I haven't put the Sending Smiles Stamp Set away yet. I just keep finding ways to use this fun set. Today, I created a pattern with the blossoms and greenery from the stamps included in this set. I used Crushed Curry and Smoky Slate as my color palette, and added the sentiment in Basic White onto a Smoky Slate background. Choose your favorite color combinations and give this simple technique a try! Today's card uses a base card of Smoky Slate Cardstock. Then a print with Crushed Curry and Daffodil Delight from the retired Daffodil Afternoon Designer Series Paper. But here's a tip: Almost every catalog has at least one Designer Series Paper Pack with a print that uses Crushed Curry and/or Daffodil Delight. So I'm sure you'll find a similar print within the 12 X 12 or 6X 6 Designer Series Paper. I'm determined to use up the many packs of open, retired Designer Series Papers I have in my paper stash this year! Then I cut a Basic White layer to use as my image layer.
I used the Sending Smiles Stamp Set and Crushed Curry with Smoky Slate ink to stamp images across my image layer. Then, to create the two layers for the word "Sending," I die cut the backing out of Smoky Slate Cardstock using the coordinating Sending Dies. Then there is another die to die cut the lettering for the word "Sending". Tip: I found that backing my Basic White Cardstock with a layer of Adhesive Sheets before die cutting, made it very easy to the apply the word to the backing layer of Smoky Slate.
I die cut another sentiment strip using Smoky Slate and stamped sentiments from the Sending Smiles Stamp Set to complete the Sending phrase. To finish my card, I added some of the 2021- 2023 In Color Opal Rounds indifferent sizes. I love that these Opal Rounds colors coordinate with many more ink and Cardstock colors than their original color.
