Dragonfly Garden paired with Healing Hugs Stamp Set

  • Stampin' Up! Dragonfly Garden Stamp Set
  • Coordinating Dragonflies Punch from the Dragonfly Garden Bundle
  • January-June 2021 Mini Catalog and SAB are on the way
I decided to combine the new Dragonfly Garden Stamp Set with the Healing Hugs Stamp Set to make today's card.  I used Bermuda Bay ink to stamp flowers, dragonflies and sentiment, plus I decorated the envelope with one of the stamps from the Dragonfly Garden.  Beginning 1 December 2020 Demonstrators can order Dragonfly Garden Stamp Set with their preorder from the January-June 2021 Mini catalog, a perk for being a Demonstrator.  On January 5 customers can order from the new catalog.  I love pairing Stampin' Up! Stamps together to create lovely cards.

Floral and Dragonflies Thank you card

The cards today have different orientations, but use the same color combinations, stamps and both use the new Dragon Flies Punch with images from the Dragonfly Garden.  The basecard is Thick Whisper White.  Then a layer of Bermuda Bay cardstock, and the image layer is Whisper White.

The large flower from the Healing Hugs Stamp Set is stamped in each of the four corners.  On the vertical card, I stamped the flowers full strength.  On the horizontally oriented card I stamped the flowers off first, which I thought would make the dragonflies pop more, but in the end, I think I like the full-strength flowers on the vertical card best.  I then stamped one of the Dragonfly Garden images in Bermuda Bay and punched it out using the Dragonflies Punch.  Because the punch punches both large and small dragonflies at the same time, I was careful to only punch one  large dragonfly at a time.

I added  sentiments from the Dragonfly Garden stamped in Bermuda Bay ink again.  I used two different die cut shapes.  The horizontal card uses a die cut from the Tasteful Labels Dies.  I hand cut a Bermuda Bay mat to fit behind the label.    The vertical card uses a scalloped rectangle from the Stitched so sweetly Dies.  The Dragonflies and the sentiments labels are mounted on Dimensionals. To add a little bling,  I added 3/8" Pool Party Sheer Ribbon to one card and scattered a few Blue Adhesive-Backed Gems onto each card.

Stampin' Up! Healing Hugs Stamp Set + Catalog Changeover News

  • Healing Hugs in Shades of Spring
  • Must read News from Stampin' Up! about upcoming catalog changes

Stampin' Up! Healing Hugs

Have you ever started out making one card and it turned into a completely different card?  That's what happened when I started creating today.  While this isn't the simple card I had in mind, I'm happy with the final result.  I used Healing Hugs for most of the images and Hand Delivered, a Host set, for the sentiments.  You'll love working with this set.

The basecard for today's card is Thick Whisper White.  Then a layer of Highland Heather dry embossed with the Tufted embossing folder.    Then a layer of Gorgeous Grape dry embossed with the Subtle embossing folder.  Then the image layer is a piece of Whisper White dry embossed with the Corrugated embossing folder.  I had an old package of Whisper White cardstock that's been on my shelf for awhile, and found that I needed to spray the Whisper White lightly with plain water before I used the Corrugated embossing folder or my paper cracked.

The two flower images were stamped in Highland Heather and the other in Gorgeous Grape on Whisper White cardstock, and I hand cut them.  The leaves were stamped in Granny Apple Green and were also hand cut.  There is a silver foil set of leaves and a Granny Apple Green set of leads cut from the Petals & More Thinlit Dies.  I also punches some vellum leaves using the Leaf punch.

The sentiment die cut and the piece backing is are also die cuts from the Petals & More Thinlits Dies.  The sentiments, from the Hand Delivered Stamp Set are stamped in Gorgeous Grape ink onto the Whisper White Die cut.  A few Silver Frosted & Clear Epoxy Droplets, a carry over from the Holiday catalog, were used to accent the card.

The Healing Hugs stamp set is one of my favorite stamp set from the current catalog and I sincerely hope it remains in the new catalog.  Read more below about news Stampin' Up! has passed on to us about the upcoming new catalog.  I'm getting my new catalog mailing list set up this month.  If you've purchased from me in the past 6 months, you'll be on the my list to receive a new catalog.  If you haven't purchased and don't have a current Stampin' Up! demonstrator, I would love to be your demonstrator.  Contact me, so I can add you to my new catalog mailing list.

Catalog Changeover news from Stampin' Up!

Watch for more news from OnStage-San Antonio, TX April 13

The new Stampin' Up! catalog for 2019-2020 will launch June 4.  To help you plan, Stampin' Up! announced these upcoming changes you'll want to consider as you plan your Stampin' Up! purchases the next month or two.

