Mini Catalog Sneak Peek using the Life Is Beautiful Stamp Set

  • Life is Beautiful Stamp Set
  • An early Sneak Peek from the new August-December Mini catalog

Stampin' Up! Life is Beautiful Stamp Set

Continuing with Sneak Peeks from the upcoming August-December 2020 Mini Catalog, I'm using the Stampin' Up! Life is Beautiful Stamp Set.   I was trying to recreate the beautiful sunset after the rains earlier today using a watercolor wash and stamping over the water coloring.  Life is Beautiful Stamp Set is another new stamp set you can look forward to ordering beginning August 4.  This is a great set for Fall themes.  I can see using it for late summer sunsets, falling leaves, spooky Halloween themes, as well as snowy winter looks.  This is one of those stamp sets you reach for time and time again.

The basecard for this card is Smoky Slate.  then a layer of Basic Black.  The image layer is Fluid 100 watercolor Paper.  I created the watercolor portion by masking off an area using Blue painters tape.  Then I sprayed the Watercolor Paper with a light layer of water.  I then used a Water Painter with Petal Pink Stamp  Pad and Calypso Coral Stamp Pad to layer on ink.  I used my Heat Tool to quickly dry the Watercolor Paper.

Then, to stamped the images, I used the Stamparatus, as I wanted to ensure that the large tree image would stamp as solidly as possible.    I'm glad I did as it took 3 tries to get the coverage I wanted.

I used the Stamparatus to add the birdhouse and the sentiments.  Both sentiments are on the cards above are from the Life is Beautiful Stamp Set.  I wanted a little sparkle, so I added three Elegant Faceted Gems to the card.

This is a great set if you are just getting started and don't have a wide range of supplies.  You can do simple stamping with ink, paper and stamps and create cards that cover many different seasons. Yet, you'll also find many was to create more sophisticate card using embossing powder, border dies and label dies.  You'll want to see the many more samples on page 51 when you receive your August-December 2020 Mini Catalog.  Add this suite to your Shopping List today.  You'll be able to order it beginning August 4, 2020.

Ready for August-December 2020 Mini catalog?

Spending time with family and friends is more important this year than most after what we've been through the first half of this year.  Getting together is even better when we add crafting.  We create, we talk, we connect.  When we finish, we not only have handmade creations to share, we have memories to cherish.

My customers who have ordered in the past 6 months will soon receive the August-December 2020 Mini catalog (formerly known as the Holiday catalog) in their mailbox. Demonstrators are already placing pre-orders from the entire Mini catalog, and are busy making sample to share with you to see what's coming!

We are receiving this catalog a month earlier than last year.  Yeah!  Customers can begin ordering from this new catalog on August 4.  That's almost a month earlier than previous years.  That means you'll have additional time to create Fall and Holiday cards with these lovely, new stamps sets and dies.

If you live in the USA and don't have a demonstrator, and want a copy of the new Stampin' Up! August-December 2020 Mini Catalog, contact me.   I would love to be your Stampin' Up! Demonstrator.

Stampin' Up! Mediterranean Moments Occasions Catalog Sneak Peek

  • Stampin' Up! Mediterranean Moments Sneak Peek
  • Watercolor pencils are back!
  • Stampin' Up! Year End Close Out Sale

Mediterranean Moments Watercolor Card

I'm soooo excited.  The upcoming Stampin' Up! Occasions catalog, which goes live January 4, will include watercolor pencils, which we haven't sold in a few years.  Two of the many new sets that will give your colored pencils a workout are Beautiful You and the stamp set I'm giving you a Sneak Peek of today, Mediterranean Moments.

Several new watercolor stamp sets are part of the new Occasions Catalog available January 4

I admit that water coloring isn't my strong suite, but I loved the images in the Mediterranean Moments stamp set and I ordered it as part of my demonstrator pre-order from Stampin' Up! OnStage back in November.  Then I had to wait for the watercolor pencils until my demo pre-order arrived in early December.  It was worth the wait.

I got interested in Watercolor pencils again while visiting my mom a couple months ago.  She had received an adult coloring book and colored pencils as a gift and it was sitting unused on her table.  While we were chatting one afternoon, I opened the book and we both started coloring one of the pages while we were having our conversation.  It was soooo relaxing.  I enjoyed reminiscing with my mother,  and we created something beautiful together at the same time.  I jumped for joy when I saw the new set of Stampin' Up! watercolor pencils in the Occasions catalog during OnStage.

Case with and without die cut

I have a tip for you that I picked up from another demo:  My craft room lighting is great during the day; lots of natural sun light.  After the sun goes down, no matter how many lamps or overhead lights I turn on, I have trouble discerning the pencil colors by looking only at the lead.  So I grabbed an old thinlits set and cut a window in my watercolor pencil box.  Now I can see just which color I want without taking them all out of the box!

Stampin' Up! Watercolor case with die cut opening

Although the pencil colors are shown on the back of the pencil case, which is nice, also; this little die cut window I added myself does a better job of helping pick the color I need more quickly.

Colors on the back of the pencil case vs. my die cut window

.  What do you think?  Easier?  I thought so.
