Greeting card idea using Celebrate Sunflowers and Sunflowers Die

  • Stampin' Up Celebrate Sunflowers & Sunflowers Dies
  • Attend the Free virtual October 1 World Card Making Day
  • Or, Join us in NW Houston for a free watch party for World Card Making Day event
I'm having so much fun with all the Sunflower sets in the Stampin' Up! Annual Catalog.   The Celebrate Sunflowers set has a coordinating set of dies called the Sunflowers Dies, and today, I decided to create a very simple, clean card with this set.  I'm using Basic White cardstock and Basic white Sunflower Die cuts.  I also used the Timeworn Type 3D Embossing folder to create a bit of textured background for the Sunflowers.  I wanted something with color to represent the real sunflowers, and decided to use a yellow ribbon for my bow. The sentiment is from the Celebrate Sunflowers Stamp set, and it is stamped in Old Olive and fussy cut  before adding to the card.    You'll enjoy creating your own Sunflower card using the Celebrate Sunflowers Stamp Set and Sunflowers Dies from Stampin' Up!

Sunglower Greeting Card using Stampin' Up! Celebrate Sunflowers

This card uses a Thick Basic White Cardstock basecard.  Then a layer of Basic White dry embossed using the Timeworn Type 3D Embossing Folder.

Then, I used the Sunflowers Die to Die cut two of the Sunflower die cuts and a leaf out of Basic White cardstock.  I also cut one center for the sunflowers, which I punched with twice with the Very Vest Trio Punch from the July - December 2022 Mini Catalog, to create slits for the ribbon to thread through.

I created a bow and threaded it through the center of the sunflower and under the Sunflower die cuts.  I stamped the sentiment form the Celebrating Sunflowers Stamp Set in Old Olive ink and fussy cut it before adding it to my card ffont mounted on Dimensionals.

Product Bundles:  At this FREE virtual event, we'll make 3 cards using three Stampin' Up Product Bundles that you can purchase now so you have them in time for the live card making event.
  • Cottage Rose Bundle - Item #159048 -
  • Cottage Wreaths Bundle - Item #159659
  • Warm Welcome Bundle - Item #160704
What fun!  Cottage Rose is from the Annual Catalog.  Cottage Wreaths is from the July-December 2022 Mini Catalog.  And Warm Welcome is from the upcoming January-June 2023 Mini Catalog.  Yes!  You can purchase the Warm Welcome set before the 2023 Mini Catalog is released!

Don't have these sets to use?  No problem!  Find similar sets among your existing sets, and create your cards using sets you already own. For instance,  instead of Cottage Wreath, consider using Natural Prints from the Annual Catalog.  This is what I'll be using.  But I've already ordered the other two set.  I can't wait to get my hands on the new set from the 2023 Mini Catalog.

Project Measurements:  Before the event, use the Stampin' Up! cutting guide to precut the cardstock needed for the three cards Stampin' Up! will show us how to create.  They will also show us some new techniques.

I'm planning to cut two sets of cardstock for each card so I'm ready to make a second card once the live event ends.  That way I'll have one card as a sample and a second card ready to send.
