Save now on the Rose Garden Thinlits

A fast Friday post before the long holiday week end, features  a retiring set.  The Rose Garden Thinlit and the Rose Wonder Stamp set have been a staple in my stash.  It is so easy to make quick cards with this set.  It was perfect for a fast card today.  Although this set is retiring, the thinlits are on sale in the Last Chance section of my store.  You'll love the savings, as you put together your final order before the current catalogs ends on May 31.  Its time to make sure you've ordered your favorite retiring stamp sets, thinlits, cardstock, reinkers and stamp pads.

Today's fast-Friday card uses an Old Olive card base.  Then I added a layer of Whisper White.  Then, a print from the Merry Little Christmas Designer Series Paper pack, which  works well for any season.

I then backed a piece of Whisper White cardstock with a piece of Multi-purpose Adhesive sheet, and used the Rose Garden Thinlit to cut out the rose and leaf as well as the sentiment shape.  I'll remind you again that this Thinlit set is on sale now.  If you love it, don't miss getting it at this great value.  Click here to see your savings. I love how easy this die cut adhered to my card front using the adhesive sheets.  You can also use the Fine-Tipped Glue, however, for the speediest card, using the Adhesive Sheets save so much time, that you'll wonder why you haven't purchased these handy sheets before now.

I used the Rose Wonder Stamp set to stamp the boarder on the sentiment label and a sentiment from this wonder, versatile set to stamp the Thank You.  I popped the sentiment up on Dimensionals before adding it to the card.

It was a busy day, so I was very happy this card came together as quickly as it did.  This is another set I'll likely keep long after its retired since I find it to be one of the most useful sets for so many different occasions.  Don't miss it!

The Count Down to get your retiring favorites

Less than a week remains for you to pick up additional items you want from the current Stampin' Up! catalogs.  Visit my online store to check out Last Chance products.  While most items are only available until they sell out, retiring stamp sets will be available  until May 25.  My online store is the best source to see if the products you want are still available.  As items sell out, they will no longer be listed in my online stores.

Remember that Carry-over bundles of stamps and coordinating dies or punches that are marked 10% off in the current catalogs, will no longer carry bundle pricing in the new annual catalog. Order these bundles before March 31 to get the 10% savings.

Lovely Lace Embossing Folder from Stampin' Up!

  • Lovely Lace cards in Pink Pirouette
  • New Photopolymer stamp sets on Clearance Racks
  • Stampin' Up! Paper Pumpkin BOGO - until Oct 10 2016

May Flowers Framelit and Lovely Lace

I used a technique of inking the Lovely Lace Embossing Folder with a brayer before running it through the Big Shot to create this card.  Then I added the May Flower Framelit flower over the top of the brayerd image.

The card was difficult to photograph.  It came out looking like a shade of Peekaboo Peach rather than Pink Pirouette.  The color is actually Pink Pirouette with the sentiments stamped in Mellon Mambo. I originally tried Basic Black, and then I tried Rose Red for the sentiments, but Mellon Mambo was my final choice with Pink Pirouette images.  Basic Black overpowered the card and Rose Red seemed too faded.  Mellon Mambo added just the right amount of pop.

I used three different sentiments, all from the Rose Wonder stamp set.    I also cut both a Whisper White and a Pink Pirouette flower using the May Flowers thinlit die, and then offset the white underneath the Pink Pirouette layer to give the flower a bit of dimension.  Without the Whisper White layer, the flower seemed to blend into the background image.

Lovely Lace Embossing Folder brayed with Pink Pirouette ink on Whisper White card stock created this effect

This photo (above), shot at a different angle than the other cards captured the true Pink Pirouette colors of the original card best.  Click for a larger image to see the details in the double flower.

Here is a shot of all three cards together.  Depending on how the light hits each card, you see different shades from Peekaboo Peach to Pink Pirouette, even though all three are the same Pink Pirouette.  This is shot in nature daylight.  Anyone else have difficulty photographing Pink Pirouette?
