a couple of dies from the Detailed Bands Dies and cut an ornate Garden Green mat and the Very Vanilla sentiment label using Dies from this set.    I stamped the sentiments from the Everything Festive Stamp Set using Garden Green ink, and popped the sentiment label up on Dimensionals before adding it to the card.  I added a Garden Green Toile Tidings Glitter Enamel Dots to each end of the label.

The Garden Green 3/8" Double-Stitched Ribbon finishes the card.

If you're thinking of CASING this idea for your Holiday cards, be sure to place your order with enough time so you'll receive your items before the Holiday shipping rush.  Remember, only 48 days until Christmas!  Your loved ones will enjoy receiving a handmade card from your over the holidays.  And, you'll love everything you make with this beautiful Toile Tidings Suite of coordinating products.
