Darling Donkeys Stamp Set for all-occasions card making

  • Stampin' Up! Darling Donkeys Stamp Set
  • Darling Donkeys, a Free Sale-A-Bration Selection
  • In Bloom Bundle explained by Sara Douglas, Stampin Up! CEO

I can't get enough of this cute set, one of the Stampin' Up! Sale-a-Bration selections, called Darling Donkeys.  I paired it with the Brick & Mortar 3D Embossing Folder, the  Stitched Nested Labels Dies and the Be Mine Stitched Dies.  One of the prints from the In Good Taste Designer series Paper adds a layer of interest.   The sentiment is also from the Darling Donkeys Stamp Set, however, change it to a another sentiment and this could easily become a Valentine card.   These cute donkeys are great on birthday cards, on thinking-of-you cards, or for any occasions.

Card idea with hearts and donkeys using Darling Donkeys Stamp Set

The card above uses a basecard of Smoky Slate.  Then a layer of Whisper White (Basic White), and another layer of Smoky Slate dry embossed using the Brick & Mortar 3D Embossing Folder.  Then I added a die cuts of Whisper White and In Good Taste Designer Series Paper cut using the Stitched Nested Labels Dies.

The heart images are cut using the Be Mine Stitched Dies.  The two largest hearts are cut from Misty Moonlight Cardstock, and the smallest heart is die cut from a print from the In Good Taste Designer Series Paper.  The donkey image from Darling Donkeys was stamped in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink and then fussy cut before coloring with the Smoky Slate Stampin' Blends.  It is popped up on Dimensionals.  (He's sooo cute).   Three Misty Moonlight enamel dots were scattered around the image layer.

This is such a cute card!  you'll want to create several, like I did,  to have on hand to use to say "hi" to a friend, or to change up the sentiment and use as Birthday Cards or Welcome Baby, or for so many other reasons.  You can easily change the colors to more feminine colors for a baby girl or for a child's birthday.  This is one of the stamp sets you'll want to keep as a staple in your stamp collection!

Springtime Foils Specialty Designer Series Paper from Stampin' Up!

  • Springtime Foils is a free selection in SAB 2nd release
  • Select a free Sale-A-Bration item with $50 or$100 order

Sale-A-Bration Second Release begins Feb 16

I'm so excited to share today's card with you.  It uses the Springtime Foils Specialty Designer Series Paper from the Sale-A-Bration second release of free selections.  You can begin selecting additional Sale-A-Bration item on February 16.  I have to admit, I almost missed this paper pack in the Sale-A-Bration Second Release flyer.  It just looked like a mostly white set of printed Designer Series Paper -- not very exciting.  However, the more I looked at it, the more possibilities came to mind.  I thought to myself, "this looks perfect for coloring with Blends alcohol-based markers."  And it was!

What sets this item apart is that these 12 X 12" sheets are printed in gold or silver foil.  And the flower print is AMAZING!  Take a look at the photos below.  I used Blends to color one of the flower images, then fussy cut it and mounted it on another background paper with the gold foil dots -- another pattern in this Designer Series Paper pack. This paper pack includes 12 sheets of 12 X 12 papers, 3 each of 4 single-sided designs.  Look at the way the gold outline catches the light!  This was so hard to photograph, so I took extra photos to try to capture how beautiful this paper becomes when colored with Blends.  I'm definitely going to be ordering more of this Free Sale-A-Bration collection.

The dotted background paper also includes gold foil dots.  It is another pattern from the Springtime Foils Specialty Designer Series Paper pack.

Today, I began with a Pink Pirouette basecard.  The punched boarder is in Sweet Sugarplum, and then one of the backgrounds from the Springtime Foils Specialty Designer Series Paper.

I selected one of the gold outlined flowers from the Springtime Foils Specialty Designer Series Paper and colored it with Light and Dark Pink Pirouette Blends Markers and Light and Dark Old Olive Blends Marker.  showing this set with an extra technique for the flower centers.  The fussy-cut flower is mounted on dimensionals.

The Sweet Sugarplum boarders are punched with the Decorate Ribbon Boarder punch.

The Pink Pirouette metallic gold edge ribbon?  I used the Dark Pink Pirouette Blends to color the Very Vanilla 3/8" Gold Metallic-Edge Ribbon to match my card.  I love how the ribbon compliments the gold bling on the rest of the card.

The sentiment is stamped in Berry Burst on a die cut created with a die from the Petals and More Thinlits Dies.  I matted the Whisper White sentiment with a small piece of Rich Razzleberry.  I love how Stampin' Up! colors compliment each other so well.
