Another Valentine Card with Meant to Be Stamp Set

  • Stampin' Up! Meant To Be Stamp Set
  • Time to get your Lovely Lipstick on
  • Make Beautiful Bows like the one below

Stampin' Up! Meant To Be

I'm still not finished with all my Valentine's Card.  Are You?  Here's a design I created today that is very, very simple, yet looks amazing.  It uses the Stampin' Up! Meant To Be Stamp Set, the All My Love Designer Series Paper, and a ribbon and epoxy hearts from the All My Love Suite from the Stampin' Up! Occasions catalog plus papers from the Stampin' Up! annual catalog

I used a basecard of Lovely Lipstick cardstock.  I wasn't sure I would like this color as much as I did once I started using it this year.  I'm so happy Stampin' Up! added it as one of the new In Colors.  Then I used a layer of Whisper White.  Next, for my image layer I used All My Love Designer Series Paper.

The sentiment is from the Meant To Be Stamp Set.  I die cut the largest circle from Whisper White using the Stitched Shapes Framelit and stamped the sentiment in Lovely Lipstick.  I also selected the swirl or flowers boarder from the same set and stamped it under the sentiment.  Below that, I added three of the smallest Heart Epoxy Droplets from the All My Love suite on Pg 5 of the Occasions catalog.

The bow on the card uses All My Love Ribbon Combo Pack from the All My Love Suite.  It includes two different ribbons.  I used the 1/3" Lovely Lipstick ribbon with the white stitched edge for my card.

If you're still deciding on your Valentine stamp sets for this year's cards, the Meant To Be Stamp set along with the All My Love Designer Series Paper is a great purchase.  I love that the All My Love Designer Series Paper includes several prints that can be used long after Valentine's Day is over.  You'll find this paper package to be a great value for Valentines and beyond. However, you'll want to order your Valentine's stamp sets this week so they reach you in time for you to make handmade cards for your loved ones.  Remember that each $50 order earns you a free selection from the Sale-A-Bration brochure.

How do I create such beautiful bows?

I'm often asked how I create such beautiful bows for my cards, like the one on the card above.  Several years ago my husband made me a small, wooden bow maker with a couple of wooden pegs that store in the end of the wood block when not in use.

Since then people attending my classes requested he make more for them to purchase.  He recently made another small batch, and I have a few remaining.  Sold only in the USA.  US$30.00 - includes shipping to continental USA.  Paypal to dje-ross@swbell.net along with your shipping address, or contact me to send you a PayPal invoice for your own wooden bow maker. Limited time offer until they are gone.

Dress up your Petal Promenade Designer Series Paper with Beautifully Detailed Laser-Cut Paper

  • More card ideas using Petal Promenade Designer Series Paper
  • Dress Up your cards using Beautifully Detailed Laser-Cut Paper

Stampin' Up! Petal Promenade Designer

Today's post will be short as I'm still working on swaps to take with me to San Antonio On Stage tomorrow.  Stampin' Up! is hosting On Stage events for Demonstrators all over the world and we're seeing sneak peeks of the new catalog coming out in June and fun photos of the events going on at the On Stage Live event in Auckland Australia.  I can't wait to get to San Antonio to see all of the great new products we'll have this next year.

Until then, today's card is actually a card I created previously -- before we had the Beautifully Detailed Laser-Cut Paper.  As I was playing around with the different pieces of the paper, this one fell onto of this card and I let out a little gasp at how beautiful the card looked!.  I love how it dressed up the card.

The basecard for today's card is Thick Whisper White.  Then a layer of Berry Burst, and then a layer of Petal Promenade Designer Series Paper.  Then I selected one Beautifully Detailed Laser- Cut Papers and sponged the backside with glue and attached it to the card front.

I used a sentiment from the Beautiful Promenade stamp set and stamped it in Mossy Meadow on the front of the card.

Then I tied a double bow out of Berry Burst 3/8" Silver-Edged Ribbon using my trusty wooden bow maker that my dear husband made for me years ago, and adhered the bow to the card with a mini Glue Dot.  Tip:  I usually use a couple Mini Glue Dots and heat the glue dots and bow for a minute with my Heat Tool to ensure that the glue stays attached.

I'm getting my new catalog mailing list set up this month.  If you've purchased from me in the past 6 months, you'll be on the my list to receive a new catalog in late May.  If you haven't purchased and don't have a current Stampin' Up! demonstrator, I would love to be your demonstrator.  Contact me, so I can add you to my new catalog mailing list.

