I can't stop playing with the Hand-Penned Suite!  I love the colors, I love the soft floral prints in the Designer Series Paper.  I love that so many other Stampin' Up! dies and punches work so well with it.  Today I'm mixing several additional dies and papers with the Hand-Penned Designer Series Paper.  If you haven't discovered the 2021-2023 In Color Shimmer Vellum paper, you're going to want to add it to your Shopping List.  I used the Pale Papaya Vellum from this Vellum pack behind the wings of a Pale Papaya Butterfly created using the Brilliant Wings Dies and loved the results!  You will too!.  I also used the Pretty Flowers Embossing Folder for the first time today.  Oh my gosh!  What a lovely background this embossing folder creates.  And both sides of the embossed paper give your projects a different feel.  I added a butterfly using the Brilliant Wings Dies, and the Garden Green layer was created using the Ornate Layers Dies I used the Layering Circles Dies to create the sentiment layer, and you might want to try the Double Oval Punch as an alternative for your sentiment.

Hand made butterfly greeting card using Brilliant Butterflies Dies from Stampin' Up!

The basecard for this card is Basic White Thick Cardstock.  Then another layer of Basic White dry embossed using the Pretty Flowers Embossing Folder.  Then a Garden Green layer die cut using the Ornate Layers Dies.  The image layer uses the Pale Papaya as a matt for one of the prints from the Hand-Penned 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper Pack.

The Pale Papaya Butterfly was Die cut using the Brilliant wings Dies.  I also use other dies in this set to die cut the solid butterfly from 2021-2023 In Color Shimmer Vellum.  This is such a beautiful matt for the butterfly.  I tried the butterfly without this matt initially, but the print behind the butterfly showed through the die cuts in the detailed butterfly causing the butterfly to fade into the Hand-Penned print.

I created the sentiment layering using two of the circles from the Layering Circles Dies.  The bottom layer is a scalloped circle from Pale Papaya Cardstock.  I added a few Genial Gems to the circle for a little bling.  The sentiment is from the Forever Fern Stamp Set,  I stamped the sentiment in Garden Green ink onto the Basic White die-cut circle.

I love mixing and matching my stamps dies and papers when creating cards.  Its part of my creative process to see which items work with each other, even if they weren't originally part of a coordinating suite or bundle.  Of course, that's one of the benefits of working with Stampin' Up! products.  You can stretch your crafting investment when colors, stamps and tools work well together.  Find more ways to save with this month's specials.  See below. Order from my Stampin' Up! shopping site  24 X 7.

Another Sneak Peek of the Hand- Penned Petals Stamp Set from Stampin' Up!

  • Stampin' Up! Hand-Penned Petals Stamp Set
  • Stampin' Up! Hand-Penned Designer Series Paper
  • New In Colors launch 4 May along with new Annual Catalog

I'm more in love with the Hand-Penned Petals Stamp Set every time I use it.  This is a new suite of products, called Hand-Penned found on page 104-105 of the upcoming Stampin' Up! Annual Catalog being released 4 May 2021.   It doesn't matter if you are a new stamper or an expert stamper, this suite gives you the variety plus the simplicity to quickly create beautiful cards you'll be so proud to share with special people in your life.  I've used one of the coordinating prints from the Hand-Penned 12" X 12" Designer Series Paper, and I used both of the main flower images from the Hand-Penned Petals Stamp Set.  This set of designer series papers coordinates with the new In Color, and I'm showing it with the Fresh Freesia In Color as my main accent color, along with the coordinating 3/8" Open Weave Ribbon. Customers can begin ordering from the new Stampin' Up! Annual Catalog on 4 May 2021.

The basecard for this cards is Fresh Freesia.  Then a layer of one of the prints from the Hand-Penned Designer Series Paper.  Then I created an accent banner from Fresh Freesia.  The images are printed on a circle of Basic White.

On the samples below, you can see two different main floral images from this stamp set.  I stamped them in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.  The reason this stamp set has become one of my favorites so quickly is the different choices for coloring the images.  The Hand-Penned Petals Stamp Set includes images not only for the outline of the flowers and leaves, but also gives you stamps that quickly color the images.  This saves sooo much time if you need a lovely card in a hurry. And I love that the stamps that stamp the colors doesn't match up perfectly with the flower petals, giving your images that hand-colored look. However, you also have the option of coloring the flowers using Blends, or Ink Pads and Watercolor Pens or Stampin' Write Markers.  The new catalog includes these coloring tools in the new In Colors. This suite also includes a set of Dies for the florals, leaves and a scalloped border, that coordinates with this stamp set. It is called Penned Flowers Dies on page 159 of the new catalog. Yet you can see that you can create lovely cards using only the stamp set and papers.  However, purchasing the stamp set and dies bundle together will save you 10% over purchasing them separately.

I added a bow in Fresh Freesia in the new 3/8" Open Weave Ribbon to each floral image.  Along the bottom of the banner, I added three of the Fresh Freesia 2021-2023 In Color Jewels.  I'm going to have to buy a lot more of these 2021-2023 In Color Jewels.  They are so much fun to add to any of your In Color projects.
