Southern Serenade Stamp Set

This time of year is so hard to work in my craft room.  As I select papers and stamps for cards, I'm faced with items that are retiring in just over a month.  My heart is so sad to see some of my favorites retire, so today I chose a retiring paper and a stamp set that will carry over to the new catalog in June to help ease my sadness.  I'm still amazed that Pink Pirouette is going to retire, although we have Powder Pink, Blushing Bride, and the new Petal Pink to help heal the sadness.

The card today uses a Basic Black basecard, then a layer of Pink Pirouette dry embossed with the Layered Leaves embossing folder.  Then the image layer is a Whisper White oval with a Scalloped Edge Basic Black oval mat.  The image layers were die cut using the Layering Ovals Framelits.

The flower image from the Southern Serenade was stamped in Tuxedo Black Memento ink and then colored using both Sponge Daubers and ink and also Pink Pirouette and Old Olive Blends.  As you know, the popular Blends Markers sold out during heavy ordering during Sale-A-Bration, and Stampin' Up! is waiting for their reorder to arrive in June.  So I wanted to try an alternative method of coloring and found that Sponge Daubers with ink pads gives a pleasing look to the image.  However, I did add some accents using Blends.

The sentiment block is from the Petals Palette stamp set and the coordinating Petals & More dies.  The sentiment is stamped in Tuxedo Black Memento on Whisper White.  The die cut behind the sentiment is cut from Basic Black cardstock. Three sizes of the Berry Burst Glitter Enamel Dots accent the card.

The good news is that the Southern Serenade stamp set will carry over to the new catalog, along with the Layered Leaves embossing folder.  However, if you'll miss Pink Pirouette as much as I will, you'll want to order a stockpile of this wonder cardstock color before its gone forever.  Hurry, as the cardstock will only be available until it sells out.

Upcoming Color Revamp

You'll want to know which colors are retiring, which colors will be added, and there are even a few colors that will return to the core colors.  Read about all the Color Revamp changes here.

There is also news about updates to the Stampin' Up! stamp pads as well.  You'll want time to plan for the changes coming with the June catalog release.  See the changes planned for products in the June catalog.

The Last-Chance Products Lists

Stampin' Up! has released copies of the Last-Chance Product Lists.  If you're like me, you'll want to start marking up your current catalogs so you know which items will retire so you can order your favorites before they're gone.  With the new Annual Catalog coming June 2, you'll want to know which current products will retire and which will carry over when the new June catalog is released to budget your purchases for the next several month..

To view all of the retiring products, visit my online store.  This is your best source to see if the product you want is still available.  As items sell out, they will no longer be listed in my online store.

To download the .pdf versions, click the links below each image below.

Most items are only available until they sell out.  Stamp sets will be available until May 25.

Clarification:  Bundles that carry over to the new catalog are on the retired list because they will no longer receive special bundle pricing.  They will only be priced as individual items.  If you want a bundle listed in the current catalogs, purchase the bundles now from the current catalogs to ensure you receive the 10% bundle savings listed in the current catalog.

Clarification:  All of the ink pads are on the Last-Chance List. But don't worry, or panic like I did when I saw the Last-Chance List.  Not all the colors are retiring.  Stampin' Up! is improving its ink pad cases.  The new design will still fit your Stampin' Up! Color Caddy, although a bit more roomy, so don't spin it too fast.  The covers will fit tighter and they will open more easily with less chance of the cover separating for the pad while opening.  (Yeah!  I've had that happen to me.)  Stampin' Up! is also adding a defoamer to the ink to reduce bubbles and to give cleaner stamped images.  The new reinkers will include the defoamer.  You will only want to use the new reinkers with your new stamp pads.  The existing reinkers do not include a defoamer.
