Stampin' Up! Countryside Inn Suite and Lazy Days Stamp Set makes a fun-fold card

  • Stampin' Up! Countryside Inn Suite & Lazy Days Stamp Set
  • Catalog walk through video with Sara Douglas, Stampin' Up! CEO
  • Did you notice the changes to the Stampin' Write Markers?
Today I'm showcasing items from the Stampin' Up! Countryside Inn Suite as well as the Lazy Days Stamp set from the newly released Stampin' Up! Annual catalog.  I'm using one of the prints from the Countryside Inn Designer Series Paper along with the Countryside Corners Dies and the new Boho Blue In Color and Basic White Cardstock.  This card is easy to make and the cutting dimensions are below.  I stamped the images from the Lazy Days Stamp Set in Night of Navy, and tucked one edge of the Boho Blue layer under the Basic White layer before gluing the inside Basic White layer in place.  I added one of the new Blueberry Bushed adhesive-backed gems from the Tinsel Gems Four Pack on my image layer, and I added a half of a Velcro Dot to hold the flap in place.  You could choose to leave it loose, but it felt more "finished" with the Velcro dot holding the flap in place.  The sentiment on the front flap and on the inside of the card are both from the Lazy Days Stamp Set and they are also stamped in Night of Navy ink.  The Lazy Days Stamp Set has a coordinating Dies set, called Lazy Days Dies, which I used to mask the chair and side table before I stamped the woodgrain floor.   The Lazy Days Bundle can be purchased at a 10% Saving over purchasing the Stamp Set and Dies Separately, Item #161343 | $52.00 USD $58.00 USD.   The Countryside Corners Dies also has a coordinating stamp, and these two items can also be purchased as a Bundle, Item #161472 | $45.75 USD $51.00 USD.  I love that Stampin' Up! products work so well across the product line, and you'll enjoy creating cards to fit many occasions.

The basecard for today's card is Boho Blue Cardstock.  Then a layer of one of the prints from the Country Side Inn 12" X 12" Designer Series Paper.  The Flap is die cut using the Countryside Corners Dies, and the image layer is Basic White Cardstock.

Floral greeting cards with a rocking chair and side table using Stampin' Up! Lazy days Stamp Set

I stamped images from the Lazy Days Stamp Set in Night of Navy Ink on the Basic White Layer.  There are separate image's for the rocking chair, the side table and the wood flooring, so you can position them as you please.  I also used the Lazy days Dies to create masks for the Rocking Chair and side table before I stamped the flooring.

The sentiment is also from the Lazy Days Stamp Set and it is stamped in Night of Navy ink.  I added a Blueberry Bushel Gem from the Tinsel Gems Four Pack to the side of my flap.  I also added half of a Velcro Dot to the underside of the flap so that the flap would stay closed.  (See below)

Here are the cutting Dimensions for this card.

Basecard:  5-1/2" X 7-1/2", scored at 4-1/4"

Front:  Designer Series Paper:  2-7/8" X 5-1/8"

Inside:  4" X 5-1/4"

Flap using Countryside Corners Dies:  Using the second to the largest, and the third to the largest dies from this set:
  • On the Boho Blue layer, score at 3-3/4"
  • On the Basic White layer, cut at 3-1/8"

Align the score line of the Boho Blue layer against the 5-1/4" edge of the Inside cardstock and glue to the underside of the Inside layer.  Then glue the Inside layer into place inside the card.

Stamp the images onto the smaller tab, and then glue the smaller layer onto the larger tab layered under the Inside of the card.

Stamp the inside sentiment

Add a Velcro dot to hold the card closed.

Catalog Walk through Videos with Sara Douglas

With the launch of the New Stampin' Up Annual Catalog, it is sometimes difficult to see the details of new products from the flat catalog pages.    Sara Douglas, Stampin' Up! CEO, walked us through some of the marvelous products introduced in the new catalog in the video below.

I love that the Stampin' Up! product line has such variety.  There's something for everyone.  If you create cards for adults or business friends, there are sophisticated stamps and products for you to use.  If you want to celebrate a fun birthday for a child or young adults, there are perfect product to use to create favors, treat holder, and birthday cards.  If you need a Spanish language sentiment or themes, you'll find them among the products in this catalog.  Sara gives us a close up of products and new colors you'll want to see.  If the video doesn't show below, here is the Facebook link:  https://fb.watch/kiLFnW3FSN/

Changes to Stampin' Write Blends

Did you notice the changes to the Blends Stampin' Write Markers?  I pulled out my old Fresh Freesia Stampin' Write Marker and compared it to the new style Fresh Freesia Stampin' Write Marker in the Core Color set.

You can see a couple of changes right away.  The new style Stampin' Wright Marker is on the right and the old style Marker is on the left.  You'll notice that the old style had the marker color on the brush side of the  barrel when you removed the cap.  The new style barrel is solid black.  You'll also notice the cap on the new style is just  slightly shorter than the cap on the old style Stampin' Write Markers.  I check other old style markers and they all used to have the color of the marker on the barrel of the brush side.

When I uncapped the fine tip side of the Stampin' Wright Marker, I notices that the tip of the new style markers is now more blunt.  I tested the new tip (top) and the old-style tip (bottom) because I often use my Stampin' Write Markers to write messages in my cards that coordinate or compliment the colors I've used on my card.  I personally like the new bolder tip.  I think it will also be useful for inking delicate stamps where you want more than one color on your sentiment or image stamps. Often, when I used the brush side of a marker to ink a stamp, I would get color where I didn't want it.  The new blunt tip should give much better control when inking stamps.  I think I'm going to enjoy the changes Stampin' Up! made to the Stampin' Write Markers!