Fast, Easy Thank You Card using Petal Promenade Designer Series Paper

  • Just a Note on Petal Promenade Designer Series Paper
  • Today is the Last Chance to Sign Up for a New Catalog, if you aren't already my customer
  • New Annual Catalog News

Stampin' Up! Petal Promenade

I have a very fast, easy card for you today.  It uses the Petal Promenade Designer Series Paper and the Tailored Tag Punch.  I also reach for one of my old favorites for the sentiments, the Flourishing Phrase Stamp Set.  I'm so happy this set will carry over to the new catalog as a Red Rubber Cling stamp set.   If you love Petal Promenade papers as much as I do, check out my Tutorial Tab for a Petal Promenade Tutorial.

The basecard for today's card is Mossy Meadow cardstock.  Then a layer of Calypso Coral.    Then a layer of Petal Promenade Designer Series Paper.

The bow is the 3/8" Gold Metallic-Edge Ribbon, tied in a double bow using my wooden bow maker my husband made for me many years ago.

The sentiment die shape is punched with the Tailored Tag Punch.  The sentiment is stamped on the Whisper White Tailored Tag shape in Mossy Meadow.  I punched two addition Tailored Tags out of Calypso Coral cardstock and used them to mat the sentiment shape.

Tonight, April 30, I'm putting in my order for new catalogs.  If you've purchased from me in the past 6 months, you'll be on the my list to receive a new catalog.  However, if you've said you didn't want to receives mailings from Stampin' Up! when you set up your account, I'm not allowed to mail to you.  Check your Stampin' Up! online account to make sure I can mail a new catalog to you.

If you haven't purchased and don't have a current Stampin' Up! demonstrator, I would love to be your demonstrator.  Contact me, immediately, so I can add you to my new catalog mailing list before I finalize it this evening.

Catalog Changeover Notices

The new Stampin' Up! catalog for 2019-2020 will launch June 4.  The Last-Chance items have been posted and this is a reminder to take a look at the items in my online store on the Last-Chance List and pick up your favorites before they are gone.   If you need Excel or PDF versions of the Last-Chance listings to update your craft room, see my previous post with these list.

  • Bundle pricing goes away on carry over items.  When Stampin' Up! introduces new bundles (stamp sets and coordinating dies or punches), they offer it at a 10% savings if you purchase the stamp set and coordinating item together.  However, if that bundle carries over to another catalog, the bundle pricing goes away and the stamp set and coordinating items are offered individually.  If you haven't yet purchased a bundle that is going to carry over to the new catalog, purchase it by June 3 to receive the bundle pricing.
  • New Vendor Selected for Dies.  The new die vendor provides dies with a different cutting edge (outside edge) while out current dies have the cutting edge on the inside edge of the die.  New die sets in the June annual catalog will come from the new vendor.  I've been playing with several of the new dies, and I love the new dies. In my opinion, they seem to be more substantial than our existing dies.  And, they seem to cut more smoothly than our current dies.  I've used several that include a greater amount of detail than our current dies, with less need for using the die brush to remove small details.  You're going to love them!  On carry-over die sets from the current catalog, if you order these dies you will receive the current style until supplies run out and then you will receive the new style.  Both will work in your current die cutting machine.
  • The current Stampin' Trimmer will be discontinued June 3, 2019, including all accessories--replacement cutting blades, scoring blades, and cutting mats.  A new trimmer will eventually be carried in the catalog.  During the gap while Stampin' Up! selects a new vendor, you may want to order additional cutting blades or a new Stampin' Trimmer, if yours is as old as the one I just replaced.  Cutting mats for the Stampin' Trimmer sold out almost immediately after this change was announced.  Blades are currently sold out, but blades will be coming back in stock for the Stampin' Trimmer in batches until September 2019.  When Stampin' Up! announces another batch of blades are back in stock, I'll announce it on my blog and email my mailing lists.  If you're looking for blades, I recommend you order extra blades as soon as you see my updates.
  • Price Increases Announced Earlier but bears repeating.  Stampin' Up! reviewed their pricing and there are several increases coming with the new catalog including slight increases on 8-1/2 X 11" cardstock, Versamark ink pad, envelopes, embossing powder, Stampin' Scrub, Stampin' Mist and Stampin' Mist refills, Foil Sheets, and Note cards & Envelopes.  This is a heads up to stock up on these supplies before the new prices go into effect. These new prices will be in effect with the new 2019-2020 catalog published June 4, including Demonstrator Pre-Orders from the new catalog.