  • Die-Cutting and Embossing Product Line Changes.  The relationship with the current vendor has been reassessed, and Stampin' Up! has decided to move in a new directions.  This change is taking time to resolve and one issue is that no die-cutting and embossing machine will be offered in the new 2019-2020 Stampin' Up! catalog.  New dies and embossing folders will be offered in the 2019-2010 annual catalog using the new supplier.  The dies and folders will be manufactured differently.  This means the way you use the new style of dies and folders will be a little different than how you use the old style dies and folder.  Both the new-style and old-style dies and embossing folders can work with any die-cutting & embossing machine. (In some cases, adaptations like shims may be required because the gap between rollers on machines may vary slightly between manufacturers).  The new relationship is direct between Stampin' Up! and the manufacturer instead of working with another company who then works with different factories.  This gives Stampin' Up! greater control and potential in the manufacturing process.  We're have more to share with you as the relationship proceeds.
  • The current Stampin' Trimmer will be discontinued June 3, 2019, including all accessories--replacement cutting blades, scoring blades, and cutting mats.  A new trimmer will eventually be carried in the catalog.  During the gap while Stampin' Up! selects a new vendor, you may want to order additional cutting blades and cutting mats for your current Stampin' Trimmer.
  • The retired products list will become available April 15.  I will post the retiring list to my blog as soon as it become available.  You will want to pick up any stamp sets, accessories, papers or dies you've had on your wish list immediately after the retiring list is published, as many of the most popular retiring items tend to sell out quickly once the retired list is announced.
  • Stampin' Up! reviewed their pricing and there are several increases coming with the new catalog including slight increases on 8-1/2 X 11" cardstock, Versamark pad, envelopes, embossing powder, Stampin' Scrub, Stampin' Mist and Stampin' Mist refills, Foil Sheets, and Note cards & Envelopes.  This is a heads up to stock up on these supplies before the new prices go into affect. These new prices will be in effect with the new 2019-2020 catalog published June 4, including Demonstrator Pre-Orders from the new catalog.
  • I'm attend Stampin' Up! OnStage this week end-- April 13.  Watch for posts from the event with news on upcoming products in the new 2019-2020 annual catalog.

Stampin' Up! Healing Hugs Stamp Set for Get Well Cards

  • Stampin' Up! Healing Hugs Stamp set
  • Craft Holiday cards during a fun afternoon class - November 18

Stampin' Up! Healing Hugs Get Well Cards

Today's card was one of the swaps I used at Stampin' Up! On Stage last week in Orlando for one of the organized swaps in which I participated. I used the Healing Hugs stamp set, one of the Distinktive stamps, a patented technology used by Stampin' Up! to create stamped images with details and depth that previously could only be created with a two or three stamping steps.  The Distinktive process gives your images much more realism while saving stamping time, which is one of the reasons I chose this stamp set for making multiple swap cards.  It packs a "wow" with minimal work.

I used a Thick Very Vanilla cardstock for my base card.  Then a Layer of Fresh Fig. Then a layer of Very Vanilla dry embossed with the Tufted Embossing folder.

For the image layers, I stamped the rose image from Healing Hugs stamp set in Fresh Fig ink and fussy cut it.  Then I stamped two sets of the leaves from Healing Hugs in Old Olive and fussy cut them.

Behind the rose and leaves I die cut the square image from Stained Glass Thinlits Dies from Fresh Fig cardstock.  Then I popped the rose image up on Dimensionals and adhered the rose and leaves to the center of the die cut.  Then I added 3 Pearl Basic Jewels around the rose.

Tip:  While you can back your die cut with Multipurpose Adhesive sheets before die cutting, in this case, I used a sponge and my Silicone Craft Sheet.  I added Multipurpose glue onto a sponge and then dabbed the sponge with glue onto the back of each die cut square.  It was faster that removing the Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets from four sides of a square when making multiple cards. I use several Silicone Craft Sheets, and once I was finished, I cleaned the glue off of my Silicone Craft sheets with hand sanitizer and then soap and water.

I added a bow and ruffled ribbon of 3/8" Fresh Fig Ruffled Ribbon to the bottom third of the card.

Then I die cut a label for the sentiment using one of the Stitched Labels Framelit Dies.  The sentiment is from Healing Hugs, which includes 3 additional sentiments.  It is stamped in Fresh Fig.  The ribbon goes through one of the holes in the end of the label and under the label, which secures the top of the label.  The bottom of the label is secured with a Dimensional to hold it in place. I really like how this card turned out!

Find this stamp set and dies on my Stampin' Up Store, and other holiday and dies in the  Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog.  Order your holiday stamp sets and dies soon so you'll have them in plenty of time to create your handmade holiday cards.
